2011 "Vintage" Vehicle: Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder
« on: February 17, 2010, 07:08:28 AM »
over on Toymania they asked a question which was :

Any chance we'll see a re-issue of the old Saga TRU exclusive Land Speeder? That was a great looking vehicle.

hasbro then answered their question with this reply :

Yes indeed, we are looking at getting this back out, likely in 2011.

That's good to hear... Luke's resculpted landspeeder is really a cool item and deserves to be back in the mix. It's not as big as a regular vehicle, so I assume we'll see it as some sort of store exclusive again.
 :) :) :) :) :)

Wasn't it like a TRU exclusive last time? I missed that one.

When they do release it, they should  make the package in a vintage style. That would be cool. ;D

Vintage packaging on this one would be cool too.  I'm wondering if they'd do any modifications to the existing mold.

I've seen several discussion threads which seem to indicate a lot of folks believe the last mold (tweaked from the 1995 version or completely new I don't know) is pretty accurate.  I've never compared pictures of the onscreen version to that of the latest toy so I might have to do that.

The common complaint is that it just wasn't painted accurately.  Lately though, Hasbro has opted for less paint and/or weathering so I have a feeling those in the "inaccurate paint camp" will be equally disappointed again.

If they just re-release the last landspeeder (2002 version), it is a more accurate than the POTF2 version in terms of sculpt.  Even the 2002 version, however, didn't allow for the figures to sit as low in the vehicle as they should.  At lest in my opinion.
