Honestly, Clint, I have no idea what brand of paint I used. I painted this nearly a decade ago, and 'tinted' the windshield today.
Originally, I stopped by a buddy's paint shop, he set everything up for me, and I painted it with automobile paint.
The colors change from purple to green to blue to a sorta burnt orange.

Thanks so much, Tamer.
Here's another pic of the speeder, taken prior to the window tinting.

Thanks for looking.

Yeah, I couldn't get the lighting to my liking in my Star Wars room, even using 5 lights, and taking a ton of pix.
It's amazing how much better things look outside, with natural sunlight.

very cool.  You need to get that hammer head some bling to ride around in that with!  I've always loved that color change paint.  The tinted windshield is a nice touch.

The only thing I don't like about it is the peg hole in the fin at the back still being so noticable.  This was the ep.1 flash speeder right?

awesome paint job.  How did you tint the windshield?

Thanks. Yeah, that Ithorian sure could use some bling bling.
I also never cared for the empty peg hole on the fin, but could never figure out what to do with it.
You're right, regarding the Ep. 1 speeder. Regarding the tinting process, I can't reveal all of my secrets.
Just kidding. I simply spray painted the inside part of the windshield with black spray paint.
Thanks for your interest and kind words.

So this is not my official entry, but is one of the 2 speeders I was creating for the contest with the intention of entering the best of the two.
I've made my choice on which one I think is the best, and so I've decided to post this one =) my runner up.  =)
I can't wait to reveal my real entry!!!! bwahahahaha (evil laugh)
Many may remember this speeder from page 5 when I purchased it off eBay about 2 weeks ago.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I call this the 900 GT Series Elite Speeder.

I wanted to create the "Evo" of the Speeder world, kind of a race rocket for some snob punk to own.

There are still some small details I want to do, but mostly this is finished. I was thinking a "punk rich kid" would be the owner, though I'll have to think about that fig for a while.

Here are some more images of it: http://picasaweb.google.com/mypronmedia/EvoSpeeder#

Enjoy, and please all you other yarder's out there keep up the great work and entries!! I can't wait until September 13th!!

Why go through life base fig, when you can customize?

I LIKE IT!  what did you use for the engine?

man...  we need to do more of these contests.

btw, is the amount of people comming out for this challenge affected by the prize winnings or if the contest had no winnings and was just for the title would everyone still be doing it?  I know I would still be doing this even if there was no prize, I like a good challenge

Well this the first
Contest where we asked for the contestants to build something and the response has been great. This is also the biggest contest prize that we ever offered.
Who knows. I am having a ball with it though.

Like your speeder, Sten.
At first I thought that this was your entry.

I painted the engine area black and then went over it with a silver/steel dry brush and some bronze/gold highlighting. I used styrine to cover up some of the larger holes and some apoxy sculpt to smooth out some of the lines and smaller holes. Overall it was a blast to paint but still needs some touch up. I was originally going to use flake/speckle car paint, but ended up going with this high gloss cherry red I found.

I think the contest is a great motivator at picking theme/subject matter, which I always have trouble with. =)  ;D

Great unofficial entry, StenHunter. If this is your runner up, then I'm sure your real entry will be amazing.

I, personally, didn't  join the contest for anything but to have fun. If by some fluke or miracle I won, I would donate my winnings back to the site.
I may not be able to join all of the contests, but I would like to.
This is a great site with many cool members, and I' m just content with being able to contribute.

Now that was unexpected but very generous, R1bb1t. We are glad that you like it here. We aim to please the Star Wars collecting and Custom communities.

I like the sentiment we are seeing here.

That being said, I am really liking the exposed engine on Sten's speeder. I just looks tough.

I am just thinking how awesome it would be to get these all together for a group shot with Spud's biker garage or outside a Cantina!
