Hi again everyone!

Well, since I made the concept AT-AT, I figured I should spruce up an older scratchbuild I did of a McQuarrie Snowspeeder.  It originall looked like this:

I didn't like the heavy laser cannon placement, and the color seemed more 'desert environment' to me, so I masked off the windows, re-primed it, added some landing skids, and repositioned the guns.  I also decided to go with a hasty 'white wash' effect, inspired by German WWII tanks that were used in the invasion of the Soviet Union.

I'm much happier with how this looks now.  This piece was originally completed early last year (heck...it may even have been 2008), but I think it holds up okay.  The detailing on the bottom is a bit on the light side, but it'll do:

The cockpit on this project is still my favorite that I've done.  The joystick is articulated, and it comfortably fits a figure.

With the AT-AT and a figure for scale:

Let me know what you think, and thanks for looking.

Nice update to the speeder. Man, I love those interior shots!

he used mcquarrie's concept matt paintings for his design inspiration I believe... oddly enough however the eu potf airspeeder was based on the same concept designs that mcquarrie drew up.

This one was a quick build, since I made it for a buddy who only wanted the exterior to fill out a Mos Eisley diorama:

WIP (basic cosntruction, puttied and sanded)

Primed!

Complete:

With Luke's Speeder:

And a Stormie for scale:

That is correct!  The airspeeder is pretty much identical to McQuarrie's illustration.

Glorbes that is awesome buddy! I would like to build this one day. I had thought about cutting the main shape from a block of wood. Your all styrene build is simply perfect. What putty do you use for all the joints?

Sweet vehicle. Daggone I envy you folks who can just build these wonderful things. You don't have to wait for Hasbro to do it and you can always make it right. On the front page  yet again.

Thanks for the kind words, fellas...and for the nod on the front page!

What putty do you use for all the joints?

I use Bondo Spot and Glazing Putty...it's an automotive putty.  Really nasty stuff, so have some windows open and wear a dust mask and goggles when you sand it.  I'm pretty sure that most modeling putties are really bad for your health, and this one comes in a tube that's much larger than the model stuff for the same price.

Very nice,   This vehicle has been on my "to do " list for a long time,   yours turned out great.

As for the spot putty, I use that alot in my custom vehicles, you just need to watch the type of base plastic it goes on as with some of the cheaper toys it can chemically melt the plastic it and cause it not to harden, I experienced that with the CORPs tank I was working on.

Sarge, are you saying it will not work on the Corps vehicles?
