hey guys,
Here are some pics I posted for Brian over on ST6, the avatar scorpion gunship, which is on sale this week at Kmart for 15 bucks, :) So is the mech and trtread thing.
Well, here are some pictures with Le Sanction Deaux and Helix, for scale.

Looks cool and armed to the teeth. Is it just me or does this thing look terribly underscaled for 3 3/4" figures? I thought that was a Hasbro thing.
-
you aren't wrong.
The armored joe is a bit tall, but not horrible, helix is a bit short, and she barely fits in the thing.
Its not huge, by any means, but it is well armed.
I'm wondering how hard it would be to convert to SW or even modern military.
-
This would make an awesome SW crossover. I bought my little gal a happy meal tonight and it has the avatar horse in it that lights up like a rainbow. This new movie looks awesome.

The wife and I are going to check it out tomorrow. I'll let you know what I think.

Figures it would go on sale a week after I buy mine and lay down a primer coat on it :P I like this gunship but as mentioned it is horribly under scaled. As are the AMP suits... I couldn't get a clone in my AMP so I had to use a Valor vs. Venom Dusty fig. I'm thinking that my VvV Snake Eye's will fit this gunship though.. or I have a 25th Ace that would look hot i here.

It makes me wonder about the size of these avatar figures. I thought they pretty much looked three and three quarter, but guess they might be a smidgin smaller or they are having design issues. Is Hasbro making these? I didn't look on the side of the package to see which company is responsible.
Still, we gotta be able to fit some clones or mandos in those mechs for sure. Hmm....if anyone can figure that out, its the customs guys here.
-
I got a clone to fit in my amp suit. I have a pic of it posted somewhere.
-
Mattle actually makes then but they have pretty close to standard modern SW articulation.
The smurfs, errrrr Blue aliens are a bit taller but they are supposed to be in the film. can't say for the humans as I never picked any up yet.
I get a huge Command and Conquer Vibe from the army stuff though.
-
The Avatar "humans" are a bit smaller than standard 3 3/4 size. When you hold them up against SW or Joes on the peg you can see the size difference.
They are also IMO not as good a quality as Hasbro and are a tad expensive on top of it. I wanted to get the "commander" for my AMP suit but after looking at him on the peg I was left with the feeling that even I couldn't make him look any better without swapping out lots of parts.. (if that's possible with him)
Overall though, I think the vehicles are awesome, size not withstanding.
-
the toy looks bad ass but it's 1/3 the scale it should be, like a well armed high tech clown car for little people.
cannot wait to see the movie tonight after work though!
-
the first movie I was going to see in movie theatres since I had my little gal and we have a foot of snow forecast for tonight! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
It looks alright, but I think it needs a new paint job. ;D
-
Tons of cool weapons there!! I like it!
-
If the Mattel Avatar figures are smaller than the Star wars figs then maybe the Playmate Star trek figs would fit in the Avatar vehicles, they are a fair bit smaller than the Joes or star wars figs. They aren't releasing the Avatar figs in Australia it seems I have been on the lookout but so far nothing. Wouldn't mind a few smurfs for background and custom aliens.
-
they do fit pretty well, but Uhura doesn't seem to want to sit down fully, hmm.
-
Lol, its the skirt. Same problem as the imperial officers.
-
Imperial officers wear skirts?
-
No the Uhura figure wears a skirt but, similar to the tunic ends on imperial officer uniforms, it prevents her from sitting down.
