unfortunately the sun wasn't shining today so I didn't get very many good ones outside...
but as promised, here are some better quality photos:

used the stand from the TRU exclusive speeder bike to simulate flying:

extra weapons:

Comparing him to the 6" sandtrooper:

Extras include:  Rifle and sidearm with blast effects (effects from a droideka figure), ROTJ style jetpack with removable flame effects (effects from marvel universe iron man figures), Flame thrower effect (from Mcquarrie concept fett, small hole drilled between wrist and gauntlet for attaching this effect), removable lightsaber hilt, not pictured is a stretchcord sheath and knife for his shin, and of course the removable belt/holster/pouches which remain on the figure in these images.

a little fanservice?:

well, what do you guys think?  anything else need improvement?

Dude, you nailed it. Especially the rifle and the jetpack. The ONLY thing you might consider is dirtying up his clothes, but he looks great as is.

I'm always afraid to go too heavy on the weathering... especially since it's the last step and if you mess it up it can really ruin the entire figure!  I did want to add some dry-brushing to a few areas, and did so with the light colored "sand", but you can't really even see it.

I also realized after I started taking pictures that I didn't really weather the cape enough.  I want to go back and add some paint to it to rough it up more.

Those flame effects are awesome. Good job all around on this one. Back to the front page.

This was a custom done on commission/trade for a 6" boba fett (stay tuned for more on that later)...

The client provided me with the base figure, and the spare figure to chop up for armor parts, as well as the lightsabers and one gaffi stick....  and I provided the work and all other accessories.

The goal?  To re-create this:

http://www.sideshowtoy.com/collectibles/star-wars-ben-kenobi-mythos-sideshow-collectibles-200108/

and... my version (well, the client's version) in 1:18th scale, with bonus features!

bonus features...?  well, pretty much everything on the backpack is removable and can be posed with the super-articulated figure (for once the source figure was super articulated and all I had to do was paint him! woohoo!)

The armor's neck hole fits onto a black peg that is on top of the backpack to secure it in place without having to use strings to tie it down... that helps be able to remove it easily.
The only things not removable?  The bed roll and the two extra light saber hilts.  technically the hilts could be removed if you untied the string holding them on... I used a metal loop to push the string through to let them hang freely instead of glueing them onto something, so technically they could be removed.

extra sweet cool feature?  The armor can be removed from the pack and fitted onto the figure!

still in the works is an "old ben" head sculpt being sent my way to give this figure an alternative head sculpt.  The one thing I forgot to add to the backpack;  A rope with tiny grapling hook... I'll probably go back and fix that before sending it off to the client.

So, what do you guys think?  meet the source material pretty good?

Well that Mando Project look interesting.

Still, let me comment first on your version of the Mythos Obi-Wan. I love how you have made everything so versatile and this is gonna be one happy customer. You are basically making everything so interchangeable you can have like a hundred different incarnations of Obi here. Off to share.

I'm excited about the mando project....  I'll be getting back to it tonight so if you want to see more wip photos check out my fb page!!!#
There is also a. WIP galery of obi wan there as well.

Old Ben looks great, spud! Love the armor and frayed cape alterations.
Like the mando project. I know who it is but won't spoil it.

I don't feel ashamed to say your Mythos Ben looks better than mine! Nice job.

The 6'' Mando looks like Pre Vizla, right?

Nice, I thought yesterday that is who it might be. Helmet work looks good as does his sword. Off to share.

a little WIP pre-view...

Pre viszla is almost finished.  I just need to touch up a few paint details and more importantly construct a screen accurate jet pack from scratch....

I've got to say... customizing the 6" figures is fun... but my lack of fodder bits at this scale is incredibly frustrating!

IF I can get this figure finished this weekend, I'll post a series of high res photos, until I get it finished watch my FB page for any more WIP photos!! (and see others that I won't be posting here).
