Troopers in the Snow!
« on: December 22, 2010, 06:58:56 PM »
I've been coming to this site for easily over 6 months, I mainly just browse, look at pictures. I'm more of a casual collector, so I don't have too much to post, and I don't do customs, but I finally have something to contribute :P

I wanted to try out the camera on my new phone and came up with this!

The snow does a great job keeping the figures up!

The "commander" is just some G.I. Joe I've had for a while, he does a good job looking like some sort of AT-AT commander. or imperial engineer.

Figures are

2 Legacy Storm Troopers
1 Saga Legends Sand trooper (pauldron was removed, so he looks like a storm trooper)
1 Legacy Scout
1 Saga Legends Evo Trooper
5 Legacy Collection troopers from The Joker Squad pack.

I realize it might look better with snow troopers, but I only have one, and I couldn't find one, and the sun was setting! :P

Let me know what you think :)

Thank you! Yeah, I had been putting off shooting it all day, I got it right at a good time, as the sun was setting. My phone has a great camera, some shots i used flash, some  I didn't :P

Wow, that phone takes good pics. Clonehead has already shown me some great video with his phone too.

There is nothing like a good snow Walker scene in my opinion!

Yeah, I pretty much skip the flash altogether on my shooting now.  If you need to use the flash, you are better off using a "bounce-card" to redirect the flash so it doesn't wash out your subject.

Yeah, its fun to set em up, The AT-AT is the only imperial vehicle I own. I'm hoping to get the BAT-AT if I can get it cheap, or an AT-ST, I'd also love to get my hands on a shuttle

I love taking outdoor shots! I just wish I was man enough to get outside and brave the cold =)  Like someone mentioned earlier, nothing beats a good walker on the snow shot.  Great shot and kudos for braving the cold.

Oh it wasn't that bad! Throw on a jacket and give it a shot! (No pun intended)

I have alot of 90s SW vehicles, back when I was younger, the only bad part is I was so young that I didn't take great care of them so virtually all of my old vehicles/figures are missing parts, like the AT-AT. I even have a snowspeeder thats missing the cannons and cockpit, but I wouldn't mind trying that one next

So the squadron of troopers trudged on through the night till morning, without the luxury of their walker doing all the work

more to come!
