Re: Hangarbay94's Customs - Teracon Squadron
« Reply #840 on: November 03, 2012, 08:47:42 AM »
Once again I have to apologize for not being as active as I'd like on the forums, I don't have much time at the moment to divert to my hobby, but what time I do have is very precious to me.

This weekend I had some time to complete some customs that are going to be used for the X-Wing Alliance series. (I'm using CGI heads but still using custom figures for body shots).

Here are the first pilots from Teracon (*EDIT- correct spelling Terecon - will amend) Squadron. Based aboard the Winged Cruiser Liberty and one of the early squadrons to receive the new B-Wing starfighter, they are also kitted out with the new Alliance flight suits. Since the battle of Yavin they have suffered severe losses...that is until Rancor Squadron arrive...

*Terecon - An 8 meter long reptilian predator found on the planet Essowyn.

OMG Jules, those paints apps are feakin' awesome!! I love the Rebel insignia on the sleeves!! Great work. "Terecon" makes me think of Transformers for some reason.

Thanks Jason, it's taken a while for my reply... apologies...

Anyway, onto my latest set of figures.... Here are some of the crew from the Karak Mothership, the male is a fighter pilot, the female is a security officer.... The inspiration for these costumes is a cross between the Moonraker and Space 1999 outfits...I'm trying for 70's sci-fi look.

And here is the ships captain...

What try?  You did!  Cool stuff!  I remember watching Space 1999.  That's the one where they're on the Moon and the Moon leaves Earth's orbit, right?

Mission Acomplished! Also a daring move repainting the vintage Dusty figure. It too has paid of hansomly. Can't wait to see all of these figures brought togther.

Your new rebel squadron is perfect! I'm a great fan of your custom figures, their paint is impressive. If you're considering to sell one of your custom, let me know.

This is a little gem I picked up on E-Bay last week.... I've customised the 70's toy which is to scale with Star Wars figures...

V.I.N.C.E.N.T has to be one of my favourite sci-fi robots of all time. VINCENT was arguably the main character in the film The Black Hole, with Roddy McDowel doing a wonderful voice over. For those of you who are too young to remember the Disney movie The Black Hole, it was a rather dark Space Opera released in 1978, music was by John Barry of James Bond fame.... The Film is a cross between Star Wars and 2001, an enjoyable film to watch simply because of it's unusual Disney styling. There are rumours of a remake, with nods to the film in Tron Legacy.

Yes, there were some genuinely stunning moments in the film, especially the moment when Cygnus is first seen in shadow....
