GI-Joe Retaliation wave 3 Alley Viper Review
« on: February 15, 2013, 04:27:45 AM »
Yes, this one is a repaint of the POC Alley Viper but seems to be fairly popular as an army builder, I would assume, so today, he gets his review.

Paint apps, eh, a bit bright for my taste especially with some of the cool looking repaints of this one that we have seen. I would have preferred to see a multiple grey hue camo but that's just me.

Articulation, fully super arty without the double jointed wrists or rocker ankles.

Accessories:
bright red and grey cobra symbol emblazoned sheild
1 sub machine gun
1 automatic rifle
1 night stick
1 smaller knife with scabbard molded onto his forearm
1 larger knife/machete
his crazy cobra themed riot helmet with flip visor/sheild
his vest is different than the poc version and is also used with the Flint figure
and, the wonky looking zipline affair with backpack launcher

I could have done without the zipline gimmick in exchange for about 4 more weapons or accessories which would have cost less, I would think. I'm missing the gas mask from the POC release.

As I had mentioned, this guy is an army builder and I think they will move a lot of them. It's either that or the buyers are excited to get a cobra figure that isnt a ninja.  Articulation is good, paint apps, eh............

Looks pretty good to me. I compared you to a certain insect on the front page.

I have been very on the fence on this one.  I love Alley Vipers but I have so dang many repaints and the colors are bright (but they were with the original and somehow I still love that figure).  He's probably on the bottom of my acquire list so if I miss him I won't get upset necessarily.

Great review

Updates Mon-Fri every week, also reviews and much much more.

Looks like the high point is the vest.  The base body has plenty of potential for customs, but for the price, I'll keep buying the Dollar General Cobra Trooper, thanks.  Lack of cool accessories (gas mask) and weapon selection kills this one for me.  Fortunately, I'm not their target audience.
