Title: Customs Dept. Vehicles and Ships
Post by: RunDown on April 05, 2010, 07:02:42 PM
Well here is my first ever shot at customizing a vehicle - in this case the V-19 Torrent Republic Fighter Ship.   The idea here was a 'shadow' version.  I hope you enjoy checking it out as much as I enjoyed painting it.     The Black is Model Masters, the gray a mix of model masters white and black and the pale green is Citadel 'Rotting Flesh'.  Gotta love that name.  So without further bs, here she is..............

another view, a close up of the Warhammer water decals I used . ..  I used a smaller version of the same decal for the pilots shoulder - unfortunately I shipped him without taking a picture of him . . . . .

Very nicely done.
This is one of the few ships I have (thanks to a certain Yarder) that I have thought of doing spomething with.
If I could find another for a good price I might try this.
Great looking paint apps and nice color choices, really like the green... and it has such a great name too.
Very well done.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone.
Wraith  - those are indeed chaos.   I bought a couple sheets labeled as chaos / warhammer on ebay, and honestly I don't know the difference, but did get some really cool, small decals to use.   I noticed the ones you have been using and really like those as well.   I like the lettering type decals you have.  Mine is mostly things such as different skulls, intertwined snakes, etc.   Definitely alot to work with.     Thanks again for the kind words.  cd

Tamer  - wow man you did it again Thank you  . . .that is too cool logging on and seeing that v pop up.   It was alot of hours, that is one thing I learned.  Painting a couple hundred figures over the last few years still did not prepare for the amount of work that goes into painting a ship.   And on top of that, as I look at the pics, I see flaws that need corrected asap.

Wraithnine  - -I will post a pic of my sheets, I seen you already have.  Perhaps we can swap a few for a little variety (?).   Also wanted to say your shadow ships are awesome.  I looked at your entire thread a while back, in addition to enjoying your videos and have to say we seem to have the same taste.   All your animated clones are 'right up my alley' as they say.   Keep up the great work, here is one fan you have!

Clonemedic96, Thanks for checking out the ship and the great feedback.....nice to know you like it man,   Thanks alot.   Next vehicles for me include converting a small joe ship into a Concept Republic Fuelship and I have a Clone Wars AT RT which is gonna get the 'treatment' . . .  .I just haven't decided on what that treatment is going to be . . .. suggestions welcome but my first thought is camo . . . . or colored to match a red or blue squad . . .green?   HELP!

HB that is one amazing piece of work you did, my friend.    Makes that ship look flat out real.    I love it man.   Thank you so much for the fp treatment.   I really appreciate everyones kind words.    I too would most likely NOT have the guts to paint this ship if it were mine.   This now belongs to one of our very own members, known as turbotyper96.    Nearly all of my recent work you see here belongs to him!!   Great ideas, Jordan!!     Thanks again to all.   You have no idea how honored I am. ;)

Run down, you really need to get a camera that takes clear pictures...your customs are stand out georgeous, they need to be well presented.

I love both the Torrent (which is fast becoming a favourite SW vehicle of mine) and the speeder with the strecher is another really fine piece.
