Ok folks, little bit of an overdue update here.

I slapped some of my favorite Sno-Tex over the wall on Monday.

I found JUMBO sized online, so I bought two. I used over half a container on this wall!

You can't just paintbrush over this stuff, so I use the disposable foam paint brushes. Very tedious work as you basically have to "punch" this stuff on versus swiping.

First section

Finished (well, the base coat anyway. Lots of weathering to come)

This will all get a darker wash maybe tonight and some heavy weathering. I still need to play some of the game today to get some ideas for pipes/wires/etc to take up some of the blank space on the wall. I also need to paint that sign base. I'll probably do that today as I plan on spray painting it outside and it's beautiful here in RI.

Anyway, hope to have the next update sooner! Then I can start work on the pizza joint.... really looking forward to that one!

That wall looks great so far! Can't wait to see it progress even further. Getting to play video games for research, that doesn't suck  ;)
I'm probably too old to be doing this, but I don't care. They're toys, they're meant to be played with!!

I work in darkness so that I can control the light.

Thanks everyone.

Been taking a bit of a break from the workshop these days. Hoping to get inspired soon!

This continues to be aweosme.  How do you get the "brick" pattern on the walls?

I just buy the brick dollhouse sheets. I need to start making my own though as they get costly.

Thanks for the kind words, sorry for the slow response

great stuff man how many hours to do??

So far?? I dunno man, maybe 15-16 hours total since I actually started it? It's been shaped out in my workshop for well over 3 years...lol. It's depressing sometimes how slow the process is. It's a lot of waiting for stuff to dry, and not rushing(which sucks because I have no patience....lol)  I try and work on a couple sections at a time, but sometimes things NEED to go in order.

anyway,

Small update here, I found Woody lurking around Arkham City again, and took his picture for surveillance.

"Criminally insane....lol"

Top O'  the World!  ( got the doors painted up and temporarily fitted)

Little tutorial here for some more realism on these concrete blocks

Paint your base color

Woodland Scenics Coarse ballast, or just some regular fine sand would do it.

Sprinkle some on the wet paint

Paint your base coat over once the bottom coat dries

Wait till everything dries, then paint your top coats/weathering (more on that later)

Also started to "spackle up" the Pizza joint. This will all be covered, but it's sandable, so I wanted to try and get a smoother surface than the Styrofoam allows. This will be my first "3d" building, as I usually do facades. I need to join the corners and such, so I wanted to even it out as much as possible. This will make my later work easier (I hope)

That's about it for today.
