Title: Quazar's Qustoms - Updated 9.22.20 - Captain America - WW2 Outfit
Post by: Lance Quazar on July 11, 2020, 11:52:47 PM
Well, with all the free time our apocalypse has provided, I've gotten back into customizing.

First figure in the lineup, a fan fic character from a Star Wars role playing game I'm currently running.

Meet ISB Director Sloan...

Then we have my take on a Rogue One/ANH era Mon Mothma...

My version of a live action Hera Syndulla...

And my favorite in the new wave, Resistance Spy Vi Moradi from Black Spire Outpost (aka Galaxy's Edge at Disney Parks)

Cheers!

Wow, thanks, Tamer!!  Really appreciate it!

Cool stuff! Keep up the good work!

Thanks very much!  Appreciate you looking and commenting!

Great figures. I like how Hera turned out and your finished version of Vi looks really good. Nice job.

Ha!  Coming from a fellow member of the Moradi Fan Club, that means a lot!

I like that female imperial officer in white.

Cool, thanks!

Hera is always a favorite! Would like to see you tackle a realistic Ghost crew. 😎👌

Thank you!  Appreciate the vote of confidence, but I don't think I'll tackle any more Rebels figures.  I happened to have the parts for this, but I wouldn't know where to start on most of the rest!

Thanks to everyone for your comments!

All new customs!

Sector Security Forces.

These private rangers are employed by local planets, stations and outposts to provide assistance to travelers, enforce safety regulations and deter the encroachment of criminal activity.

Unfortunately, private mercenary groups are also hired by criminal organizations and corporations to enforce their sinister agendas.

But not so for these two, Officer Flip and Sergeant Glip, who, along with their helpful droid FleeBlee Seven, provide assistance and keep everyone safe and sound aboard the bustling Farspace Station.

"Goooooooooo Sector Rangers!"

"I missed my transport and I don't know what to do!"

"Fear not, traveler!  A Star Tours shuttle to Naboo is departing in only 45 minutes from Terminal 12!"

"Wow, thanks, Sector Rangers!"

"Now go back and tell Jabba the Hutt that Farspace Station is off limits!"

"Curse you, Sector Rangers!"

"From all of us at Sector Security, we wish you clear skies and pleasant travels!"

"And always wear a safety belt!"

"Another fine day on the job, Glip!"

"Wait, I thought I was Flip!?"

New batch of customs!  All Tatooine/desert residents!

First is based off this classic bit of McQuarrie concept art!

I also stumbled upon this piece of art, where some else decided to borrow the character -

So I borrowed from the borrower --

Next up is a blink-and-you-miss-her extra from Tatooine in the original "Star Wars" -

Next is a quick custom I made with some spare parts, mostly a Fixer figure.

This guy can be seen most days in the marketplace, selling the meager bounty from his moisture farm.  But, in reality, he's a highly-skilled freelance slicer.

If you know the secret code word, "I'm looking for slightly spoiled squish-melons," then he's yours to hire!

"I'm looking for, uh, squishy...no, I mean, I'm looking for slightly salted, er...I mean, super smelly..."

"Oh, for pete's sake, I'll do it!"

"We've heard reports about an illegal slicer operating around here. You wouldn't know anything about that?"

"Oh, hi, Sector Rangers! Nope! The only slicing I do is for this tasty week-old zuzu pie. Care for a slice?"

"Hmm. Wouldn't that be considered bribery?"

"Not after you taste it!"

"Pardon me, madam, but are you lost?"

"No."

"Oh, good. Do you have any idea how to get to Docking Bay 61? I'm so turned around!"

Title: Re: Quazar's Qustoms - Updated 7.30 - Twi'lek commando
Post by: Lance Quazar on July 30, 2020, 11:31:32 PM
Real quick custom.  "Twi'lek Alliance Commando."

This came about while sorting through extra figures and the tails of an Ayy Vida figure just popped right off in my hand with no effort.

So I had to think what would be a cool head that could make a good twi'lek.  So many purple twi'leks in fan art, but none in figure form, so I dremmeled off the hair and ears of a Resistance figure.

And then I sorted through the fodder to see what neck she'd fit.  I have very little left in terms of usable fodder after a productive month, but I always wanted to do something with the Deena Shan "commando" body and it was a perfect fit.

(had to paint over those incredibly dorky Alliance crests that were on the knee pad, though.  SO dumb looking!)

The tails aren't glued on yet, as I need to find a way to erase the original head's miralian facial tattoos.  Curiously, using acetone only erased ONE of the squares.  So now she's uneven!  I may also dremmel more of the head away so the tails fit "lower."

anyway, here she is....still a bit of a WIP, but I love the way she looks so far!

Such an excellent kit-bash! I love this composition of yours and am still waiting for those animated Resistance figures to go on clearance from 9.99€ here in Germany. Nobody buys them...you did some decent sculpting on the head there! This custom made my day!

Wow, thanks!  But I did no sculpting here, I just put the Resistance head together with the Aay Vida tails that fell off on their own!  I did dremmel down the head, getting rid of hair and ears to make the headdress/tails fit properly.

Thanks very much!  It was super easy, but I think it looks great.

Nice custom.

Thanks for your continued support and kind words, Tamer!  Very appreciated!

haha!  Thanks, but I did no painting on the figure except to paint the head tails and neck area.

She's Synara San from "Resistance" with the head tails from Ayy Vida from AOTC.

That's a great design! I used the same base for a Twi'lek commando some time back, but using the Synara head and turned out really well for a unique member of this species. I like it!

I really didn't do much at all!  The tails on the Aay Vida figure literally just fell off in my hand while sorting through figures.  Guess the glue gave out after, what, 17 years?

And then I just dremmeled down the Resistance head a little so they'd fit.

Easy stuff!

And now for something completely different...  This is the coolest outfit that Steve "Captain America" Rogers wears in the entire MCU - the USO outfit combined with leather jacket.

Pretty happy with how this one turned out, I had an inkling to make this for years before I finally figured it out.

Note:  The Peggy and Schmidt customs were NOT done by me, but by the artist formerly known as Inky Skin.

Wow, thanks, Tamer!  yeah, this is my favorite "outfit" for Steve Rogers across all of the MCU films!

Thank!  Sometimes my customs turn out like bird poop, but this one surprised me as well with how it came together.

The "scenes" were just images I quickly googled and put up on my laptop.  The figures are all standing precariously on the keyboard as I snapped away.  :D

Yup, all 1/18 scale.  The Captain America head is from an actual Marvel figure, they had a rare helmet-less version when the first movie came out, but it seems to be impossible to find now.

The other figures weren't made by me, but by another customizer aka Inky Skin.  He created shrunk down heads using the 6" versions of Schmidt and Peggy. Don't ask me to explain how!

And, as I said previous, my laptop was the backdrop for all the "scenes."  :)

here's a pic of Lil' Steve with his 6" big brother, which was a great source of inspiration.
