"Hi All,
Update on the Gustav Repair dio.
I added rocks using kitty litter except for the large rock which my son got for me from school LOL. The ground work is a mix of fine sand and spakfilla and once applied and dried I painted and weathered it and the rocks using Vallejo Paints. The tent/shelter frame work was made using thin plastic rod as were the pegs and the cover is tissue and the rope is black cotton and once dry will be painted and weathered.
I have finished painting the Gustav and I added a little weathering and just need to add decals and then complete the weathering. The equipment that is on the base so far has been painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints.

"I like the Aphra figure, but wished the hat was removable. I used my second Aphra's vest and gunbelt for my Twi'lek custom so I ripped off the hat/hair piece, gave her new hair, and a new gunbelt for an easy-to-make second look.
I went back and reworked the Ewok War Party. Some fresh accessories, added details, and some paint highlights."
And if that isn't enough he added more henchman and even got into a new Yaddle. He really takes parts placing to a whole new level. It makes me wonder if he works for parts plus or another similar outfit.

"I declared the day before Thanksgiving to be Ewok Wednesdayay. In the spirit of the holiday, I will reveal the Ewok Village. I'm not 100% finished. I hit a snag with the wiring. Evidently I had too many bulbs, and the 9v battery couldn't light them all. So for the left side hut I'm just going to use a cheap electronic tea light. Also I need to glue down all the different floor sections to the base, now that all of the Fab is done. But this is what I have."

SubjectHere's my brand-newest custom henchman!
I used the the head and hands from Umpass Stay, the Indiana Jones 'Chief Temple Guard' figure's upper body and arms, and his belt/bandolier piece with added pouches from Marauders, the skirt from Wooof, and I don't remember where the legs came from.
I like to think of these three as a crew of pirates. Maybe they work with, or deal with Jabba's crew, but they're not really palace henchmen."
He is really knocking out some great combinations.

"Hi All,
WIP - 1:35 scale Maschinen Krieger, Gustav Repair.
This diorama will depict a Gustav being repaired after a battle and the mechanics have started straight away while the pilot talks to the head mechanic. I have built all the figure's/equipment etc I just need to fill in a gaps and start painting.
Figure's are from Miniart and the pilot is from set #37005 USMC Tank crew and the mechanics are from set #35285 German tank crew at work (Special Edition). The Gustav is from Hasegawa and it comes with two figures and is set #64102.
The special edition tank crew set comes with plastic and photo etched tools and parts and the other tools and equipment are from Italeri is set #419 Field tool shop."
He even includes a link for that Gustav is you are interested. Its gonna be a great dio!

When I saw the VC113 Republic Trooper right at the top yesterday, I couldn't believe it. A couple years ago he offered it for $24.99. It was the last unit yesterday, but he listed 9 more this morning and they don't seem to sell right away this time around. Got one of those for 2,23€ last Saturday so I'm a happy camper with two of those now.
Update: 5 units of VC113 sold within 2 hours...200 bucks for tunghori. Easy money. Thanks!

"This one was made a couple months ago. I like to think of him as more pirate than henchman.
Pretty sure the head is Vedain or Vizam. Pretty sure the chest is the 2011 Endor Rebel Commando. I don't remember where the arms came from, but I didn't cut them; they had longer gloves that I popped off. His current gloves came from a limited-articulation Boba Fett; I cut them off the Fett arms, drilled holes into them, and mounted them on the pegs that held the previous gloves on these arms."
That is just the start of the recipe and description folks. Wow, Chuckles really puts the pieces together. I would love to see him coming up with new combinations for Hasbro!

"On top of these two I have also finished off my Plasma Thermal Regulators and Thermic Plasma Conduits. These I started a couple of months ago. After base coating them in Abbadon Black I then painted them with Leadbelcher. Both coats were done using GW's airbrush paints, it meant I could get an even coat. I've used Nuln Oil for shading, Retributor Armour for the pipes, Agrax Earthshade to shade that. Thousand Sons Blue for the plasma and then edged with Temple Guard Blue."

It's a sad fact that our collectibles will never look as white as they were brand new once they started yellowing. But this is a solution to get at least a little less yellow...or a little more white back - depending on your point of view:"

"Hi All,
T-800, Terminator Killer.
Recipe.
T-800 - I used two Terminator figures from NECA to make this figure from his in the metal works factory and once I got him in the pose I like I glued the joints and puttied them up and also added the flesh damage using putty and repainted him and weathered him using Vallejo Paints.
Base - the lower base is a plastic stand from Mezco and the diorama section is made using high density foam as are the cement sections. The metal rods are pieces of twisted wire and then inserted and glued into place. The dirt is a mix of sand and spakfilla and once the whole diorama was done it was painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints and Pastel chalks.

Another zombie robot. The body and legs or from a Ready 2 Robot figure, the arms are Battle Droid, the head is an original sculpt in Super Sculpy and the dome is an Idea-ology glass vial from Hobby Lobby.
Anto Mislah - Quarren Bounty Hunter
The head and hands are from a Kenner ROTJ Squid Head figure, torso and arms are Vintage Kithaba (Skiffguard), and the legs are Black Series Vizam. The Squid Head had been chewed on by a dog, so I like to pretend old Anto survived an encounter with a Rathtar."

"I made two more batches of weapons and with some left over resin, I made another Cobra symbol.
With the extra weapons I am able to fill the walls. My client has requested that I leave space on one of the walls so he is able to hand some removable weapons.
Now I've completed the casting I can start painting."

I managed to get another couple (cheap!) Vintage Imperial Guards yesterday. One is probably going to be striped for parts, but the other joins the squad to even the number at four."

"Retro Styled Spaceport Visitors
Spaceports across the galaxy play host to billions of sentients of all shapes and sizes every day. Multitudes of travelers including humans, near human species, reptilians, aquatic beings, insectoids and those with body plans that are almost inconceivable arrive and depart constantly. You never know what you will see on any given day.
Note: This was an exeriment in using some of my wife's holographic nail polish to paint the figures' robes.
I wanted them to look like something out of old low budget sci-fi movies and television shows which often used "sparkly" material such as lame` for futuristic or alien costumes."
I would definitely call that one successful experiment!

"My solution I call: D'ultimate
FIRST just rinse off the figure. Then use dish soap which has a degreaser and just smother the item/figure/etc. Let it sit then use slightly warmish water and tooth brush to scrub it all down. This will get the grime off."

First up is Jabba's pal Geezum. It turned out ok, but honestly I'm not sure I love this Agen Kolar body. I may one day revisit this figure.
This guy is inspired by the Aqualish that can be seen in Jabba's Palace, but is probably not all that screen-accurate since there aren't good pictures of that guy."

"Here's a little update, I just want to show you guys how I'm building these huts. Once I built the frame I used a mixture of water and white glue, I dipped pieces tissue paper into the mixture, then laid them over the frame. I let it dry for a few hours, then painted them.
I'm working on the roof right now. I got my bundle of straw and cut them into short pieces, then starting at the bottom glue them around. Then the second layer I do the same, but overlapping the bottom row. I'll just keep going around and up the roof until it's done. A bit time consuming but I think it'll pay off."
It is really looking nice to me!

I so want to give my opinion, but I want to hear others' thoughts before I do. I won't give any of the story away, but you can read my first thoughts on this when you click on through. All I will say is I think they have a sure fire hit on their hands!

"Hi All,
Batman - Bat Signal - Completed
Diorama/Display - The roof top is high density foam and I used a sharp pencil to make the brick work and roof top section. I then used a piece of sandstone and tapped over the brick work and roof to give it more realistic look. The Ladder is made using plastic rod and plastic card.
The signal is made from PVC plumbers pipe connections and plastic card and the light is a cheap book light I picked up of ebay. The glass is a piece of clear plastic and the bat logo was done by picking a logo I liked and then I traced it on the soft model plastic and cut it out.
The whole diorama/display was painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints and Pastel chalks.

"Big update tonight.
These next few don't really count as customs; its more just me playing with my toys, but I wanted more from troopers so here are some easy headswaps.
Oldest first. I put a POTF2 Death Star Trooper (the one with the really crappy leg pose) on an Imperial Officer body. (Imp officer also in the photo for reference.)
And there is a lot more headswaps than that. He also did some great work on some astromechs (click the image below for more)!

"I've built a cover to hide the LEDs, cables and battery pack. I've placed a Cobra emblem over the centre, when painted will become a permanent fixture."

I added some extras onto the light and dio before I primed it. I added a partial ladder by using plastic rod and plastic card, I also made a on/off power box using plastic card and added two power boxes at the top and bottom of the signal using Bandai Sandtrooper back pack parts and plastic card.

"Here's a quick add-diversity-to-the-ranks Mandalorian repaint. I swapped out the belt, and I added the cape from the stupid 2003 Silver Boba Fett. And the new symbol on the chest is a slide-off decal from Bad Mother Customs
And, sticking with Madalorians (I'm SO EXCITED about tomorrow's premire), here's another I painted up. Mostly it's weathering, and I repainted the wrist armor and backpack to match (pretty sure that's not his original backpack).

"With the chaos of the past couple of weeks of being told you are being made redundant and finding a new job I have finally done my final pictures of the Open Grave.
Made the window today using perspex, bolsa wood for the frame. Once all sanded the window has been glued into pace and ready to be painted.

"Okay, so I started on the huts. Currently I'm working on the secondary hut. I built the frame up using polystyrene rods and hot glue. I started using styrene cement, but it works too slowly, and doesn't hold the pressures of the bent rods as well as I'd like, because I'm super impatient. Anyway, it's the frame, it's not perfect, but it'll do. Also here's a sneak peak WIP custom Ewok I have in the works. He's gonna be the Rambo of Ewoks."

"Hi All,
While I've been waiting for materials to arrive I started on a 1:12 Bat signal and Roof top dio the other day and thought I would show some WIP pics.
The signal so far is made from PVC plumbers pipe connections, plastic card, military model parts and the light is a cheap book light I picked up of ebay. The glass is a piece of clear plastic and the bat logo was done by picking a logo I liked and then I traced it on the soft model plastic and cut it out.
The roof top is high density foam and I used a sharp pencil to make the brick work and then used a piece of sandstone and tapped over the brick work and roof to give it a more realistic look.

"Luke head sculpt upgrade & swap...
Bought a couple of head sculpts during my travels, a TESB 2.0 and a ROTJ Luke (both with movable eyes) for a minor upgrade on two of my 1/6 figures, one being the Bespin version of Luke and the other, well, I haven't decided on yet but the head sculpt that I will be replacing on Bespin Luke I will be swapping over to X-wing flight suit Luke."
He did an awesome job taking images and describing what he did to upgrade his 1/6 scale figures. Awesome stuff.

"I made this a year or two ago using Skiff Lando pants, Rebel Commando arms, Nikto Skiff Guard chest and waist, and Weequay hands, and Weequay head with dreadlocks removed and an Indiana Jones Indian hair thing added. I left him pretty clean (instead of weathered), and like to think of him as the dapper skiff guard."

Many Star Wars fan sites make indirect advertisment for shady tunghori. Nobody knows where this seller from Macau gets his/her figures for sure.
And I share his new listings, too! So I think it's more than fair to feature other sellers on here as well!

"Construction Is well underway, the second level is just about complete. I had to cut down my trees, because I'm going to fit this whole display in a bookshelf, so you get to see a cross section of the tree. I went to the hobby shop to get the materials needed for the huts, also I grabbed up some dead stalks from a decorative grass of some kind, for the thatched roof, so that'll happen soon enough."
Now this is coming along nicely! Those Ewoks know how to build.

"I started working on the crab knight the other day, and I did a few figures today too. I painted a bunch of undead miniatures for Halloween as well.
I started using an airbrush to basecoat figures recently, and today I tried to do more than usual. I really like the effects I got with the orange. I envision him as the leader of some sort of cult, and a couple of high ranking members."

"I still have a bunch of back-catalog to share, but this one is BRAND NEW this morning!
Ebay seller Tunghori recently had Que-Mars Redat in his shop for only 20 bucks and I've been wanting to use that head for awhile! The rest of these parts came out of the parts bin, and I think it turned out pretty damn good! Also included an in-the-works pic this time (decided against the red wrap). The leg camo and boots got some paint to darken, the shoulders and chest now match, and neck had to be painted. All that paint on the chest meant I had to repaint the necklace to fix paint issues.
I might have to weather this one a bit more, but was excited to share something new this morning..."

I just removed newspapers from back then from the table, which I got from IKEA for about 80€ (15€ for each leg, 20€ for the plate).

"There are a few projects in view, but probably no spoilers. Here's a shot of my workbench.
The garage workbench had budget priority so I do have a nice space for larger projects (with a nearby beer-fridge) out in the garage, but it can be cold, or hot in the garage, and I sometimes have to compete for space with my wife's crafty projects.Next thing the garage needs is a spray booth for airbrushing."

A Marauder head, and I don't remember where the replacement belt and cloak came from make this Anya Kuro (The Dark Woman) comic book custom. (Really easy head-swap just fit.)
And a just-for-fun Duro general. (Inspired by Gar Stazi from the Legacy comics.)
(Had to cut off the old style neck-peg, and dremel into the head to make it sit on the new style chest-mounted neck ball joint.)"

"I started working on the main floor. I just hot glued the sticks to the piece of foam core. From the set references, it looks like they used some kind of mud on the wood flooring, I guess to blend and fill in gaps. So I made up a mud mixture made of water, spackle, leftover homemade dirt, from my l'ameu diorama, and some black/grey paint. I slathered it around. It's still wet as of now. We'll see how it looks when it dries. It's great because the figures will be able to stand better."

"Hi All,
The Batmobile is completed.
Recipe.
I firstly unscrewed the car and then sanded area's that needed it and I built the controls, steering grip, seat and the area behind the seat using plastic card.Once all the controls and greeblies were added I sprayed the car using Rust - Oleum Matt Black and once dry gave the whole car a light dry brush of a 50/50 mix of Vallejo's Silver/Matt black to highlight the recesses and also painted the rims and engine thruster at the back of the car.
I then used Vallejo's Flat Red, Light Green and Medium Blue for the buttons and switches. The computer screen above the steering grip is a map with the green being the road and the red being the blocks and the two white colour dots are villain's and the black dot is the Batmobile.

"Here's one of my oldest! This figure has to be 18 or 19 years old! I swapped Tarkin's lower body with a POTF2 Motti to give POTF2 Tarkin a better "skirt". This is STILL my go-to Tarkin figure because I missed the 2012 Vintage Collection Tarkin (the prequel Tarkin is crap), and I can't afford an aftermarket 2012 Vintage one."
I keep thinking Hasbro will re-release that one, but we haven't seen it yet. Good custom though.

"Hi All,
Here's a WIP of the 12" Mattel Batman Missions Batmobile to custom for my 1:12 Mezco Sovereign Knight Batman which will go with the new batcave diorama I'm starting. I first removed the peg holes that hold the missile launchers and have started covering them up. I have also added an interior using foan board for the seat and plastic card and plastic bits to make the interior.

"Hey guys. Been working a lot lately but made some progress. Reworked the oval vent covers I had originally sculpted because they looked kinda bad. But these are made from styrene. Did some detail work on them and added the hoses on the left one. Also getting closer to finishing the paint job as well. Next will be the lighting in the cockpit. Enjoy"
