Well, I broke down and did it... I customized the 6inch slave Leia. 

BUT... I can't post all the pictures here... cuz well, let's just say she went through some "augmentation" and now she looks a lot better in (and out) of that metal bikini...

Here are the pictures I can show off here:




First off, let's look at the fact that a 20.00 toy should have come with a REAL CHAIN to begin with!  But I fixed that pretty easilly.

The other modifications were to the top itself...  I carefully (should I say surgically?) removed her top using a fresh sharp exacto knife.  Once I had it removed i hollowed it out with my dremel (much in the way you would hollow out a helmet to make a ball jointed helmet into a removable helmet).  I also added some real copper wire and a string for the straps.   I also of course had to re-sculpt her bust.  I think she has a bit more proportionate figure now.  She just looked weird with those huge thighs and hips and such a small chest...





I also took and filed off the serial number on her inner thigh and re-painted that:

But, what do you guys think?  I am giving thought to selling this piece... but am still undecided.  It'd have to be for a really good deal (or a sweet trade deal)...  But I also am pretty happy with how this one turned out and might just keep it too

I think you made the upper torso area look a lot better and I like what you did with the legs, but I am just having a hard time with this offering in general. I think the legs themselves just don't look very realistic. That is not a knock on your customizing at all, but Hasbro's creation. Off to share.

Also great mods to Leia. I totally agree with you on the chain. Luckily, that's an easy fix, but yeah, Hasbro should've included a metal chain themselves to start with. Remember the time they actually did that with some of the 3 3/4" figures...?

Those are times long past I'm afraid.  things like that, that make signature figures WORTH the expense, are just never going to be back.  I just hope that decent soft-goods don't go to the way-side either...  but that again is one complaint I have about this figure too!  Her skirt pieces are freying HORRIBLY.  They could have found a fabric that didn't frey as bad, or at least made a hem on the edges to keep it from doing so!

I know.  I really wanted to sand down and re-work the hips too... but after I removed the skirt and belt and really looked at the joint construction of the hips/thighs I didn't know that I would be able to shave it down and make it still look right...  The hip joints really just need to be moved in more and the crotch thinned, that way the legs are not set so far apart.  However, to do that the hip joints would have to be completely re-done, as the bar that the hips connect to is set at a 90* angle to the torso, similar to how the gi-joe T bar works...  at least that is what I gathered.  I really didn't want to try and take her apart more than I did in fear of completely ruining her (and at 20 bucks a pop I wasn't going to risk that!).  I'd love to see one boil-n-popped down to the constituent pieces though to see better how they were constructed and how it could be improved upon.
