Too bad but Tamer should respect that as he is a moc collector, also.
Have you got a big collection, McMetal?

Well now there is at least one other MOC collector besides me. Get ready to hear taunting on opening your goodies! I have resisted so far!

I'll bet that you have opened em all in secret and just haven't told us, shawn.

When you are out shopping for sw, McMetal, how minty do the packages have to be? do you ever find something that you really want but don't pick it up because of a dinged box?

Wow, I always assumed all the non-kid collectors were adherent to the MOC philosophy. It probably would be fun to pull some of these bad boys out and take a look, but it hasn't begun to gnaw at me yet. I guess it helps that I don't really have the space to display them all right now anyway and it's much easier to store them boxed.

Plus it helps conceal exactly how much money I am actually spending on this stuff. The wife would NOT be pleased.  ::)

I wouldn't say my collection is vast, but it is pretty thorough, as far as the Clone Wars line goes. I start with the original Cartoon Network Animated series of figures (loved that show so much more then the new one) and have continued up through the current CGI version, along with all the associated vehicles, battlepacks, exclusives, etc.

The only things I am missing (that have already been released) are the Wal-Mart exclusive Republic Gunship and the Costco exclusive AT-TE that came packaged with extra figures. The CostCo exclusive I am still on the fence about though, since by all accounts it is a straight up re-pack. (and a pricey one at that)

I resisted re-purchasing all the vehicles just re-released in the Red CW motif, as well as the re-packed figures. The blue boxed versions I have are just fine. (Dioramas are nice but not worth all the extra $$$)

I'm aware there is some 2005 circa Clone Wars stuff but I have never felt like this was really part of the animated line. I know the ships have been largely recycled, but the figures strike me as ugly. I would like a Geonosis fighter or Aayla Secura's starfighter to get re-released as part of the current line though.

I wouldn't say I'm too choosy about minty boxes, although when there's a choice I always try to pick the best specimen. Wal-mart once had a vehicle I needed (think it was Anakin's modified starfighter) that I couldn't find anywhere else, but the box was noticeably damaged, contents probably ok, but it was still too much of a turn-off. I ended up picking one up off eBay instead.

I would say for me, the excitement is in the hunt and the procurement phase. It's a good way to channel my obsessive energy.

I also have lots of MOCstuff, and the deciding factor is an equation of cost versus condition.
If both are good then it remains MOC, if not then i look at cost and condition and availability and decide for openers.
Ussually if it was high cost and excellent condition it then remains MOC and ussually in my collection, until I find one in better condition at a more reasonable price which doesnt happen often.
And I keep lower production release numbers as MOC items when at all possible.
I have never sold items and rarely traded items, but cant say as I wouldnt.
Always be receptive to fair trade!

Screw that - it's a TOY!  Toy = PLAY WITH IT!!  Which in my case means customize them into really cool figs and start shooting photonovels with them.

But I have almost as many loose figs as I have MOC.....
which means one day I will have that many more toys to play with later....

That's why I buy loose stuff on ebay - because I may not have TIME to open it!!!  (points to the boxes of figs still on cards)

A lot of them I wont open, because i bought openers or loose figs in lieu there of, and then there are those that are destined to one day breathe.....
We just need to wait for the right day. And the special release figs in jewel cases and other big bubbles(like senate security,Fox and Shadow Troopers and Shadow Scout Speeder sets) are harder for  me to open if I have it in hand and can still get a bargain on ones that are open or rime candidates to be opened.
And some of them are just not worth taking the time to open(what could any one do with 24 different Ani figs besides have a true Star Wars funeral?).
There are too many repacks of past releases that have no changes (other than paint updates), right down to the dates stamped on them of the original sculpt release dates, and you can only use so much for other projects....

Ha ha..I admire your enthusiasm. I just think after you get past a certain age, actually playing with the stuff seems a little creepy. (I'm 38)

In the box, it can still be rationalized as an "investment". (or high value collectible as I like to say)

Now once my kids get to the age where they might possibly be interested in this stuff, that could change everything. I could definitely see ripping into some stuff and having some epic mock battles with the wee ones.

Has anyone seen the gunship weapon pod packs yet??? It's "August" and well I'm becoming about as  impatient and excited as a gungan in front of a droid army..

Why go through life base fig, when you can customize?

I am soon to turn 37, and that is exactly what  my 4 year old son and I do with most of the opened stuff.

Do you mean the Geonosis Assault Battlepack?

I picked this up last Friday at TRU...they only had 1, and they had no re-stocks this morning when I checked. I have also heard reports of these showing up at some Targets around the country, but not around here.
