After looking at everyone elses work, I thought I might give this a try!
I started by doing a simple corridor, with the help from NuibNuib's decals.
-
Welcome aboard, Panther! Looks like a pretty slick dio there, those decals are spot on!
-
Thank you
I keep this in my cellar and my local toad thought it was tasty. Needless to say he no longer leaves here!

LOL! Hey, toads need to eat too, I guess.
-
I decided to another corridor, a little longer this time, I love the vinyl black flooring it really makes it look good!
The 3rd level I diced to be a little adventurous and do the prison block. Building around and upon Detention Block rescue set.
The consoles I am proud of.

My latest scene, using the Escape the Death Star playset as a base.
And right now it presently looks like this!

Still pleanty more rooms to build on.

That's a big set-up you have there and a lot of work involved. The consoles do look good. You need to make a Trash Compactor Room and let your toad (Toadanoga?) move in there.
-
My plan is to make to Trash compactor scene, console room, bridge and possibly the laser to sit on top.
This has taken me about 4 months to build on and off!
-
Good !
Maybe you should double layers of foamcore between two levels. It's a good material, but it has his limits.
(That's why my DS Emperor's arrival dio doesn't update for now, I'm working on TIE's rack, with speficics needs, pictures to come on my topic).
-
I was thinking that, or possibly putting a doorway in the middle to stop the floor above bowing.
-
Wow, what an awesome dio. Love the idea of added layers to keep it from bowing. Look for this on the fp soon.
-
Welcome aboard Panther, thats an awesome dio you have build there, looks really cool!
Damien.
-
Welcome once again and your diorama is now on our front page. I hope we see more.
-
How many ink cartridge did you use ? I don't want have to pay the bill ;)
I don't know the cost of foam core for you, but for me, it's very expensive, more or less 1€ for an A4 5mm sheet.
-
Wow love the front page, thank you very much! Don't worry there is more to come of this and also working on my next project too.
This took about 6 sheets of foam core and god bless laser printers
-
Only 6 ? I guess it's not A4 sheets (21 * 29,7 cm) :o
-
No, I get mine A1 size, and use as much as possible so there is very little waste! I get it around £7.99 a sheet.
-
Very nice work on the death star! Thanks for sharing!
-
Awesome!
-
Hehe a toad. Sorry to hear about that, but it's funny.
Vader: Prepare the Ion Cannon! Toadzilla is coming.
Stormie 1: Aah! (Points to the Toad.) It's Godzilla!
Stormie 2: No it's not, due to Toho copyright it looks like Godzilla, but it's not.
Stormie 1: Still, we should run like it is Godzilla!
Stormie 2: But it's not.
Stormie 1 & 2: Aah!
Sorry, once again a Austin Powers relation.
-
UPDATE!
The latest room in my Death Star, the bridge / control room. I decided to make this one smaller than my previous ones.
I made 5 more consoles, these, they may look good but man these things back breaking and fiddly!
I love using the black vinyl for the floor, see the reflection of the neon wall decal!

Viewing screen added.
Added Grand Moff Tarkin, Chief Bast, a Death Star Trooper and no Death Star would be complete without a Mouse Droid!
-
Final shots!
Can't decide where to put it! I think I should have thought about this better LOL! Think I might have to build something to go along side it to even the whole thing out!

Awesome pics and job on these!
-
I like it !
-
Looks good. On the fp.
-
Thanks for the fp but it's not finished yet, plenty more to do with it. I am now getting worried on how big this might get!!
-
THAT IS SIMPLY AMAZING,IF YOU DON'T MIND ME ASKING,WHERE DID YOU GET THE DECALS FOR THE INSIDE,IS THERE A WEBSITE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THOSE FROM?
-
The decals where downloaded from http://www.niubniubsuniverse.com
-
Sweet work on your Death Star, Panther! Welcome to the Shipyards!
-
My latest addition, the Jedi Duel. I thought no Death Star is complete without this classic face off between Darth Vader and Obi Wan.
-
I am going to redo the main photo, did it late last night, while trying to work out the layout. Thinking that the red room, conference room and maybe the trash compactor will be final things for this before I start my next project.
I hope you enjoy these pictures!
-
As promised a slightly better picture than last one.
-
This is on a good way ! ;D
-
Before I started building my next section, I thought it was about time I sorted out a bowing problem and an upgrade to my big corridor. I have been looking at this and thinking that it needed something, apart from the big blast door it looked too square. I have built a square archway which will support the floor above and stop it from bowing. I also put in 2 small wall columns, ithis has given it a more Death Star feel.
-
Looking awesome! Love the dual scene!
-
Great look on dio you have to start a Hanger with that dio.
-
NN-U addict ;)
-
Funny enough I was thinking about that today, but as you can see I am starting to run out of room before it hits the ceiling. One of the nice things about this design is that I can rearrange each peice so I can add more to it. I think what I am going to do is build the conference and console room to go on the left and a hanger to sit on top the 3 corridors.
-
this is pretty cool, I started a DS dio but the decals took up too much ink so I decided to go with 3D walls and paint them, this looks cool tho, but oh, so much ink
-
Luckily I have access to laser printer so it hasn't been that bad. I have thought about using paints but I'm colour blind and don't want to mess it up!
-
super cool stuff!!
-
Update!!
It has taken about 3 weeks but I have finally built and completed the DS Console Room. One of the most fiddly things out of my entire build.
-
Thought I'd add a couple more shoots of how my Death Star looks at the moment.
-
Those re awesome pics man, great dio!
-
That is really awesome! These pics are making me want to redo mine!
-
Great !
More and more complete !
-
It is with deep regret that I must inform you that apart from tweeks and knowing that if I want to add anything else to this, I must relocate my dio to a bigger house. I have now completed my DS dio. Thanks JRTrooper for the idea of a hanger because this is what I did. It filled a nice hole at the top. See what you think of the hanger and the final thing put together.
