Custom Republic Commando Speeder Bike
« on: August 31, 2010, 01:52:22 PM »
Well I had a busted old vintage speeder bike that was missing parts so i turned it into this......  figured things would be a little more dynamic if he wasn't sitting up, ironically where the missing handlebars connect is where his hands can latch on..........comments welcome!

Those are some sweet mods to your speeder bike. What parts did you use, and what paint apps are you planning?

I REALY like this idea.  the positioning of the figure makes perfect sense.  I would add a footpad or two behind the figure to prevent the "superman" position effect of him just holding onto the handlebars.  At the same time I would remove the footpeddals from the underside, they are pretty useless down there if the figure isn't going to be sitting upright.
I like all the greeblie details you used and the new gun on top looks sharp too.

I too really like this idea you have going here. I agree with spud on everything ye added. I would want to leave the legs for it to stand on but remove the foot pedals and put them on the upper back greeblie by his feet. Great use of a 12" figure pistol for the front gun. Looks great so far!

or instead of removing the "legs" of the speeder you could attach a sheet of plastic or car-stock to them and make an extra set of meneuvering vanes or wings?  but still, he needs foot pedals where his feet are at.
