I've never really been content with the action (or rather non-action) figures Hasbro has made so far. Darth Maul has always been my favorite Sith Apprentice and none of the existing figures have been able to broadcast the raw energy, agility  and aggressiveness which was so obvious in Darth Maul.
Hopefully my custom shows that a bit better. Being based on a GI Joe Snake Eyes figure he is fully articulated and can be posed pretty much into every fighting move Ray Park has shown in the movie.

The figure is a GI Joe ROC Snake Eyes, the softgoods tunic is from a 30TAC Endor Luke, head, cloak and lightsaber are from the Darth Maul speeder rider figure.

The idea for this custom came when I resarched for a piece of Star Wars fan fiction and came across the Sector Rangers, a police force sort of comparable to the Old West era Texas Rangers.
Pictures were not plentiful, details were pretty much limited to what was written in the old West End Games sourcebooks.
Still, I started the project of doing a Sector Ranger figure.
This is a WIP picture of the assembled parts, but maybe I'm going to change some parts and come up with something else.
Let's see...

And this is what I found online:

I second that, I love the fact you've shown us the source image too. This should make an interesting custom.

Interesting take on Maul; the rebel soldier looks sweet in that shortened jacket!

Light side, dark side...meh.  Just give me a lightsaber and a blaster and I'll take care of it!

Outstanding pieces, Volker!

Maul - THAT is the version I keep hoping Hasbro will put out!  Now I know what I can do with the otherwise useless Luke overtunic I have lying about...

Sector Ranger - Off to a great start!  So are you going to build his ship from an OH-6A/Hughes 500, too?  ;D

Endor Rebel - Fabulous work!  That shortened coat is just right.  Given his shirt is different from the "normal" squad, I'm betting he'll look more at home with the off-screen group with the three Dresselians...

Hi!
Thanks for the praise, people.
Doc, do you have a pic of a Ranger ship?
Converting a chopper sounds like an interesting little project...

I did have, once upon a time.  I'll see about digging thru my old RPG books and relocating it for you.

That would be cool.
If you have a scanner at home and if it's not too much of a hassle: please scan me further info on the Sector Rangers.
I'm still planning to feature them in my next bit of fan fiction.
