I highly recommend it! Partly because I pushed *hard* for him to make us a set of action-fig-scaled terrain and partly because it is a good basic set. I believe several other items in the Finger & Toe line can be used with the A:O set to build some great scenery, even if they may be in a smaller scale. I'll be building up some of them to showcase how things can work together in the near future.
Oh, I built everything using scissors. I used the back of an x-acto knife for the score lines, but you could likely use a butter knife or something else not sharp. I did not score and fold the drum - instead, I wrapped it around vitamin bottles, film cans, and on down in size until it held a curl close to the right radius and then folded down the tabs and glued first the vertical seam and clamped it in place. Once that had set, I glued down both ends and set a paint bottle on it to hold everything in place.
Very fast and easy to build - and, as you can see, quite versatile.
