"Here's a few simple customs involving mostly head swaps and minimal modifications
Armand Isard - body is Mosep Bineed. To be honest not sure where the head was from. I think I took it from a Imperial officer I got in a lot purchase. For all I know the previous owner did a head swap. LOL
Governor Pryce - Deena Shan body. Indiana Jones villain head (don't remember her name)
Finn (Stormtrooper)
Mara Jade - Black Widow head from a TRU exclusive figure."
These all turned out great and had minimal modifications. Sometimes the best customs are the simple ones.

3D printed a throne and spray painted in layers of brown and khaki. Sprayed a bit of off white for the stone effect. Drybrushed the Rancor ornaments with metallic gold.

Hard to believe Christmas is just a day away and before the hustle and bustle of today to get ready I wanted to take the time to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season.
We also want to thank you for your awesome support and comments and submissions and overall positive vibes you have lent us this year. Covid has sure put many of us in a "bah humbug" mood, but your patronage here at the Yards has helped many of us deal with it in a good way.
I would also be remiss if I didn't thank all of the custom artists for sharing their work. Without folks like you sharing your tips and techniques and encouraging folks to try out customizing this Shipyards wouldn't be a fraction of the place you have made it to be. I am just amazed daily and the level of ingenuity and precision and imagination displayed here. It really does feel a little like Christmas Day every morning I get to get up and see what new magic has been posted.
Lastly, I want to thank all of the veterans and their families out there who are putting their celebrations on hold to enable us to live the life of freedom many of us take forgranted today. I don't think we give those fine folks in uniform enough support. Thank You for your service and allowing us to live the way we want to live!

"custom EV-9D9
Sadly, we haven't had a new EV-9D9 since the POTF2 line. One of the first customs I made was an EV that could sit down. I had to get two of them as there needed to be an overlap at the elbows and knees. I used cut off small nails as pins for the hinges."

"I have completed my latest diorama piece, I added foliage to external sides and pieces of brick rubble. I then dry brushed the statue to blend it in a little with the temple, before glueing all pieces except for the statue and boulder at the front together."

Most challenging part of doing these "One Sith" figures are their Sith tattoos."

"I finished the Dianoga dumpster prop. It's a cool little background piece, as well as a main object. I've been procrastinating on this, been doing other things, but it's Sunday, no football I really want to watch so I decided to finish my Dianoga.
The Dianoga are an invasive species on Galgrebaa, stowed away on merchant ships, to find homes in sewers and dumpsters. They feed on organic waste, rodents, other invasive species and small sentient beings such as Jawas, who often scour dumpsters looking for anything they can find to sell. The Galgrebians don't care much for Jawas, so they allow the Dianoga to live among them, feeding on undesirables, until they get big enough to feed on humans."
How cool is that! Couldn't you just see that in a dumpster!

"I'm finally done with my AT-STs tour and finished the last one I had in line. Different from the other two which had a heavy and light weathering applied to it, for this one I choose to only replicate the classic colours and that's it.
To be honest this one could be moved to another dio so I still want to have the oportunity to mod it further."

"Custom Speeder Bike
First I have to give credit to being inspired by someone I saw many many years ago who modded a STAP into a speeder bike. However I took it quite further here. I combined parts of a STAP along with a POTF2 Speeder Bike. The center kick stand is part of a POTF2 EV-9D9 leg and additional bits of legs used for side engine detail. The shifter is from a 21-B. Additional misc bits were used as well."

"Earlier this year, we made a Star Wars Rebels Ursa Wren from a 3D printed model kit from Angry Racoon Miniatures that we purchased from his Etsy store. The kit arrives attached to the scaffolding from the print and once clipped free and sanded it's ready for paint."

We are so happy to be posting our first custom action figure from the new Star Wars animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch. We would have loved to have shown you all one sooner, but these figures take quite a lot of time to create and since we don't get advanced pictures from Lucasfilm the way Hasbro does, we are apt to move at a much slower pace as a result.
The particular figure came about because a patron commissioned us to make this one-of-a-kind piece."

"Today I started working on the accessories and to make this look like a lost ruin temple. First using some of the broken bricks originally taken from the walls, I cut them down and rolled tin foil over them and then coated them in a base black coat. When they dried, I added the same grey that I used for the walls. When that's dried I will black wash them and then dry brush them."
Folks that is just the first of two new updates on this. I am telling you, with this statue and the vegetation work I am so reminded of my favorite episode of SW Visions.

"Hi All,
Stargate Diorama roughly 1:56 scale.
Recipe.
Jaffa - the miniatures are downloaded from myminifactory and made by Monstrous Encounters and I printed them off with my resin printer. Here is the link https://www.myminifactory.com/.../3d-print-sg-royal-guard... these are 32mm and 28mm miniatures and resized them to 1:56 scale. I have also resized some to 1:35 scale and the details even up sizing are awesome, I painted them using Vallejo Paints.
Base - is a piece of foam with balsa wood sides, the Stargate is a resin print I did and the monoliths and statues are from some spare 1:6 scale Indiana Jones Map room diorama I have had lying around.
The stairs were done using foam and the floor was done by using a pencil and drawing them in the the main base foam, the said is a mix of spakfilla/sand.

"I've started painting. First I have given it a black undercoat and once it had dried, I mixed up a light grey with a touch of blue acrylic mix then taking a sponge I dabbed the paint over the model.
My next step once the paint dries is to apply a black wash over the stone before dry brushing."

"Hi All,
3rd Legion Trooper - Lunar Wars.
This was a simple custom to do which is just a repaint and custom base. I have added a before and after picture of the figure.
Recipe.
Figure - is from Joytoy and I decided to repaint it white with blue offsets using Vallejo Paints and the decals are from 1:20 scale Maschinen Krieger kit.
Base - is an old action figure base and the large rocks are pieces of high density foam ripped apart and glued on and then I used a mix of spakfilla/sand and applied it and then used kitty litter for the smaller rocks. Once the ground work was dry I then painted and weathered the rocks and ground using Vallejo Paints.

"Yes! The books, which we imported by air freight, started shipping to backers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, we couldn't bring in every book by air because, as much as we wanted to, the price to do so was prohibitive.
As with tasks of this type, the more books we process, the quicker we'll get at it. If our current ETA holds and books arrive around Dec. 23/24, our goal is to have all books shipped (in order of pledge) around Jan. 15. We'll keep you updated as we refine the process and have a better understanding of how long it will take to get all books out."
It also sounds like some who have messaged them about these books being Christmas gifts were able to get their orders expedited too.

And that's all she wrote for the Rancor. We gotta hope we can see this offering further down the road. I know we are all left wondering what would have happened had the Rancor Keeper been announced earlier, but you know what they say about hindsight.

Well we have our first Star Wars HasLab that didn't meet its goal. It did get quite a few new backers yesterday (over a thousand), but didn't meet the 9,000 by the end of the backing period.

"Here's my custom X-wing pilot Leia inspired by some comic book appeareances. Used a TVC Hoth Leia. Boots are from a Rebels Kanan. Vest was cut off and ground down from another Xwing pilot, along with the leg flares and gauntlets. Harness was made from ribbon."
She looks awesome to me. Man, she needs a custom X-Wing!

"I created a small set of steps to run along the outside of the temple and moulded one set of the rocks to fit over them. Each of these pieces has not been glued together, I've left it all separate to make it easier to paint before making this all a single piece diorama."

My business, Hole in the Ground Productions has been around since 2005 as a prop, costume, and set design company. Several years ago I branched out into diorama parts. I've seen many people here making use of my diorama kits and thought it's about time I start visiting here myself. LOL I've had customers in all 50 US states and more than 30 other countries. Almost all our kits are cast resin."

"I sold this one off about a year ago. We moved and it was designed for a shelf at our old place. Plus, this was before I got into making diorama parts and kits. It used Frank Diorio's decals. I had LED Christmas lights bundled in between levels. Never got much done on the surface and never finished the med-bay bunk."

"Hi All,
Dracula display and figure completed.
Note - last pic is what Dracula looks like out of package.
Recipe.
Dracula - is from Jada Toys and I repainted him using Vallejo and GW paints and I made the face more fleshly/white instead of the complete white which he came as.
Base - is high density foam and I carved the stones walls/floor and stairs using a pencil, the door is balsa wood with plastic card for the bolts and door handle and the wall torch is made using plastic parts from the bits box.
The flame is Woodland Scenics Water Effects and once dry I painted the flat side with orange/yellow/red/white and the spider webs are pieces of cotton ripped apart and glued in place. The coffin is made using cardboard and balsa wood and the white fabric inside is tissue paper which was secured with watered down PVA glue and then painted white."
Yep its the Hemble. You knows its over the top good!

Dont get me wrong, I love when hasbro releases stuff; new cast, old cast, overpriced and stuff. With some custom work the vehicle can be better, and by that I mean way better. Here is the final result:"

"Figured I'll start this thread with the last custom I just finished. I still had the Kenner Landspeeder from when I was a kid. Shifter was broken, decals barely there, windshield and seats glued as well as other things that had broken years ago. So I decided to give it new life and turn it into a fancy new speeder."

"I've etched it brickwork into the top of the pillars and aged the bases of each pillar and the floor. I am now in two minds whether to add an external layer of foam to the two side walls and etch external brickwork and then whether to have solid walls or to match the external wall to the internal?
Instead of using The Phantom, today He-Man is the model."

"I thought this would be a simple project but the weird hinging function for three sides I felt would really compromise the structural integrity so I settled for a single side hatch. Always seemed a weird way to open something anyway. I thought about doing a twist and telescope up design but had already cut the side out. Had to use aluminum to keep the door at the correct curve. Its obvious for the show they scratch made the entire thing. I have a blinking green light and interior light. The door working manually with a magnet to hold in place."
Now all he needs is an orange jumpsuit and he can do the run!

"I've never actually gotten to take these to ANY event yet! I built them to go with my Scanning Crew costume. Between the two halves, they can transport both my MSE mouse droids as well as 3 MSE train cars. Open the top to reveal tools and beneath that is storage. Problem is the top crate is rather heavy (made from thick MDF)."

"I revisited my custom Mandalore Maul after getting the Vintage 3 3/4 Maul.
I wanted to make mine as accurate to the Hot Toys one as possible with the butterfly shoulder joints.
Resculpted his arms and legs.
Made a new tunic out of custom cut leather.
Working belt for lightsaber hilt from Bradharris whos on Instagram.
Custom detatchable lightsaber hilt that clips on to his belt.
Custom removable hood.
Throne was printed from model by Landspeederluke.

I've recently been fascinated by the Legacy era of the old expanded universe stories and have started to fill out my collection with figures from those elusive comic packs.
Instead of getting the official Darth Talon figure however, I decided to make Darth Talon in Battle Armor! Obviously she never wears this in the comics, but my custom has design similarities to several images:

"I have glued all of the pieces for the pillars together, marked out and etched in the brickwork and added a layer of 6 mm foam board to the base. When that is dry I will etch in the stone slabs, before deciding on what to do for the roof."
