I haven't been on the forum for what seems like forever, so how about some custom figures to celebrate?

great work, a real look-a-like!

Now that is the way to come back. Very nice customs. Off to share.

Great work mate and welcome back.

Thank you all! ;D It's good be back and doing custom work to boot!
I have always wanted a figure of this guy (gal?). This is probably my favorite character design from Rogue One, and I wish we could have seen some more of them in the movie. It is just a shame to me that we didn't get more articulated RO figures, but given we didn't even get all the main characters, I don't think the Partisan Scout ever stood a chance at being produced. I decided a while ago to make this figure, but didn't have the time to ever do it, nor did I really have a plan once I started...
The parts are combination of a few things. The arms, torso, and modified "skirt" are from a Naboo Pilot. The legs were from my fodder box. The helmet is from a SA Scout Trooper, and the black peg was transplanted onto the Naboo Pilot torso to hold it. The gloves are from a Dak Raltar TBS figure. The shoulder armor was actually a chunk of a 5 POA Cassian leg I had laying around. All the paints were ones I mixed up myself, since I couldn't find adequate colors for anything. Finally, the main ingredient was a LOT of detailed painting and patience. Something I have neither the skill nor...Patience for.
I used this guy's reference images to go by, which are about 1/3 of the way down the page:

I agree! What a comeback! And such a great way to celebrate it! Last week I watched Rogue One, again and I was reminded of what a great movie it actually is. FialaFernbrugg and I talked about it recently and we both agree: It's the best Disney Star Wars Movie by far compared to the three others...
Jyn looks great! I really like the parts you used and the footage is fun, too!
Bodhi Rook even tops this. I wonder when Hasbro will release a SA version of him. But yours looks amazing! Honestly, I cannot imagine how he could look any better! Which sculpt did you use for his head? Also the goggles, the best - everything about this custom is just awesome! The resolution of your pictures is also stunning by the way! I really like all the action footage to your customs!
Now, the Partisan Scout Rebel Trooper knocked me off the chair! You did a fantastic job on this one, too! Did you use an orginal Scout Helmet or is it a resin cast? Thank you for sharing the recipe! I've seen quite a few figures, but I just couldn't identify the torso...all I know is, it looks incredibly good! Thanks for also sharing the link of your reference source! Will you also make a SA Edrio a.k.a. Two-Tubes?
If you don't have the patience for detailed painting as you say...well, whatever it is you got - it paid off!
I also commented on the Art deWhill's latest artwork, Krennic's arrival, and I also got 3 projects for Rogue One alone on my to-do list. And I'm really enjoying all the current dedication for Rogue One!
It's good to have you back aboard! Thanks for sharing these excellent customs with us!

Very cool! Would you mind if i copy your erso recipe?
-
Wow nice Scout. Off to share that one too.

Darth More, I agree 100% with you. For me, Rogue One is the clear front runner of quality writing, creativity, and acting in the Disney SW Universe. I dare say that it is my favorite Star Wars movie generally, next to A New Hope. Since we only got four articulated figures for Rogue One, I knew I had to take matters into my own hands. Initially, I was hesitant to do any of them because I didn't want Hasbro to turn around and make something I poured all my time into, but I'm pretty confident that ship has sailed.
The Scout Trooper helmet on the partisan is from an original SA figure, but it did come from a wholesale seller in China, so it's origins might be a bit dubious.
I think the next figure I am going to tackle is the Cassian in the blue parka, since I also love that costume so much. I have all the parts for it already, I just need time to mix the blue paint and actually be able to paint it as well. I'm hoping next weekend offers an opportunity. However, Two-Tube and his brother are both on my list to make, and so is Krennick. I actually have a pair of rebels set aside to make into Blue Squadron pilots as well.
Thanks again for the feedback!!!
GhostSkull18, thank you, and definitely go for it! I absolutely love that outfit, so I would love to see someone else's figure of that costume as well!
Tamer, as always, thank you so much for sharing and supporting the hobby with this site. It's not often a forum and website like this one supports its users' content, and you go above and beyond for all of us. It's truly a pleasure to be a part of this community!
-
I appreciate the comments. I am just appreciative great artists like you share your work here.
-
Really nice work Jodo. Jyn and Bodhi are well done. The articulation is excellent on each of them. I really like how the partisan trooper turned out, good paint apps and the addition of the shoulder armor is excellent. Good job.
-
I can only agree with Darth More. Your latest figures are amazing.
The Partisan Scout Trooper is my favorite. The equipment and weathering looks very realistic.
I just like the idea that the rebels used some of the captured equipment in their fight against the empire.
Excellent work.
-
Thank you all!!!
Here is another Rogue One figures I threw together. It's quite a simple one...5 POA Bodhi Rook with a 5 POA Jyn poncho, painted with the colors I mixed for the above articulated figures. I just liked this one since it was obscure and I had the parts to quickly do it.

Another nice one. Off to share this one too.
-
That's a great quick custom.
-
Nice work mate.
Ron
-
Thank you guys! The second Bodhi was simple and easy...But it was fun to throw together, given its obscurity in the film.
One figure that I have always wanted from the abysmal Force Awakens movie is Han Solo. Despite not enjoying the movie, Han Solo still serves as my favorite character, and it just made sense for a figure like this to be produced in the 3.75 TBS or TVC line. It has been several years since the film was released, so I thought it was about time that I made my own...
Again, not having a plan when I started, I took several figures apart trying to decide what the best/easiest way to make a mostly screen accurate TFA Han Solo would be. Eventually, I ended up with the following combination:
3.75 TBS Han Solo Head, Holster, and Lower Legs
Sandstorm Han Solo Torso, arms, and Upper Legs
TFA 5 POA Han Solo Jacket
[Everything but his face (stupid wonky eyes) was repainted]

So true on the postquels in general for me too. Still that is one nice Han. Off to share him.
-
Thank you sir!!! I'd probably do more TFA customs, but I have no desire to see those characters in figure from. I have parts for a simple one that I will do soon, but it's only because I already had the stuff to make it.
Another Rogue One figure that I wanted, which had/has little to no chance of ever being produced is Galen Erso on Lah’mu. I really love this scene, and the feeling of approaching dread that comes with. Overall, it’s a simple costume for a simple life…Which I can dig.
This figure was a fairly simple one to make. I kind of imagined this figure to be a character that Hasbro could have skimped on a bit, since it doesn’t really “NEED” leg articulation. I ended up using the upper torso of an articulated Luke Skywalker figure, the skirt and legs from a different Luke Skywalker figure (no clue which ones), and the head of the RO Galen Erso figure, which I added a bit of scruff to.

Amazing customs

My internet is really wonky this morning and not letting me see images due to a work firewall.
My home internet was out this morning so I am working from behind already. I will see this soon and get it on the front pages.
-
One figure that I have always wanted from the abysmal Force Awakens movie is Han Solo.
I couldn't have put it in better words...actually I didn't even know this adjective in English before...
Anyway your let's say "post ROTJ" Han looks good! That was quite a big kit-bash! What about the Walmart TBS Han Solo from TFA? I'm going to buy this one from tunghori or somewhere else. Or is this one not screen accurate? I would like to make a custom with repainted (dry-brushed) hair and weathered clothes out of this one...
-
I'd probably do more TFA customs, but I have no desire to see those characters in figure from.
Same here! I got the Walmart TBS Luke Skywalker (Jedi Master) from tunghori so far and just gave him his green lightsaber from ROTJ - he looks gorgeous like that to me. I'm happy. And the Sequels are na na for me...
Your Galen Erso looks fantastic by the way! Thank you for the recipe, again! I also like all the Death Troopers - great footage!
Tamer: I also got issues with my internet last week. "It appears this has happened everywhere."
Senator Organa to Master Kenobi after Order 66
I'm glad you got it fixed, again! My WiFi was just out of range.

I think that's EP1 QUI-GON (1st release) legs and a POTF2 FLASHBACK luke skirt? For Galen erso ;)
Been using / staring at the same parts lately since I have soo much fodder.
Great job on all your figures! Definitely inspirational work!
-
Your Lah'mu Galen Erso is phenomenal.
The three-day stubble looks great.
Excellent work.
-
Now I can see the images. He looks great. Off to the front pages.
-
I think that's EP1 QUI-GON (1st release) legs and a POTF2 FLASHBACK luke skirt? For Galen erso ;)
I don't believe they're Qui-Gon legs, since I had to take two Lukes apart to get them.
Darth More, the TBS 3.75 Han Solo is accurate to his cold weather coat in TFA, but unfortunately they also sculpted his little scarf onto the body, so it ruins the look of the torso under the coat.
Thanks everyone for your comments (and for sharing Tamer)!!!!
Next up is a figure that I have had in mind for quite some time. For once I actually had an idea going into this what I thought would work...These pieces have been set aside since I got them, just waiting to be put together and painted. Again, this is one of my favorite designs and it is just a shame they never produced it in SA 3.75.
The recipe:
5 POA Cass skirt, holster, and fur hood (and alternative head with hat).
SA Cass head
TBS Starkiller torso
Dak Ralter arms
Nikto (Skiff Guard) legs
3.75 SA Cassian Andor (Jedha)

Jodo that is one great recipe. He looks great. Off to share this one too.
-
Hey Jodo, excellent customs. Erso turned out really well - it was a great idea to use Luke's body for that costume. Cassian and Han also turned out really well. Keep up the good work.
-
Thank you both!!! ;D
Another figure that I really wanted from Rogue One was Lyra Erso. She has two costumes in the movie, but I decided to go with the "homestead" version, since it's in her character's action sequence, and it also pairs well with my custom Galen Erso! I had a hard time figuring out a head that would work for this one, since the female options are so limited in 3.75 scale, and I went back and forth several times on which torso would be a viable screen accurate option...
The recipe was a bit odd, but I think it worked nicely in the end:
TPM Adi Gallia torso and arns
TFA 2-pack Rey head, skirt, and legs
Ben Kenobi Cloak (I think)
Lyra Erso (Lah'mu)

She looks great. I have often thought of looking up her bio to get to know a bit more about her.
Off to share the latest update.
-
I actually really like her as a character for some reason. The bio provided for her in the Rogue One visual guide is pretty cool!
And Rogue One content...My absolute favorite troop design is the Tank Commander, so I added him to my collection today! It's a simple repaint, so not too much work. Though it took a lot of concentration to do those fine lines. My hands shake a bit too much...

Nice job on the paint applications for the Tank Commander (even with shaky hands). I really like how Lyra turned out. That's a great addition to the Rogue One ranks. I really appreciate your sharing the recipe.
-
Now that is nice. Looks great in that Tank too.
Off to share.
-
I loved Lyra in the Catalyst book. It's nice to see her realized so brilliantly in plastic! Your tank commander looks great too.
-
Love the troops
-
Thank you everyone!!!!!!!!! ;D
Next up is yet another Rogue One figure that again we didn't receive...The Imperial Officer in Trench Coat. You can see them in a couple of shots from the movie, and they're also in Solo! I absolutely love this costume and wish they would have been showcased a little bit more. When I can get back to it, this guy will show up in my Photonovel, so keep an eye out for him someday.

Oh yeah that rocks. I like the look of this one. Off to share.
-
Seems like I missed the last three already...
Lyra Erso: Her costume looks very nice and the headscult is nice, too. I guess that's the best female headsculpt to represent her. It's nice to see Lyra and Galen next to each other. We probably won't see that from Hasbro until 2020 if their pace of releasing new figures continues like that.
Imperial Tank Commander: I really look up to you, FialaFernbrugg and all the other customizers who chose exactly the right shade of blue for the armor markings! Both of you made the Tank Commander excellently! It was just a no-brainer for Hasbro to release it down the road and they finally did it on NYCC2018 - money on the table. I really like the pictures you took of the commander in and next to the Assault Tank. Flat awesome!
Imperial Officer in trench coat: That's another nice RO custom! I didn't even recognize this character in Rogue One. I think it could also go along with characters of SOLO. The shade of green-grey you chose for the trench coat looks great!
But I got to admit that I got mixed feelings about the Star Wars Empire and WW2 Space Nazi analogy...but I respect that George Lucas was affected and even inspired by the events of World War II and its aftermath being born in 1944. Disney on the other hand took it too far in TFA in my opinion...
Thanks for sharing all this Rogue One goodness & have a nice weekend!
- Philipp
-
He turned out well - they would have been a great figure for Hasbro to do. Nice paint job!
-
Man, that Imperial Officer in trench coat looks really cool. As soon as I saw it I thought of the those Imperials in Rogue One.
-
Your Tank Commander turned out great. The colours are perfect and I love the pics with the assault tank.
The Officer in Trench Coat looks awesome. Definitively a figure I want to have for my collection.
-
Thank you all so much!!!

I'm not a fan of TFA in the slightest, but I actually like the idea of an "Imperial rally" or calling the troops to formation. However, I hate the idea of Starkiller base, so any positive feelings I had towards that scene were replaced with negative ones! :-[
Here is another Rogue One figure I threw together. Surprise, Hasbro didn't make this one either, despite being a really cool figure to have. It's Cassian Andor when he is running on the beach in the deleted scenes of the film, and also how he appears in his final moments on top the Citadel tower and on the beach with Jyn.
He is a very simple kitbash:
TBS Han in Carbonite Torso and arms
Comic Pack Imperial officer lower
TBS Cassian head and gun belt
Cassian Andor (Baywatch Beach Run on Scarif)

-
The Tunic Officer and Cassian are awesome!
-
Mitch Buch-Andor turned out great.
Excellent work.
-
Cassian turned out really well!
-
Thank you all so much!!!! :D
Here is another figure I had hoped they would make, but of course we never saw. Jyn wore her green jacket in all of the Jedha scenes, which to me, made her costume look more complete. The only issue I ran into was that no other jacket looks quite like that. For this figure, I ended up cutting the stripes off two 5 POA Jyns to use on this figure. I cut one too thick, but the others I was pretty happy with...I've never done anything like that before, so maybe I will transplant more detailing in the future!
The recipe:
SA TBS Jyn Arms, Lower Legs, and Holster
5 POA Jyn Torso, Head, and Jacket Stripes
Capt. Kirk Upper Legs
Jyn Erso (Jedha)

Jyn turned out great.
A great mix of parts.
-
Nice, very nice. I always appreciate you giving us the recipes too. Off to share.
-
Jyn turned out really well. Nice job
-
Here is a quick head swap I did for a "good enough" Vul Tazaene from Jabba's Palace. The body is from a Game of Thrones figure, and the head is from a Legacy Rancor Keeper (whose body might make a good decraniated guy from Rogue One eventually...)
I haven't been able to do much customizing or ANY planning for my photonovel for a while now, sadly. Between my job and driving every weekend to see my girlfriend I have very little down time.
And thanks for already posting this on the front page! I commented on FB about this, and like clock work it made it to the front page!
-
Definitely "good enough". That Sam body was a great spot for the figure and Malakili certainly makes him bald. Great design for filling in the Jabba's denizens gaps.
-
Yep, I already got this one on the front page when I saw it show up on our Facebook Post.
Looks great.
-
As I mentioned before with the other Imperial in Trenchcoat I made, this costume is one of my absolute favorites. I decided to make another officer, but this time with his coat opened. I had originally planned to make a body for this, but decided a kitbash was easier to do. I also had enough time to this one, unlike a custom I'd have to paint...

Coat - TLJ Hux

-
Yep, great recipe. I love all the arty in this one too. Off to share.
-
That’s one good looking officer. Simple and effective!
-
Nice! I never thought of putting a Cracken head onto an Imperial Officer's body. Is it wrong to say that the result even looks handsome? The coat looks excellent on him! That's probably the best way to use a Hux figure!
I also like the Rogue One footage!
Thanks for sharing! This is one of my favourites!
- Philipp
-
That is a great mix of parts.
He looks like an imperial intelligence agent.
-
Thank you all! ;D

Hey great to see you back and with two great new customs to boot. Off to share.
-
Seeing more alien variety is always good! I really like the torso of the Quarren! It looks brilliant!
I like both of them! Awesome ideas here! The torso looks so realistic, I would almost add some weathering to the Quarren's headsculpt.
- Philipp
-
Thank you both!!!
Agreed about weathering the Quarren. I actually have an idea for something to do with the Quarren's head, but I'm not sure it will work. I'm going to try and practice on a junk figure soon...Only time will tell if this *secret* method will be a success or not. :P ;)
-
I really like the look of these two figures - the Quarren head really works well on the Villie body - great eye! The Aqualish looks like he should be some low level bureaucrat :) Anyway, great job.
-
Two great new characters for the SW universe.
Both figures are phenomenal.
-
Thank you both, but sorry I missed your comments though!
One thing I have thought about for a while is making a custom of myself in the Star Wars universe. Right now, I’m still in the planning stage, so I'm not for certain what the exact costume theme will be, but I was leaning toward an adventurer type. I have a few ideas for the head, but right now I’m thinking about the Luke from the Rebel Alliance commando comic pack. I’m sure anything I chose will need the facial hair added. A few other people have recommended some ideas, like Will Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Any other ideas?
And for reference...

There's a company that you can send your picture to, and they'll basically make a photoreal head for you. I remember Goldleaderone did that for a pilot custom. It was pretty rad.
-
Hmmm....
You might want to try a Kyle Katarn head. Looks close.
I am always partial to armored types or Sith. It will be interesting to see what you choose.
-
There's a company that you can send your picture to, and they'll basically make a photoreal head for you. I remember Goldleaderone did that for a pilot custom. It was pretty rad.
I Googles it, and believe I found it! I may have to do that!!! It would (surely) be the most accurate and efficient way to capture my likeness.
Tamer, I’ll have to look and see if I have a Katarn head in my fodder box. That’s a good option!! And I agree. I think I’ll do a few figures,, so maybe I’ll have a few body options!
-
So it has taken me a while (thanks to everything going on in my life), but I finally finished my selfie figure! Just like every normal person, there are a few outfits and variations that the figure can go through. I modeled the figure's costume changes after what I would wear normally, which is usually a shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a vest, or a jacket. To be honest, this really make me want to be back in the photonovel scene. It makes me quite sad to see it's been years since I was able to post one. Also, I came up with a stupid little backstory to mirror my own life as well. Enjoy:
"Zak Eehon graduated at the top of his class from the University of Agamar, where he majored in xenoarchaeology. Later, he also earned two degrees in alien communication from the University of Coruscant. After a few short years of instructing classes at the same institution, Zak decided to venture out into the field and explore the galaxy, where he put his academic expertise into practice. Though he made his way through various systems, eventually reaching the Outer Rim, he knew true adventure lay in the unknown regions..."

Thank you Tamer!!!!!
-
Wow, what a cool project! Sorry for my late reply...You created quite a handsome figure there - just like the original model. I also like the pictures of all the different settings! Looks like your character has gone through some awesome adventures! You look great aboard the Barge by the way!
And I'm glad you already got your new Desert Skiff (isn't it plain fantastic?)!
I think choosing the long hair version of yourself was a good choice! It is more unique and stands out more. And it's just extremely good looking being so recocgnizable. I think I had already commented on making a choice back in the days, but I guess my comment got lost on transfer in the web...
I like all the different outfits, too! Maybe I find a suitable head for my portrait some day as well or will make a 3D print. Making an action figure of yourself is actually a brilliant idea!
Not many people have themselves standing right between their collection. Cool stuff, indeed!
Thanks for sharing and have a hell of fun with your excellently done project!
This certainly brings a lot of fun to us on here! Best regards from Germany!
- Philipp

Nicely done Jodo. I think that your head design works really well and I like the different looks that you have created. Planning "outfits" around things you might actually wear is a great idea. I also really like the name "Adventum" (too much fun with your Latin). I hope you are pleased with this project, you should be.
