Clonehead is working overtime on his Track Diorama...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, January 31 2020
"Here are shots of this mornings work. Got the rest of that one parameter row of tall lights wired up. 6 lights, separate bank, I threw in a 4w resistor for safety’s sake.
Oh, I replaced those red flashers I fried yesterday, with a resister/flasher circuit this time. Took a while to feed those wires through the little spire posts I have em mounted on. I’ll remember not to do that again, hopefully.
I also replaced one broken streetlight on the first 60degree curve. “The rear end of the larger cars will drift over enough to clip it. We are talking 6 inches away! It’s hilarious When you take one out. Moved the coffee and shell sign over a space each. It was also in danger of getting clipped. Not sure if it’s safe now
Going up and around the high banked curve next. Got 6 little and perhaps a big or two with the next bank. It’s like revamping to a longer better version of what we had so far.
I need to get that monster of a pit lane fence re worked as it’s going to pack a serious punch. The longer remaining infield, I want to ground cover first and then run lights through like before. I’m anxious to get started on that as well.
Much to do."
See what I mean! He is on it like overtime. I really enjoyed seeing his light up Ole Glory in his latest updates too. This just looks like the real thing to me. Good stuff Clint!

RCW Creations shares a new diorama update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, January 30 2020
"I'm having a brain blip about what to do next for the Loft diorama, so I thought I'd crack on with the second piece. This piece is being based on a medieval castle.
Taking one of the precut bases, I've added the magnetic tape. I have then cut two domed doorways into the top layer of foam of the back and right walls. The right wall is 10 cm higher because it will have a couple of steps."
He has quite a few updates on this projects to peruse as well!

Boards cut for 5 dioramas, ready for work to be started.

"I have managed to turn out one completed piece since last posting. The usual goodies are all here along with a new addition: magnets! Having seen customizers employ them in the past, a golden opportunity for experimentation presented itself when the single plastic jetpack stock peg failed to hold. I picked up some tiny tiny 1.5x1mm magnets from this guy (fast & cheap) that worked great! Cue the electric guitars.

"Hi All,
I have redone the box interior and thanks to Alex J T. Nazario over at the FB page one:12 CDD who suggested adding bags storage for the accessories which I liked but I decided I would go with storage crates that can be used to store the accessories but also double as display pieces for the diorama.
I still have weather the crates and paint and weather the diorama then I'll finish off the figure and accessories."
Can you imagine, opening something like up with all the goodies. Thanks to Ron now I have the theme song for Raiders of the Lost Ark going through my head. I guess there are worse ways to start the week!
Ron Hembling starts a new Indian Jones Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, January 26 2020
"Hi All,
Started a Indiana Jones 1:12 scale project and this is how I would package and show a 1:12 Indy figure to Disney if Mezco, Hasbro, Damtoys or Coomodel won the contract to make him.
The box is made from a Coomodel 1:12 Imperial knight figure I made my Medieval Batman figure from and I added balsa wood to make a crate and stained the wood and added the piture on the back.
The writing on the front was done by printing out the wording and then cutting out the letters using a sharp model knife and then I placed the stencil on the balsa wood and added the writing by dapping matt black paint into the cut out lettering. The figure, accessories and base are still a WIP and will hopefully have them completed over the weekend."
This just looks tough. What a great concept!

"I wanted to make a display diorama for this scene. The duel between Obi-Wan and Grievous is one of my favorites and the surprise attack of the 7th Sky Corps is just cool.
So I grabbed a piece of styrofoam (20x30 cm) and started working on it. I know my display is not screen accurate, but I didn't add the white stripe because I'm not quite happy with the surface. Sure the CIS wouldn't use the best steel, but the surface of the styrofoam still is too uneven/porous to me.
So if you want to build this, here are the instructions for a better version:"

Ron Hembling shares Pirate Batman Diorama...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, January 19 2020
"Hi All,
Pirate Batman - Caribbean 1668. 1:12 scale
Recipe.
Pirate Batman - is a Mezco Captain Kirk body and hands and I also used a Mezco Ascending Knight Batman head and the beard was done using fake fur and painting in black. The paints are the Captain Kirk ones which were dyed grey and the top is a Hasbro 6" Black Series Princess Leia gown which I cut off the hood and lower section and then dyed it grey.
The boots I used pleather to give them I pirate look them and the leather armour and gauntlets were made using leather/pleather and the studs are pieces of plastic rod cut thin and glued into place.
The chest emblem I got the idea from Cosplay Chris and the cape is just a piece of old black material I had in my parts box and I used a pair of scissors to make the ends tattered. The sword is from an old Indiana Jones figure and the flintlock pistol was made from a T2 Arnie figure shot gun, balsa wood and plastic card.
Base - is high density foam and the deck, mast and rope latter were made using cardboard, balsa wood and craft string."
Wow, how cool is that!

With work on Cobra Commander's throne coming to an end soon, it's time to start building my next commission piece. I've been asked to build another Mortal Kombat The Pitt but unlike my previous one which was scaled for 3.75" action figures, this one will be for the 6" range.

Ron Hembling shares a new Batman Diorama...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, January 13 2020
"Hi All,
Medieval Batman, England 1468, 1:12 scale.
NOTE - I have added a picture at the end of the figure before I painted it.
Recipe.
Figure - is from coomodels and is from their Palm Empire series and the weapons and feet are real metal and the armour is a medium plastic. I added ears and bat symbol by using plastic card and then I lightly sanded the armour and then sprayed it with Rust-O-luem Matt Black.
Once the Matt Black was dry I then dry brushed the armour using Vallejo's Gun Metal. The cape was made using a piece of cloth and it was attached using super glue and 1/6 buttons and I also repainted the head and leather belt.
Base - is high density foam and I used a pencil to make the stone floor and then I used my fingers ad ripped away the edges under the stone floor. The columns were made using a cardboard tube then I glued corrugated cardboard around the tube and left it to dry.
Once the cardboard has dried I then placed newspaper in the tube and then sealed the ends using watered down spakfilla. I then glued one piece of the column to a piece of balsa wood and then covered the columns lightly with some watered down spakfilla. The soil is a mix of sand, spakfilla and brown paint and the grass tufts, grass foliage and vines are from MiniNatur.
Ron"

Shoretrooper Scarif 28mm
Recipe.
Figure's - are from Fantasy Flight Games and have been painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints.
Base - is high density foam and the tarmac was done by using a sharp pencil and scribing into the foam. The control panel is from Fantasy Flight Games and is from their Priority Supplies Battlefield expansion set and the crates are made using plastic card.
The sand is a mix of fine sand and spakfilla with Vallejo's Iraqui Sand mixed in and the palm tree's I got of ebay and repainted the using Vallejo paints. the small ground foliage I picked up from my local gaming store and the large bushes are from Woodland Scenics, Olive Green foliage set."

"Hey Star Wars Collectors! Welcome to my Most Wanted Mandalorian Figures video! Be sure to let me know which character you want Hasbro to make.
There are so many amazing characters in the Disney+ TV show The Mandalorian, and hopefully many of them will be made in to figures either for the Vintage Collection or The Black Series. In this video I go through the characters that I most want Hasbro to make first."
I agree, there are a ton of great figures I would love to see in vintage packaging for this.

"Three hours and twelve minutes.
According to anonymous sources inside multiple organizations like Lucasfilm, Disney and Bad Robot and confirmed through additional reporting like Deadline’s interview with The Rise of Skywalker editor, Maryann Brandon; J.J. Abrams and TROS team struggled with wanting to release the cut that more closely matched the Director’s vision, but were disallowed from doing so.
That cut? The J.J. Abrams Director’s Cut, clocking in at no less than one hundred and ninety-two minutes."
Wow, count me in for wanting to see that!
Darth More checks in about the Australian Fires...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, January 7 2020
"This is a Topic that lies on my stomach for weeks by now and feels like a freight rain crossing my guts.
I've exchanged a few messages with hemble the last couple days because I wonder why the Australian government don't send a request for internaational help.
News here in Europe have been reporting on the devastating bushfires in Australia since they broke out in September last year. I've come accross a few videos of Australians the last days and they all send out a call for help. By now it seems like an entire continent with a unique flora and fauna is on fire and it feels like Vader is choking my throat as I'm writing this.
Approximately 500 Million animals (wild & domestic) have died in the fires already and also people lost their lifes throughout the months many of which were firefighters and volunteers.
Canada and the United States of America have sent firefighters for support already. France offered their help this week and I hope more European Governments will follow. I expect the German Government to send support. They dump so much money on questionable projects every day. I think supporting Australia is obligatory because changing conditions against life on this planet affects all of us.
If you can make a donation of any kind, it will help.
Here's a list of instutions that Tony listed in the description of his video:
NSW Rural Fire Service: https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/volunteer/...
Victorian Fire Service: https://www.communityenterprisefounda...
Southeast Gippsland Fire Service: https://www.gerf.org.au/

Here are some pilots I have worked on over the years. Most are super articulated and consist of minor head and hand work. In one case I also did some leg work. There are a handful I picked up from others over time.
I'm working on a few more, but this was the first chance in a long time I was able to set them up in a display. Hope you enjoy."
Wow, and folks there are way more to peruse than just the ones in the pic! I know I sure enjoyed seeing them.

Chuckles shares his custom year in review...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, January 5 2020
"I'm about to slow WAY down on the action figures. I've been imagining this home-office (nerd hobby room) for a long time, but whenever I have time to work on it I spend that time making another figure so I've decided 2020 is the year of the layout! I have some boring office stuff to work out (desk instead of foldout table, wall shelves, and upgrade lighting), and I really need to build an airbrush spray booth this year, but I'm also going to get serious about the shelf diorama. I've got to build a bar & distillery, prop-doors, internal walls, a TON of greeble props, probably more LED lighting, buckets of painting, and more. I'll start a new thread over in the Diorama section to post updates about my progress.
Meanwhile, here's a big group shot I took last night! Pretty sure there are 78 custom figures in this pic. (I'm going to have to re-shoot eventually; I forgot the Ewok customs.)"
Wow, and then there is this other custom he posted yesterday I ran out of room to post on. He is on fire!

Chuckles shares even more great customs...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, January 4 2020
"I'm having a fun week with lots of time for customs!
Here's a quick background character alien I threw together. Hardest part was replacing the neck-ball-joint to mount this head. He's wearing Marauder WWII German uniform pants that look a little long for his body but he's an alien so it works for me.
Yet another new guy! Mandalore head (2007) evolutions, I don't remember where the chest is from, the arms and belt are skiff Lando, the hands and legs are Marauders, the feet are Boba Fett, the blaster is from some Star Wars figure, and the knife is Marauders again.
I think he's probably an assassin."
Nice and there is even a great new Barge Crew in there to peruse too. What a head on that dude!
Darth More shares a great gift...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, January 4 2020
"Talking about foliage: you can find great stuff in the woods of which some is perfectly suitable for your dioramas.
After Christmas I visited my buddy Andreas. And he built a small diorama out of the stuff he found while being in the forest with his dog. He knows that I was a big fan of dinosaurs when I was a Boy. I mean who wasn't? So he gave this diorama to me. And this is just one of three!"
Really great seeing natural stuff in dioramas. I mean it doesn't get any more real than using stuff found in nature!
Ron Hembling finishes his Bunyip Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, January 4 2020
"Hi All,
Bunyip completed - 1:35 scale
Maschinen Krieger vehicle and this is a Medium Recon Vehicle used by the Mercenary Forces which they call the Bunyip.
Bunyip/Figures - I used the turrets and parts from two Hasegawa Maschinen Krieger 1/35 Nutcracker vehicle kits and also parts from a Tamiya Merkava and Sherman tank and also plastic card and rod and the crew are from MasterBox and is kit number 3598. The Bunyip and figures were painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints and Pastel chalks.
Base - is high density foam cut to shape. The ground work is a mix of spakfilla/sand and applied and while still wet kitty litter was scattered over the base. Once dry I painted the kitty litter with Vallejo Paints and then gave the base a few washes of Vallejo Iraqui and then a gave the rock a wash of Games Workshop AGRAX Earthshade to darken them.
The dead branches are dried roots I picked from the garden and the grass tufts are from MiniNatur which I lightly dry brushed with Vallejo Beige Brown to give them a partial dry look to them."
Man that turned out sweet!
Ron Hembling completes Toy Story Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, January 4 2020
"Hi All,
Toy Story display.
Figures - Buzz and Woody and from Bandai and are very articulated and come with three different facial expressions which their eyes can be moved and they come with extra hands. Woody's hat can be removed and Buzz's wings pop out by pressing the large red button.
I Repainted the hair on Woody and the eye brows on them both and I painted the extra details on Woody's hat/vest/shirt/scarf. The eyes are decals but will come off after time so I used a little superglue and glued then eye decals into place.
The barrel/soldiers/lego I got by raiding the son's toy boxes he doesn't use and the blocks I printed off the net and glued onto cardboard and cut out and glued together.
The base is high density foam and the skirting board is a think piece of foam board and the wallpaper/floor/power point I printed off the net and the power cord is an old cord I had in my parts box."
Looks great to me!

This is a new favorite! The head was made & painted by a local friend, the upper body, arms, and skirt are all Marauder's WWII, the hat is Marauder's WWII, the goggles are old BBI, the hands are Marauders, the belt is Darth Vader (don't remember which), and the legs are Star Wars (but again I don't remember which).
Started work on half a dozen new custom projects today. Most of them incorporate parts from Marauder's WWII line.
Here's a new fan-fic henchman that uses the red-version German officer legs. I really like how this guy came out.
Helmet inspired by a recent Rykrof Enloe skiff guard."
