Hi All

Guys thank you all very much for all the great feedback.  I actually enjoyed having the figures articultaed especially in small dios as this so expect to see more in the future.

Jedi Minstrel - mate the TAKE COVER dio with the endor trooprs damn that was a long time ago and glad you still enjoyed that dio.

spudafett - I think it's based on a baccura helmet just with a Sandtrooper version.

Trandoshanslaver1138 - It's a Sandtrooper and the colour is Biege Brown from Vallejo Paints and then dark brown and light brown pastels used over the top of that.

I don't mean to muck up Ron's thread, but just got in a very special order for my little gal from Ron. Ron, it was the highlight of her birthday. I have just some great video I will be sending your way on how well it was recieved.

Folks take it from me, Ron is one of those rare souls and he just made my little gal's birthday over the top. It is so much appreciated.

Hi All

Nothing to over the top just a simple repaint and weather and a new dio.  I had a lot of people email me ask if I was going to start doing more figures and articulation like I did for the Assualt Sandtrooper custom below. The answer to that is yes and there will be a lot more to come on.

As everyone knows I'm more of a static figure customizer/diorama maker and when I was commissioned to do a lot of Sandtrooper paint apps I got hooked on doing more articulated figures after finishing them.

So I thought I would start of by doing a articulated figure of my favourite SW character the figure and dio were painted using Vallejo and GW paints and weathered using Vallejo paints and pastels.

RECIPE

Figure - The figure is the 2010 vintage Sandy that came with the Dewback and was painted and weathered with no conversions done to it except the rifle which as had a longer barrel put on it from a 1/72 scale tank barrel.

Base - The base I got from the craft store for 10 cents and the moisture evaporator is from hasbro which was pulled apart to give it a different look. The base was built up with plaster and woodglue/PVA and sand was added while it was drying, once dry the whole thing was painted and weathered.

I already commented on this one in another forum, but wanted to say that I could look at your customs all day long.

.... but wanted to say that I could look at your customs all day long.

I second that!  The customs themselves are great but the length you go to to add a mini diorama just adds to their epicness.  (and the fact that I have always loved the sandtroopers justs adds to my love of your most recent works...)

your paint and weathering job makes that helmet sculpt look good, I never liked that helmet but your talent makes it look very good. I might have to go give that figure a second look.
