Terra Utahraptor Review:
Terra is a company that is known primarily for their static vinyl dinosaurs and farm animals. They have made the move to hard plastic articulated figures with this electronic light and sound Utahraptor. How does their first articulated figure rank? Lets take a look.
The sculpt is passable but not very scientifically accurate. It looks and feels like a toy. The Utahraptor features 5 points of articulation- hinged jaw (tied to the light and sound action feature and activated by pulling down the left arm), swivel shoulders (move in tandem and are tied to the light and sound action feature) and swivel hips (very small range of motion). The deco is simplistic but still pretty vibrant.
The figure falls short of being great by virtue of the simple sculpt and paint, the majority of the articulation being tied in with the action feature and the low range of motion in the legs. It stands well, is solidly constructed and quite large for the $9.99 price tag. Terra did not put the best foot forward for their first attempt at an articulated figure. Hopefully future figures will be better.
