Actually right now I'm working on another Astromech ;D I'm a little upset cause after I sprayed her I left her outside to dry, but it was a pollen fest and it looks a little bumpy even after I sanded and repainted!

LOL!  It's a "Swamp Astromech" with moss and mold growing on it!

Lol, like Lucasclones GI Joe Marine Scout Snipers! Damn wish I would've thought of that before :) Her specialty and title will be Night Scout Recognisance Droid, but she also does all the other Astromech stuff ;) She's designed for Smugglers and under cover missions!

Great job on your first droid custom! :) Have you thought about a clone trooper you would like to create?

Jenn,

on that last astromech did you use a primer base-coat on it?  the paint looks like it's lumping on you again and I sometimes see that happening when I use a canned spray-on primer coat and I get it too thick.  this happened to me several times while base-coating vehicles for paint.   I was just wondering if that might be causing it.  It could still be your paint's not thinned enough or stirred... sometimes I have this happen when I don't mix or stir my paint well.  Other than the bumps in the paint the little guy looks good.  I like the color scheme so far.

Yeah I sprayed him with primer and then glossy black, but when he was drying...since it's been blooming and windy in Florida some pollen stuck in the paint :P I even tried sanding, so instead of junking the poor guy I decided to make him honorable :) After all he is a special-ops astro and he spends most of his time in the field, some might say it's camo, lol ;D You'll learn his story soon enough eager Jedi!

Ah so this is the pollen magnet you were telling me about? I see the bumpy pattern it left behind but other than that your paint aps look great! The dome and all the details are very well done. Awesome that you are cranking out a few astromechs. I too had mixed results when spray painting them so I quit and only brush the paint on. The other problem in my area is humidity and it can cause bubbles and clumping as well. So good luck on future projects as these things can bring a challenge.
