hi i'm new here.. im crow a amateur customizer from the Philippines.
first off is my custom clone sergeant ( squad to be followed ). i haven't named him yet. LOL.
he is a repaint of a ROTS red clone commander. i got him at a local surplus shop ( no pauldron, no skirt, no visor, no weapons)
so i gave a regular clone trooper belt and a repaint with battle damage details.

Pretty good man. Did you put those notches in his chest? Hey I was wondering how much do figures cost in the Phillipines? Do you guys get everything that comes out?

yup, a heated up a small flat screwdriver does the trick. added some black and orange for detail.
figures cost around 500 to 600 pesos which is roughly $11 - $12.. the sad part is, we do not get everything that comes out..
i live in the southern islands of the philippines most of goodies only reach Manila (northern Philippines) so i have to rely on people in Manila selling their own collection over the internet.. but i enjoy scavenging at surplus shops selling good 'ol american junk.

before i finish my clones, i kinda went busy on this one...
Custom Jedi
simple leg swap with minor hip surgery. :D
For this custom i will be using a farm boy Luke Skywalker (from Darknsour's holiday give-away thanks rich) and the legs of a fodder jedi (loose galen marek in jedi robes). The details on the Luke figure are pretty much impressive except for the unarticulated legs. This is were this custom will be taking off, replacing the boring legs with brand new articulated ones.
STEP 1: prepping up.
popped out the legs from the torso and also the head and hands so as not to be damaged during the operation. LOL. by now you may have notice the difference between the two legs, one is a bit taller than the original and the pegs are a lot different from the other.
STEP 2: Surgery
using a sharp blade and years of medical experience, i sliced the pegs out of each leg for the hip transplant. transferred the original peg on to the new legs.
sanded the surface. joined with super glue. (bulldog premium strength)
Finished product:

wanna give a shoutout to Darknsour for the extra Luke.
READY FOR PHOTO OPS!

Looks great! I'm glad you showed those progress pics - it never occurred to me to swap those "waist pegs" like that...
-
thank you sir.
the peg from the new leg was a lot bigger than the original.. it was a good thing that both pegs had thick necks shaped to fit the skirts on.
-
looks great good tutorial !!!!!
-
WOW!!!
I'm glad you found good use for him!!!
It came out great!!!
Keep up the great work!!!
Rich

Nice Jedi. If you don't mind me asking, what head did you use?
the base figure is TAC LUKE SKYWALKER (Moisture Farmer), i pretty much kept the upper half of the body.

recipe:
base: 2005 ROTS Evolutions figure
arms: clone trooper arms
BBI soldier (bruce willis sculp i guess) - retooled
repainted the neck to match head color.

another jedi:
Master Shin Tsa-a

i really had fun making this. legs and torso arm from a ROTS Plo Koon. arms are from galen marek in jedi robes figure. head is from pirates of the caribbean figure Sao Feng (Chow Yun-fat). i actually had to cut off plo koons neck and replaced it a CW anakin skywalker neck to pull off this one. trench coat is from a Star Trek Nero figure.

Kitbashed using Indiana Jones torso & arms (plus jacket and sling bag) and Garindan Legs with a 25th Joe Flint head. :)

Nice use of the Indiana Jones upper body and the Garindan legs; awesome heavy blaster too! I love these kinds of characters; they're the ones I consider to be the most fun to make.

WIP update:
here are a couple of WIP pics of a current mando i'm working on.
i'ts hard to find any decent mandos from where i'm from, luckily i was able to get a hold of a TSC boba fett. bbfet
the easy part:
placed epoxy putty on neck and shoulder holes to tighten it up since the figure originally had a quick draw mechanism which made the arms loose without it.
sanded it down so that the arm pegs fit in comfortably.
attached a Valorum head on the original neck peg (with crazy glue ofcourse) and currently in the process hollowing out the helmet.
testing out the new head. I still have loads of work to do though. i'm just done with the easy part. still have to think of a nice color scheme and a name for this bad boy.
(http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj293/pulang_pablo/customs/full-2.jpg) (http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj293/pulang_pablo/customs/full-1.jpg)
please leave a comment or suggestion. Va1

any tips on Mandolorian making?
Crow,
It looks like you should be giving me tips. I like it. On the front page.
As far as Mandalorian making there are quite a few good Mando builders here: Clonehead, Wraithnine, Clonesniper78, Lucasclones, Mungo is doing some great one, Jedi Minstrel, and the list goes on and on. I also love the work in progress thread for "Building a better Boba" by one Darklord1967.

thanks for putting me on front page sir! :) i'll try to look up on all the works of the Customizers you've mention. thanks for the heads up. 0/

Good customs make the front page period is my motto and your Mando sure did fit that bill, but you are quite welcome.
-
Looking good, Crow! I can't wait to see this one painted up.
-
I don't think you need that many tips, but if you feel brave you can check out Darklord1967's Boba.
-
Dude! Awsome work. Can't wait for the final product. Your good to go. No need for extra tips. Do it your way.
-
thats a sweet looking mando i think your doing fine by yourself ;D ;D ;D
-
thanks guys. hopefully i could finish this by next week. i'll try to look up the works of Clonehead, Wraithnine, Clonesniper78, Lucasclones and Jedi Minstrel. i dont think i can pull of a Darklord1967. hahahaha.
one thing i find difficult is that if i hollow out the boba helmet, i dont actually know if it would fit the Valorum head. i need tips on this. do you guys have any? 0/

There are actually a couple of helmets that could work. The Mando helmet that came with the Entertainment Earth Exclusives' Elite Forces. It's not sold any more except on Ebay but if you can get a hold of one of the Mandos it came with, the helmet could fit. You could check with Clonehead under the "Parts Bin" pages. He might be able to make a resin copy of one. Also, the helmet on Jaster Mereel from the latest EE Exclusives could work.

wanna start this year right by posting some WIP photos of what ive been currently working on.
apologize for not being so active, college and work took alot of my time.
SHOGUN VADER:
