A question was asked about how I do washes...While I mix my own washes most of the time I do use citadel from time to time. It all Depends on the look I am trying to get... I may apply paint, wash, then go back over areas in the original color or I may leave it depending on how the wash looks when dry. Or I may go over in a lighter color post wash, or I may drybrush post wash or pre wash. There really is no one rule set on how I do it. To me, that is what makes customizing fun, all the different things you can do to get various looks for any given character to make it your own work of art! Lastly, I would say the only real one sure rule I use is prep, prep, prep, before painting...And that is a whole lot of trial and error too, but is about 90% of a lasting and durable finish.
