Hello All, Hangarbay94 thought that you fine people would enjoy the custom Imperial and New Republic insignias that I designed. However, they are too big to be posted here, so I have included the links to my thread at Resin Illuminati and my gallery at Deviant Art. Please feel free to use them any way would like to, and as always, any comments are more than welcome! ENJOY!!!!

they are some wickedly awesome Alliance and Imperial Insignia!
-
i really love the krayt and panther squadrons ! sweet insignias mate
-
Thanks for the very nice compliments, I also do custom insignias upon request, just ask Hangarbay94 LOL. So if anyone wants anything, please let me know.
-
could you do beige squadron please ?!
-
Sure I could do a Beige Squadron, just some questions though. What do they fly?, what era do they operate in? As a follow-up to the last question, who is their allegiance with?
In the mean time, I just re-designed the "Triangle Type" flight patch/insignia for the Incom T-65C X-Wing, since I was never really happy with the first version. It can be viewed here: http://viperaviator.deviantart.com/gallery/26112649#/d36f9u5

With the proper back-round story I could definitely make insignias for figures and vehicles. The last ones that I did were for Hangarbay94 for his X-Wing Alliance Web-Series. They were the insignias for Rancor Squadron and, most recently, the flight insignias for his modified ARC-170 Intruder and E/ARC-170 Prowler. As for Clone Units and Legions, I never really considered it, but I would be willing to try. Thanks for the great compliment!

Thank you my friend, funny you should ask about a poster, I currently am working on a WIP called the Squadrons of the New Republic Navy. I'll post a link later on today when I get some-more of it finished. I plan on following up that one with Squadrons of the Galactic Imperial Navy, Ships of the Galactic Imperial Navy, Rank Devices of the New Republic Navy and Rank Devices of the Galactic Imperial Navy. As for Walker Units, stand-by I have some in the works right now that I should have posted by next week.

This is the insignia for Nomad Squadron, they are currently deployed in the F/A-88 B-Wing. Along with Twin-Suns Squadron and Blackmoon Squadron they are charged with the defense of the Hyperspace Routes in the Arkanis sector from any Imperial Remnant Forces and Space Pirates. The three squadrons are based on the Quasar-Fire Class Carrier Independence, with a home port and support facilities on the planet Tattooine, in the city of Mos Estrella.
http://viperaviator.deviantart.com/#/d36k7wu
-
I like that one too. Sand people sticks!
-
Thanks Tamer, here's another new one for all of you fine people.
Here is the insignia for Crusaders Squadron. They currently deployed in the F/A-88 B-Wing and based in the Outer Rim Territories near the boarder to the Unknown Regions. It is rumored that the Crusaders along with the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet, successfully engaged and destroyed a preliminary first strike force of the Yuuzhan Vong prior to the start of the war. Both the New Republic and Chiss Governments will neither confirm or deny this rumor.
http://viperaviator.deviantart.com/#/d36kiv2
-
this one rocks, fantastic!!!
-
Some tough folks to take out the Vong. Looks great. I wish deviant art would give a person an img code and then you could just paste the image directly in the message. Still, it looks great.
-

oh DA does, you can find it in the "share" section as short link. Starting with a http://fav.me/
-
I was meaning an [img] code we could just paste directly into the message thread, but the links work just fine.
These are some great insignias.

One other thing about Crusader Squadron, is that they are rumored to be all Mandalorians. If you look at the helmet that the Crusader is wearing, you could see that I purposely made it to look like like the helmet of the Mandalorian Supercommandos. (a little Easter Egg, LOL)
-
Here is the insignia for Hawkbat Squadron. The unit is currently deployed in the F/A-88 B-Wing. They are currently based at a classified location in the Outer Rim Territories. It is rumored that the Squadron is attached to the Office of New Republic Intelligence performing clandestine missions.

Thank you, everyone! I appreciate the very nice comments. Rest assured, that there is more coming very, very soon.
-
Since I did a 25th Anniversary insignia for the X-Wing, I thought that it would only be fare to do a 50th Anniversary insignia for the Y-Wing. The Aurabesh translates as from top to bottom 50 Years, BTL Series Y-Wing. ENJOY.

Viper Aviators Insignia of the Week...
Presented by Viper Aviator
This is the insignia for the New Republic Starfighter Command Heritage Flight. Heritage Flight was formed three years after the Battle of Endor in response to the general public wanting to know more about the fighters, fighter squadrons and the brave beings who fought and were often victorious against an overwhelmingly superior enemy. Heritage Flight was a P.R. and recruitment success for the New Republic in a way that no one could have predicted. Heritage Flight can be seen at numerous aerospace shows throughout the Galaxy, performing the maneuvers that the Rebels flew against the fighter forces of the former First Galactic Empire, as well as give detailed tours of the fighters that they operate with detailed histories and provide question and answer sessions.
Heritage Flight currently operates four ARC-170 Intruders, six Z-95 Headhunters, six BTL-A4 Y-Wings and 4 T-65C X-Wings.
(The design of this insignia was based on the actual United States Air Force Heritage Flight insignia.)
-
Very cool. I figured the requests would start up. I too have made one of these my background on my laptop.
I really like the colors on the latest squadron too, especially those on that Xwing.
-
That latest one is an eye grabber! Yep, those requests are going to be really pouring in if you keep this up.

Ah, VA, you are a victim of your own success! In fact, I also have a request, for my 818th Feartroopers Squadron. I have an insignia that Fiala did for me before, so I'd like to see if you could incorporate that in with it. I love your work, so keep it coming!
-
this is truly a insignia of the week
again very nice work VA
-
A friend of mine told me that the Rebel Legion once did a run of patches for what they referred to as Starfighter Command. After someone complained about the design, the Rebel Legion dropped the design. My friend sent me a link to a discussion thread on the subject and I found a picture of the patch sewn on a leather flight jacket. I liked the design so much, that I decided to re-create it with some differences. Now instead of saying Rebel Legion Starfighter Command in English, it now reads New Republic Starfighter Command in Aurabesh. I also redid the center insignia and the representation of the "spiral" type galaxy found at the bottom. I have attached a link to the thread that explains the controversy over the original patch and the picture that I worked from.
http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16836&sid=3b7b908f33375b17852c2178a4628d3d
I don't know who designed the original patch. If anyone out there does know who the designer was, please let me know so that I could give either him or her the proper credit that they deserve.
Here is the version that I did: http://viperaviator.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d36vbmb

Hi Phatty, I have some ideas for this project as well. I have no problem at all with incorporating Fiala's design as long as Fiala does not mind.
-
WOW BOYS....DUDES DON'T RUSH THE POOR GUY...you might scare him away!!!
VA, you really have shaken up a hornets nest....I think a large bucket of cold water should do it....I think I'll throw it over poor Wraith9 first ;)
If they give you any trouble then just give me a nudge, sheriff Jules will get out the old Imperial Water Cannon....

just kidding when ever is fine was just curious to see what you would come up with that was all ..........."goes and sulks in the corner after being told off"........
-
Wow, I just read some of the controversy over the patch. Being former military myself I would have considered anything like that a great compliment to my unit or division if I had seen someone customize it for Star Wars use. I think some folks either have way too much time on thier hands or spend way too much time trying to legitamize fun.
That being said, I love the new design and was thinking to myself some of these would just make excellent patches. Have you ever considered submitting some of your great unit designs into making patches? I could easily see myself having an entire jacket of these given the chance.
I would also like to apologize for myself for asking for an insignia for some type of ground walker unit. I am enjoying your work immensely and hope you see it as a compliment with no committment at all on your end. As someone so elegantly said earlier this week, you can't rush an artist and this is great art. Thank you for sharing it with us.
-
Hello all,
Please don't worry about the requests, they get me inspired to make these insignias, and I really enjoy doing them (it keeps me sane LOL). Just please be patient with me it might take a while to complete them. I still have some WIPs I'm currently in the process of finishing along with some commissions from Pocket Books. After I'm done with those items I'll begin working on the requests. Thank you for all of the kind words and support. This is one of the best groups that I belong to!
-

Can't wait to see one with the Walkers!
Hi Tammer, As it so happens, I'm working on a couple of "Walker" themed insignias right now. The first is going to represent the Imperial Armored Divisions and the second that I'm working on is for Blizzard Force on Hoth. I'm thinking about giving Blizzard Force the motto, "Freezing our Anoat's Off". Let me know what you think of the motto.
-
Hi Tammer,
I finished up a couple of Imperial Walker insignias, I thought you might get a kick out of them.
Here is the insignia for the Imperial Army's 3rd BGE, 1st INF Armored Division The Landkillers. Currently, The Landkillers are utilizing Kuat Drive Yards All Terrain Armored Transport (AT-AT) Mk.I.
http://viperaviator.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d370ur3
And the second:
This is the insignia utilized by the Imperial Army's Rothana Heavy Engineering All Terrain Scout Transport (AT-ST) Drivers and Gunners. This insignia is usually seen in a modified format with a banner on the bottom indicating the unit that the crews are assigned to.
http://viperaviator.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d370v64
Let me know what you think my friend.
-
What do I think? Is this a trick question? Absolutely outstanding!
Here are the graphics folks

I have backgrounds for all my computers now. The Landkillers!
-
Really amazing images tamer!
-
Hi Tammer,
Here's another Walker insignia that you might like!
This is the insignia for the Imperial Army's 22 BDE 77th INF Blizzard Force. This was the Armored Division that led the assault on Echo Base on the planet Hoth in the Anoat System.
This is considered to be an unofficial insignia by the Imperial Army, it was designed by the Officers and Enlisted personnel assigned to the unit when Hoth was their permanent base of operations.
The Aurabesh translates from top to bottom as 22nd BDE 77th INF Blizzard Force, "Freezing Our Anoats Off"
http://viperaviator.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d3715e3
Hope you like it, let me know what you think.
-
VA, love the walker insignia...the colours look excellent.

Wow VA, you are rockin and a rollin like Jules this week.
I have replaced my backgrounds on my computers every day. Just outstanding. I would love full size posters of each of these.

In keeping with the current Empire Strikes Back theme, here is the latest one for you all of you fine people.
Here is the insignia for the 24th IAG 82nd BDE. This is the Imperial Army Garrison and Brigade that was stationed at Bespin's Cloud City in the Anoat System when it was annexed and occupied by the Galactic Empire for harboring Rebel Fugitives after the Battle of Hoth.
ENJOY!!!! lvva

When the work for your MaschinenKrieger vehicles and fighting suits comes off hold, send me a note and I'll be happy to help you out my friend. Meanwhile, if you need anything from that galaxy far, far away, don't hesitate to ask.

WOW, thanks a lot for your fantastic offer! I'll sure come back to you, my friend.

Hello Guys and Girls,
While trying to get some inspiration for more insignias, a friend of mine who belongs to the 501st Legion passed along a link to me that includes a complete list of the fan made patches that the did for their Garrisons and Divisions, as well as a complete list of insignias and patches done by the Rebel Legion and other Star Wars fans. Take a look at the link, i don't think that you'll be disappointed.

unbelievable.... :o
thanks for the link!

Just finished up 2 more insignias
First Up is the insignia for Wolfpack Squadron. I was blackmailed into doing this insignia for my wife's Star Wars RPG group. According to the back-story, The Wolfpack was formed at the very beginning of the formation of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, originally flying Incom Z-95 Headhunters in front line combat operations. As more advanced fighters were aquired and more squadrons with these fighters were added to the Order of Battle, The Wolfpack was reassigned to the Moon of Folor as a Basic Flight Instruction Squadron, still operating their original Z-95 Headhunters. 10 years after the Battle of Endor, the Wolfpack was assigned to operate the brand new Feri-Tek T-72A E-Wing, and was re-designated as a front line combat squadron, seeing their first combat action at the Battle of Mon Calamari against the re-born Emperors World Devastators.

Second up is the insignia for Wampa Squadron, Like Wolfpack Squadron, I was blackmailed into doing this one for my wife's Star Wars RPG group. As of this time, their back-story is still being written, when it's finalized, I'll post it up here for all of you.
http://viperaviator.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d37k47f
Hope you like them, and as always any comments are more than welcome! ENJOY!!!!

If you would like! Let's just say that my wife's Star Wars RPG group has a killer back-story concerning the Mandalorian Mercs during the Galactic Civil War, that just SCREAMS insignias. In the mean time, here's one for all of the Clone Wars fans out there.
Here is the insignia for the 4th BTN 88th RGT Air Assault DIV who operated the LAAT-i Assassin during the Clone Wars.
The Aurabesh translates as from top to bottom as LAAT-i Assassin, "Feet First, Into HELL!!!" and 4th BTN 88th RGT Air Assault DIV
ENJOY!

I love the wampa squadron image.
Man, I would love to see your wife share some info and all the back stories of this SW RPG group she has going. I wish I had enough interest where I live to start one, but alas I am a small rose among the weed patch where I live. On the front page.

VA, I have a request to add to the mounting pile if I may.
This is a little unusual as it's more a company crest rather than a military one. I need a logo design for Viraxo Industries for the X-Wing project I'm working on.
Here is a link to their information on Wookipedia http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Viraxo_Industries (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Viraxo_Industries)
and here is a link to the K'Armyn Viraxo, the boss of the organisation: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/K'armyn_Viraxo (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/K'armyn_Viraxo)
No rush!

Thats no problem at all HB, thanks for the links, I read over the links that you attached and I have some ideas on where to go with this one.
-
awesome

Thanks VA...
Oh and I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the Stealth X-Wing squadron!
ps, I've got lots of images of Imperial, Alliance, Republic and New Republic ships that you may not have heard of, so if you need any inspiration just let me know.
Also Tamer beat me to it again this week with the FP treatment, so Insignia of the Week will have to move to next week....can't have you hogging all the limelight can we! ;)
-
Great stuff Viper, really good. Have u thought about doing nose art? I know personally I'd love something different for my ARC-170, Gunships, etc...

Thanks HB, please send me what you have (you have my e-mail), especially any other stealth x-wing pics you might have, and please don't worry about the Pic of the Week, it will come and quite frankly, by the time you post the one I sent you, you'll have a surplus to choose from LOL.

Never really thought about doing nose art, I've seen the one used in the Clone Wars animated series and thought they were pretty good but could use some improvement, let me see what I can come up with after doing a little research into it and talking to some of the bomber jocks on the base (the USAF is letting them paint nose art again, so long as it meets the current standards of decorum and is non-offensive)

Hello All,
I just wanted to give everyone a quick "heads up", I won't be posting images as frequently as I have been for at least the next 4 weeks. Myself and my Squadron are now in the process of transitioning from the F-16C Viper (please forget that "Fighting Falcon" crap LOL) to the new F-35A Lightning II. So that involves a lot of classroom time, simulator time and actual "stick" time. Once the transition operation is completed, and I get certified for the F-35A I will be back with some new and great ideas.
-
hey !! that sounds cool , what do's it mean ? ;D j/k sounds good to me

In the mean time, here is the latest insignia for fighter/attack fighter/spacecraft insignias. This one is for the Koensayer BTL-S8 K-Wing Thunderbolt. The design of the insignia was inspired from the current flight insignia for the A-10 Thunderbolt (AKA Wharthog) currently in use by the USAF. Any comments are, as always welcome!

hey !! that sounds cool , what do's it mean ? ;D j/k sounds good to me
Hey beige-4, it means that we are transitioning to a new fighter, that is more advanced than the current planes that we're flying right now. When you look at our current Vipers and the new Lightnings that we're going into, it's a whole new set of rules. I wish I could go into it further, but unfortunately, aside from mentioning the transition, all else is classified for right now.

SWEET GONGAS JULES !!!
-
Well, I got a couple of days off from training so I thought I would finish up a concept that I have been working on and off on.
Here is the insignia for the 501st Legion, 1st BN, 1st Infantry. The division was formed near the end on the Clone Wars and based on Courscant. One of their first missions was to assist Lord Darth Vader in carrying out Order 66 at the Jedi Temple. Since then, the 501st Legion 1st BN 1st INF has been detached to Lord Vader as his "personal" Infantry division under his direct command.
This insignia was adopted for the unit just after the formation of the 1st Galactic Empire and the formation of the Imperial Army, replacing the GAR at the end of the Clone Wars.
http://viperaviator.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d383860
After several unsuccessful attempts, I finally decided to utilize the distinctive blue helmet triangles seen in ROTS as the basis for the insignia, just like I did for the 501st Imperial Navy Fighter Group. The answer was staring me in the face this whole time and I never saw it until now DoH (LOL). Any comments are always welcome!

Here's one more that I knocked out, for the Imperial Army's Elite Snipers. ENJOY!!!!

Sweet sniper insignia!
I like that a good bit too. Expect to see it on the front page soon.
I was also wondering if you ever got rid of the background entirely? I am thinking of trying out a few over at www.vistaprint.com and seeing how these would look on a t-shirt. I think they would rock!

Beige-4 I take it you approve LOL, I would have thrown in the logo you provided for the UK Mandos that you provided but it was too small to work with. If you could provide a larger one, I'll remove the Mythosaur and replace it for you.

This insignia was inspired by Art-deWhill's very impressive painting of a Mandalorian Warrior. I did this based on the backround and armor that Art-deWhill utilized and the name (CloneSniper78) who commissioned the work.
So with that combination, I did the insignia for the Mandalorian Mercenaries Scout/Snipers. The Mandalorian translates as One Shot, One Kill.
Art-deWhill's work can be seen here, http://my.deviantart.com/messages/#/d397hpp
And here is the insignia, http://viperaviator.deviantart.com/art/Mandalorian-Scout-Sniper-Logo-196896628

Here is the insignia for Delta Squad, and this is the description of the unit:
Delta Squad was an elite clone commando squad that carried out demanding missions for the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Comprised of four clones of the Mandalorian bounty hunter, Jango Fett, Delta Squad included RC-1138, RC-1140, RC-1207, and RC-1262—informally known as "Boss", "Fixer", "Sev", and "Scorch", respectively. One of the twenty-five squads that comprised Arca Company of the Commando Group Zero Five Commando in the Grand Army's Special Operations Brigade, Delta Squad took their orders from the Director of Special Forces, Jedi General Arligan Zey, along with Zey's former Padawan, Bardan Jusik for the much of the war, and then from Jusik's replacement, Jedi Knight Etain Tur-Mukan. During several missions, the unit was also overseen in the field by clone advisor CC-01/425.
First deployed on Geonosis at the start of the Clone Wars, Delta Squad would go on play an instrumental role in the recapture of the RAS Prosecutor, as well as the rescue of fellow commando unit, Omega Squad. In conjunction with Omega, and working with two of the Null-class Advanced Recon Commandos under the direction of former Cuy'val Dar training sergeant Kal Skirata, Delta would take part in the shut down of a Separatist terror cell operating on Coruscant. The squad would be tasked with locating the Kaminoan defector Ko Sai, though their search would turn up nothing but the scientist's severed head. Delta Squad would again prove invaluable to the Republic in the lead up to the Battle of Kashyyyk, where they were able to rescue the Wookiee chieftain Tarfful from his Trandoshan slaver captors, defend Wookiee villages from Separatist battle droids, and even destroy a Recusant-class light destroyer. However, it was on Kashyyyk that Delta Squad would be forced to abandon one of their own, the commando known as Sev, when he came under fire and the squad received orders from Jedi Grand Master Yoda himself to immediately pull out. Delta Squad would go on to serve the newly-formed Galactic Empire as part of the 501st Legion's Imperial Commando Special Unit, where they were given a replacement for Sev, and tasked with hunting down Jedi who had escaped Order 66, along with clone deserters, Jedi sympathizers, and other Imperial dissidents.
From Wookieepedia
This insignia was inspired from the United States Army's Delta Force insignia. ENJOY!!!!

-
cool insignia!!
and yeah, Deltas are the best ......... okay, to be honest, I love every RC squad :D
-
Thanks Art, continuing with the Delta Squad story, I redid the insignia to reflect what it would look like when the unit became part of the Imperial Army after the end of the Clone Wars.
Here is the history:
"I hate this. And we've got some new guy taking Sev's place. It's temporary, though. He'd better understand that."
?Scorch, on his new life as an Imperial Commando.
Not long after the conclusion of Republic action on Kashyyyk and the issuing of Order 66, which branded the Jedi traitors to the Republic who were to be shot on sight, the Clone Wars would come to an end when the old Republic was transformed into the new Galactic Empire, under the leadership of the now Emperor Palpatine. Nearly eleven-hundred days after the Battle of Geonosis, the three remaining members of Delta Squad found themselves stationed at the Imperial Army Training Center on Centax-2, one of the moons of Coruscant and the location of the secret Spaarti cloning cylinder-based second clone army that Palpatine had created. There, they would continue to lament the loss of Sev, especially in the face of the revelation that although Omega Squad members Atin and Corr had deserted the Grand Army, Darman and Niner had joined Delta in the new Imperial Army because Darman had refused to leave a badly wounded Niner behind on his own.[
Three weeks after the formation of the new Empire, Delta Squad—with a new replacement for Sev among their ranks—gathered at the 501st Legion headquarters on Coruscant with a number of other former Republic commandos and Advanced Recon Commandos for an audience with Darth Vader. There, Vader reformed the Republic's former special forces soldiers as the Imperial Commando Special Unit, an elite unit within the Imperial 501st Legion that would be tasked with hunting down Jedi who managed to escape Order 66, along with clone deserters, Jedi sympathizers, and other Imperial dissidents. Their serial numbers' "RC" prefix replaced with an "IC" to denote their new position as Imperial Commandos, the squad would also find themselves given a different and more numerically-based name, similar to the former Omega Squad being deemed "Squad 40". Although initially under the command of the Emperor's Hand, Sa Cuis, the Imperial Commando Special Unit would be taken over by Imperial Commander Roly Melusar—a native of the planet Dromund Kaas and a man with a firm hatred of all Force-users—following Cuis' death. Though Fixer was impressed by Melusar's earnest style of command, it would be Melusar's zealous hate for the Jedi and all other beings who could wield the Force that would lead Scorch to tag Melusar with the nickname of "Holy Roly", a name that would in fact stick among the ranks of the Imperial Commando Special Unit.
(From Wookieepedia)
The insignia was re-colored black and red to look more "Imperial" in nature, as well as replacing the Republic Roundell with the Roundell of the First Galactic Empire and replacing the green Light Saber with a red one. The "Delta lightning bolt triangle remains unchanged from the original insignia. ENJOY!!!!

Just for fun, this is Delta Squad as seen through the helmet of a Predator. The photo manipulation was inspired by Chapter 1 of the fan made Star Wars series I.M.P.S.
You can watch the I.M.P.S. series here http://www.impstherelentless.com/tek9.asp it is really one of the best fan made series out there right now!

Amazing story man, the delta squad image is so cool!

OK, it's NOT Star Wars, but I thought I would share this you fine people to see what you think. It's the insignia for Xaviers School for Gifted Youngsters from the Marvel Comics X-Men series, it was done by special request. Any comments are, as always most welcome!

as always, very impressive work

Thanks Fiala, I love your work as well!
Now for something simple, I've been messing around with possible t-shirt or sweat shirt designs as well as some stationary for the Star Wars Universe, here's what I came up with so far. Please let me know what you think!

Daggone, speechless again! I am wasting my work time again!
I just spent the last half hour mezmirized by your graphics. I love the Tshirt designs and sure would love to see what you could come up with for an Imperialshipyards one.
That Stationary you created looks great too. Makes me wish I liked to write notes more as I would have me some of that in SW forms!
That last rendering of that Slave I going after the Falcon was great too. Time for the fp again!
-
Tamer, thanks for the FP, as for an Imperial Shipyards t-shirt design, ask and 'ye shall receive, let me know what you think!

that looks like the code for a slideshow. If you click on just one image in your album, does it produce a control for you to see the image code of that image?
OK, I got it for you. Can you click modify your post and see what I changed? You just had [ img ] [\ img ] in there twice. Our server automatically sets an image size if it is too big
-
Thanks Hangarbay94 and Clonehead SUCCESS MUHAHAHAHA
-
glad to help. that is a sharp design indeed.
-
Thanks Clonehead, here is the same design only done in white for darker colored garments.

Continuing with the trend I started with the letterhead for Industrial Automaton, here is the next in the series letterhead for the Incom Corporation
(http://i1111.photobucket.com/albums/h477/viperaviator/IncomCorpLetterhead.png)
-
Those re nice!
-
Uh, can I order about a hundred! That Tshirt design is so sharp. Daggone.
I have got to see what this looks like a tshirt from vistaprint. Wow, thanks VA your graphics skills are pretty fantastic.
-
Thanks guys, I'm glad you like them and Tammer if you want shirts made try www.customink.com there very good
-
Thanks guys, I'm glad you like them and Tammer if you want shirts made try www.customink.com there very good
I will have to give them a look too. The only thing I worry about is getting the background clear like you have it. I should be able to photoshop your image and erase the background myself, but if not I will let you know.
The only reason I say vistaprint is because I have used them before and they don't have a minimum order, but this will be my next tshirt. Just awesome once again guy and thanks again.
-
Neither does customink.com, and the black version has a transparent background the white one does not, if you need me to send you the transparent .png images, I will be more than happy to do so
-
Well now I will really look at them then.
As for sending me the images, and you might know more about this than I, but I think when you send them it puts some type of background in them anyway.
-
Nope, everything in the background is clear as glass
-
This is what I am meaning about not getting a clear background. Here is what I am trying to do.
(http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f115/CTtamer/Tamer%20continued/livepreviewCA1ZNLBA.jpg)back
-
I see what went wrong, I posted the black print version with a transparent background and the one with the white print I left the background black so it would stand out more when I posted it up.
-
I just tried going into photoshop and erasing the background and can't get it to work. Probably something I am doing, but if you get one to work out like that save and post a pic of that here if you could. I sure want a shrit like that!
-
Oh yeah, getting there. If there is anyway we can make that back logo larger great, if not it is ok to go with as is.
This is just rocking. I am gonna get a black and a white.
-
Heck, those logos and T'Shirts are absolutely spot on!
-
Yep, bigger would be better. That way, more people could see and read it. I wouldn't mind having two like that. 1 with the big logo on the back and 1 with the big logo on the front for reviews and wintertime public appearances with a jacket on.
-

I agree they are fantastic.

Thats a good point Clint. If we could get that logo I have on the back bigger I would get one with it on front so I could use it in some youtube vids. I know how graphics are though and sometimes bigger isn't always easier so we will see what VA says. I wish you could make things larger without pixelating like you can make big images smaller. What a great design though.
-
The larger logos are done and e-mailed to you Tamer, now based on one of your suggestions, here is a letterhead that I did for the Imperial Shipyards I hope you like it my friend
(http://i1111.photobucket.com/albums/h477/viperaviator/ImperialShipyardsLetterhead.jpg)
-
wow
the shirts are great
I would like to have one if it is possible
I don't have any SW clothing but a ISY shirt would be a nice start for a collection
-
Ok, VA was very accomodating and this is what I was able to get that larger graphic to do using Vistaprint.
Now these in black ain't cheap by a long shot (34 bucks with shipping), but you do not have to have a minimum order. I have one ordered right now so I can make sure they will print ok, and if they do I plan on calling them and seeing if they can work out some type of deal (they do free one side printing and tshirts on occasion) to try and get these cheaper, but I am so excited by this great new tshirt design. VA, you have really outdone yourself this time and that new letterhead is great too. I love the lettering on the words too.
-
They do look good and I can understand that price for 1 shirt but I can get these done for around $10 - $12 per shirt if you get 20-25 shirts.
-
Yep, now that's a shirt I would wear with pride!
-
The shirt looks really, really nice! I think I sense an Imperial Shipyards store in the near future
-

Well if you want to organize something like that with this design I sure as heck would like more!

I think as long as we didn't try to make a profit we would be ok, but I will look into it. It is a lot of web work getting an estore in place (if you are talking shopping cart, shipping, etc.) though.
-
I cleaned up the letterhead a little bit so the the printing did not look like well, crap for lack of a better term LOL so here is the modified version

You could always start small, just making the shirts available to the site members, Why dont you start a poll to gage interest in the project?
-
Wow, I love that letterhead. That new lettering is great. I also really like the red outlining of the black text. What is that font if I may ask?
As for starting small that is definitely the way to go, and if someone wants to organize a poll that would be great. Your designs are just over the top guy. I am surprised someone hasn't grabbed you up just like Hangarbay94 and asked you to make sci-fi graphics all day long.

Thanks Tamer, believe me I get a fare share of requests for graphics, just look at my Deviant Art page LOL as for the font it's called Engli-Besh available for free download here http://www.erikstormtrooper.com/englibesh.htm

Here's the latest in the Letterhead Series, this one if for the Corellian Engineering Corporation ENJOY

Which company made the Walkers?
This is a great one too. I am gonna download that Font!
-
Thanks Tammer, the Walkers were designed the Imperial Department of Military Research, Assembled by Kuat Drive Yards with the primary construction facility being the Imperial Robotics Construction Facility Ice Station Beta. Sorry TMI LOL
-
Sweet info. I would love to see what you would create for those guys.
Anyhow, thanks to you I have spent the last hour downloading fonts. I replaced a graphic on the front page using these new fonts. Thanks for helping this place look good guy! I love it.
-
Hey Tamer, I could not resist the temptation, here is the letterhead for Kuat Drive Yards, builders of the AT-AT's and many, many other things BTW, if you looking for really great fonts try here, http://www.iconian.com/

Daggone, I am on graphic overload. Sweet! I could even envision silouhettes of all their vehicles on that great symbol and lettering too.
I also found that place on a link for your last link if that makes any sense. I am gonna have to check that out too. I like the Red Five Font too.

I just use the outline tool after selecting the text or object I wish to outline, on another note I thought you would appreciate this site,http://riptapparel.com/ I have submitted work to them in the past and have received a HUGE collection of t-shirts and some coin on the side.

Here is my attempt to come up with an ancient Jedi document that outlines the Jedi Code. It translates as:
There is no emotion,
there is peace.
There is no ignorance,
there is knowledge.
There is no passion,
there is serenity.
There is no death,
there is the Force.
Please let me know what you think

I will give that site a look. Thirty four shipped for a front and back printed tshirt is a bit much for my tastes. I would love to start an estore selling some Shipyards merchandise, but once again using any type of Star Wars image (even the movie type lettering) would be considered fraud and ole George has taken on some folks that have done that. Copyright infringement and all that and figuring what is and what isn't allowed hurts my head. Still, it would be great just to give the Shipyarders a cost place to get some ISY stuff!
As for your latest Jedi one I like! That parchment feel to it with that lettering is just faded enough that you could still write on it and not get distracted by it imo. I know one thing I think I have your designs as wallpapers on almsot all of my computers and that is quite a few. I have one of Hangarbay94s on another and one of SithLord229s on the final. Counting work and home I have 8 puters.
-
Good point about ol' George. So I am thinking what if you use a custom vehicle on the shirt? I would love to see one of Julian's vehicles worked into something for this? Or how about that scratch built Star Destroyer in the vehicle thread? George doesn't own that one!
-

I think it's more the actual names and logos that he owns. An image or shape can loose it's copyright if it's color changes or even if it is inverted, i believe.
-
That is what I was wondering Clint.
-
Well for any of that I think we are ok as long as we don't make a profit, but the legalities get sticky real quick. I am even wondering if it had a "likeness" to a SW image or graphic if we would be ok.
I would also guess that George would probably have bigger fish to fry than us, but I believe SW Shop is the only exclusive place allowed to make and print SW shirts and clothing. It is worth looking into. I will add that to my list this week to check up on the legalities of it or see if there is a free blog or chat room or something I can find with a real lawyer where I can get some advice.
-
Featured this on the front page. You keep this up you may be on it everyday!

I agree that would be neat to have 2 different versions. I am very excited to see what they look like when they are done!
-
I have one on order folks. I will model it (hopefully not break my camera) when I get it!
-
While this one is NOT Star Wars related, I had to share it with you fine people to see what you think of it. It's my version of letterhead for Indiana Jones, LLC Fortune and Glory.

Do you offer those for sale on the web site?
-
Shawn that shirt looks awesome! Now get some fertilizer on that fescue!
-
super cool!!!!!
the shirt turned out great.
-
Do you offer those for sale on the web site?
No, it is illegal to use any SW graphic to make a profit so right now I just uploaded graphics from Viper Aviator on a site called Vistaprint.com which is a fairly easy to use put your graphic on anything. I will see today if you can get access to my tshirt design I uploaded and you could just order them the same as me, but this one was pretty pricey.
I aim to try and see if I can find someone to print these in a larger quantity for less per tshirt than this one, vistaprint lets you order just one shirt and I am gonna see if they will discount them in a larger order so stay tuned folks. The only gripe I have is that this black shirt is very lightweight, which for summer would be good for a black shirt, and seems kinda scratchy (I am gonna give it a wash) and see how it goes.
Viper Aviator suggest www.customink.com, but I could get their grahpics upload to work for me at all so I didn't see what their price was and they took all the white out of the lettering on the back decal, which I really like.
Shawn that shirt looks awesome! Now get some fertilizer on that fescue!
My grass is toast L.E. We had a drought last summer and I have no idea what I am in for this year. I need someone with some experience to tell me what to do with it!
-
HAHA, just had to throw that in there buddy. ;D Send me some photos of a few spots and I'll have a look. Sorry I can't just stop by. HAHA

LOL! Oh I agree with you, I appreciate you being willing to give me your professional opinion. Now if I could get you to fill your car up with $49 dollar walkers and just head North. Hmm.....
-
Well I found a good reason to head to that area and stopped by the mart but all 9 walkers I left there were GONE! I bet most of them are on ebay...

Adm. Strang In Oil
Prior to the Battle of Yavin, Strang was in command of a team of storm commandos, elite troopers of the Empire's Stormtrooper Corps. Later in the war, he was promoted to the rank of Admiral and placed in command of the Conqueror, an Imperial-class Star Destroyer equipped with a superlaser. He encountered the Rebel Alliance's Renegade Squadron led by Col Serra when they infiltrated the Conqueror in the Mustafar system. Strang and his storm commandos were defeated by the Renegades, who proceeded to place thermal detonators on ship's reactor core. The detonators were triggered and the ship was destroyed, but before the explosion an X4 Gunship was able to escape from the Conqueror. One of the Renegades speculated that this ship may have been carrying Strang

Sweet graphic and backstory!
I wonder if this will make it to the front page? Stupid question!

Thanks Tamer, here's another one that I just completed, it's my version of the ship's portrait for the ISD Avenger rendered in oil.

Both images are fantastic! Great graphic skills I love both! Is that your design on that first awesome Star Destroyer?

Thank you for the very nice compliment, If I understand you correctly, the Star Destroyer is really a publicity photo from Episode V, the backround is custom

both images are great VA
the Star Destroyer with superlaser looks very interesting and powerful
it seems, the arsenal of the Empire is limitless

Awesome images! That Star Destroyer with the super laser is sick.

Thanks for all of the kind words my friends, I'm glad you like the renders. Stay tuned, there are more to come!

I really like that Boba and the Star Destroyer: two classic images rendered very well!

Thank you all for all of the great compliments. Here is one I call The Arrival. Rendered it in oil from a screen cap from Episode V The Empire Strikes Back Special Edition.

Yes they are all done in photoshop, some are left as is, while some are modified with custom backrounds, lighting etc. For example, the the Star Destroyer was a physical model with the backround custom rendered

wonderful graphics VA
the Boba image with the burning Mythosaur skull is epic

Thanks FF, I am now a huge fan of your CAD artwork! Here is something just a little different, it's a modified render of the Tantive 4 utilizing oil and colored pencil filters.

Thanks Captain, I'm really trying to refine the art of Photoshop

The Tantive IV looks great; you've made this fit seamlessly into the background. Simply, simply amazing work!

Tantive 4 looks great! Keep em coming!!
Say what program do you do your "unit patch/roundels" with?
-

Thanks JediMerc, I was trying out a new (well for me) technique that I saw on Youtube.
Tantive 4 looks great! Keep em coming!!
Say what program do you do your "unit patch/roundels" with?
It really depends on how complex the design is, for really complex designs I use Illustrator for easy ones I either use Illustrator or GIMP, and thanks for the compliment of the Tantive IV, I'm still trying to come up with a design for your Shrike that do it justice.
-
Sweet! Don't be in any hurry man, I'm just honored you're making one with the Shrike.
I have never used Gimp.. I have several versions of Paint and Paint Shop Pro 9. It's pretty good- though i switch between That and Paint.Net for image manipulation.
-
Viper, your renders are getting better and better, I can see some of the Photoshop effects and you are beginning to use them more creatively.
We need a dedicated Viper Aviators Composites post my friend!!!!
-
Thanks for the nice compliment Jules, a separate topic hummmm, interesting idea
-
That is some great artwork! I really like seeing Boba Fett.

With the very kind permission of Road Warrior I present the first element that is going into the flight patch/insignia for his custom Incom I-22 Shrike, sorry it was so overdue, but now things are falling into place with this project. Comments welcome! ENJOY

Daggone, this looks freaking sweet.
Look for it on the fp soon.

Nice work.

I love it. Also, that is my favorite Republic logo version as well. Viper- you the man.
Overdue? Nah, real life comes first my friend.:)
-
Thats nice!
-
this looks pretty cool!!
-
phenomenal VA
the Shrike looks great with the decals
-
Thanks for all of the comments on the Shrike! The final version(s) should be up by the end of the week. In the meantime, here is a quick one done by request for the New Republic Special Forces. The insignia was based on the current US Army Special Forces "arrowhead". ENJOY

-
Sweet! :)
-
too cool man! have you done a " vulture squadron " because i'm sure i remember you doing one
-
Thanks for the compliments they are very much appreciated! As for Vulture Squadron, the closest one that I did to that was Clawbird Squadron for Hangarbay94.
-
so you havent made vulture squadron ..
-
No but I would love to give it a shot. Who are they with? Empire, New Republic, Rebel Alliance? and what do they fly?
-
The Shrike insignias and design looks fantastic. The NR Special Forces insignia commands attention, though; great work!
-
Thanks JediMerc, very much appriciated. Now here is a re-mastered version of the insignia for the Corporate Sector Authority (CSA) with the proper in-universe Engli-Besh and Aurebesh.

Your insignias are getting better and better VA
The New Republic Special Forces insignia is awesome

VA, sorry I've not checked in for a while....
Have to say this last piece is stunning, the shading adds so much more depth, and the concept is very cool....
-
Looks good to me, back on the front page Cal!
-
It's really been a while since I came up with an original insignia, and for that I apologize. But to make up for it, I submit this.
It is a possible center section for the insignia of the Imperial Navy TIE Fighter Advanced Combat School (The name is the center section is just a WIP) any comments would be greatly appreciated.
-
This one is really amazing man!
-
That looks really cool!
-
Looks great Cal. On the front page.
Man, I have been gone about a week, but there are just some outstanding things in here. Fantastic.
-
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback and the wonderful comments. Well this is a WIP and is still I WIP. I was looking at it for hours last night because I thought that something was missing and not quite right and then when I woke up this morning and it dawned on me, I NEED AN EXPLOSION IN THERE! So I went back and added one. I think it gives it more of a dramatic effect.
Now it's time to move onto the border for the insignia, and I think I'm going with The Galactic Imperial Navy Fighter Combat Academy. Any thoughts, suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated!
-
Nice stuff man!
-
I like both shots, one of the back detail of the xwing and one with the explosion. Cool deal.
-
and I think I'm going with The Galactic Imperial Navy Fighter Combat Academy. Any thoughts, suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated!
I think with that ^^ you should add "The 1%'ers"
Meaning the top 1% of the Imperial Navy that actually shot down an X Wing!
:)
-
Well, here is the semi-finished version with the outline and lettering in both Aurebesh and Engli-Besh
(http://i1111.photobucket.com/albums/h477/viperaviator/FighterCombatAcademy.png)
-
Whoow that turn out amazing!
-
Wow, that turned out awesome!
-
Thanks guys, I'm glad you all are enjoying my work, and please feel free to use any of my images any way that you would like. The only thing I ask is that if you do so, please give me credit.
-
Now onto the next project.
Today, a friend of mine found a hand drawn insignia for the Imperial 181st Fighter Group and asked me to vectorize it. I kept the original design of the drawing made by decajun4513 over at www.omegawing.net with the only alterations being the orientation of the TIE Interceptor and the lettering in the bottom ribbon. I did it in both the "in-universe; Aurebesh and the "fan accepted "Engli-Besh".
I want to give the utmost credit to decajun4513 for coming up with original design. He or she has a great creative talent.
If anyone here knows decajun4513 please point him or her to this image, I would really like to know his or her thoughts on this image.
Here is a direct link to decajun4513's original hand drawn image: http://omegawing.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5722&sid=5aad2bc3ac99ae175a32a16e50150c25

Love the explosion effect on the previous work and man that 181st Tie looks amazing! Very nice work Cal!
-
Thats incredible, love the desing and colors!
-
Cal you are getting good. Back on the front page with you.
I would love to buy a T full of those graphics, or better yet a bomber jacket full of patches with your insignias.
-
Great insignia Viper!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the compliments.
For this next batch I went back to the old drawing board and did a redsign of the New Republic Navy Fighter Weapons School and a redesign of one of the the Aggressor Squadrons assigned to the school called the "Eyeballers" I'm working on there sister squadron's insignia, the "Squints" right now and I hope to have it done before the end of the weekend.

I had some unexpected downtime, so I used it to my advantage to finish up the insignia for the "Squints" Aggressor Squadron.

Being a TIE Bomber fan, that last pair is my favorite design. ;D However, they are ALL outstanding!
-
Thanks Doc, the TIE Bomber has always been one of my favorites as well. Although, I think it was really underused in the Original Trilogy. I have always thought of it as a "multi roll" fighter along the same lines of the F-16C Viper (Fighting Falcon), F/A-18F Super Hornet or more accurately the F-15E Strike Eagle, Meaning that it could fight it's way into it's target zone, drop it's ordinance on the target and then fight it's way out.
-
Wow Cal, I think we need a week of Viper Aviator. I will try to upload one a day to the front page. They are just outstanding.
-
nice !!

Well, here is the last squadron from the New Republic Navy Fighter Weapons School Aggressors (at least for the canon imperial fighters anyway). The Hunters flying the TIE Advanced X1

Heres a simple one this time around. It's for the 501 Fighter Group 'Vader's Fist" The blue triangle in the background is meant to be a homage to the 501st Clone Troopers seen in Episode III. This is dedicated to the Fan Group the 501st Legion.

A modified version for the insignia for the 501st Fighter Group "Vader's Fist" this one features a TIE Interceptor with custom wing markings inspired by those seen on the TIE Interceptors belonging to the 181st Fighter Group

Wow, those are nice too Cal.
-
Thanks Shawn, this one is right up your alley!
This is an example of the Imperial Army flag customized to represent a specific unit. In this case the 3rd Brigade (BDE) 1st Infantry "Landkillers" operating the AT-AT Walker. This flag could be displayed inside and outside of the units base or in some cases, flown on the AT-AT's.

Please understand that I'm not trying to be a jerk in any way, but Coruscant is spelled incorrectly.
-
Sorry about the misspelling of Courscant, I've always been hit or miss on that. My bad, I will correct it shortly. I got the inspiration to modify the logo based on the same t-shirt that I ordered from RIPT Apparel. But instead I wanted to make ir more fighter specific, that why I changed the header and footer to Imperial Fighter Pilot Academy Courscant, from the t-shirt version that read Imperial Academy Pilot Institute Courscant while still trying to keep the overall collegiate look and feel.
here is the original design from RIPT Apparel
