"I got the AK Interactive True Metal aluminum. It's a wax based metallic finish, that works with the plastic Hasbro uses. It has the consistency of oil based paint. You just apply it to whatever you want, then buff it out with a cloth, I use a cotton ball, and for small areas a Q-tip.

It makes a great shine. It's almost a mirror finish, not quite. It's somewhere between vac metal and the new metallic paint Hasbro uses.

Pictures Really don't do it justice. I guess that's why I was fooling with the camera and broke the whole page. Anyhows, heres the link

"I just used paint pens, and wrote random stuff. I'm sure with practice, you can make cool lettering and something much much better than I did. It's just trying to get the Aurebesh lettering right. I didn't want to get too fancy my first attempt.

Hey Starchaser, those Roblox accessories really did the trick. Now my punk kids are complete. The boombox is from the Mezco cockroach guy I used for that last figure I did.

I used these colours to paint the kit:
-Tamiya german grey TS-4 acrylic spray paint: for the superstructures
-Vallejo model wash for grey and dark vehicles: for the weathering
-Revell enamel paint grey matt 43 for the drybrushing
-Revell enamel paint metalic silver and light orange for the engines

The deatils on this small kit are phenomenal. Another wonderful Star Wars model kit from Bandai."

"Here's another Leia from the Expanded Universe.

Princess Leia (X-Wing Pilot) 6" custom (based on Dark Horse Comics - 'In The Shadow Of Yavin')

Uses slightly repainted 6" TBS 56 Jaina Solo figure, helmet, belt, vest & harness. As Jaina is quite a tall figure, to make the figure a bit shorter I took a bit off the tops of the thighs and redid the sockets. Head from 6" TBS 75 Leia Hoth with added hair pieces - ponytail from DC Comics Designer Series 3 Raven."

The good old, 1/12 phase 1 Cody and Locke variant heads are around for the six inch commanders
I’m wanting to paint another one of those pretty badly

Got the 1/18 clone wars phase 2 heads and helmets going again.
Got the Fordo pauldron, alternate helmet, and blaster also.

I had lost the little helmet antenna piece for my custom Cody so I cast another one for this shot but haven’t painted it yet. I made this one several years ago."

"I thought I would add some graffiti to my alley. Nothing special, as I'm not a graffiti artist. The alley was just missing something. I used "Painter" paint pens from Wal-Mart. The ones I bought from Michael's was just expensive junk magic markers. Waste of money."

"I made a crate handler droid. It's designed to carry the crates I made out of those walmart containers. It's made entirely out of Dollar Tree items, except for the middle tube, that is from the paper roll for my handheld work printer. The base is from a toy tank. The arms are made from spray bottle and firetruck parts."

"I went to the dollar tree and picked up a bunch of junk. Firstly I'll get more into the different spray bottles. I got a salon style metal bottle (Black). This doesn't have as many mechanical parts, like the others have, just some small bits. Not that great.

Then the average bottle (Pink) has little more than the black, but the parts are different from the Clear parts I showed earlier."

"I made a simple character made from a mezco commander Gomez head, Rio Durant body (slightly repainted) and rotj luke boots. He is slightly inspired by those old army ant figures.

Or-Kin-Maan was a mercenary hired by the Galgrebian government just prior to the Clone Wars. Knowing war was imminent, the Galgrebian government, in addition to requiring all citizens to prepare for battle, hired offworld mercenaries in exchange for full citizenship."

"The build is now complete for this diorama. I have etched brick work and cracks into the floor and walls. The edges need sanding before this can be painted.

I've been asked to build 5 Imperial Crates for a client. Each crate measures 3"× 3"× 3" and is made from foam board glued together with hot glue. I've made 2 tester crates to see how they turn out, they will work lovely against my Nevarro set when I've fished them."

"As I've said before, I watch Warhammer diorama videos on YouTube for ideas and inspiration. A channel called Bill Making things uses spray bottles a lot. In fact there was a challenge between Bill Making Things, Dark Matter Workshop and Miniature Hobbyist on who can make the best terrain scatter using only spray bottle parts. It was such an inspiration I figured I would try it myself Star Wars style.

I've found there are two basic designs of spray bottles. The cheap windex model has a lot of small parts, the other (pictured) has a simpler design. I didnt take a picture of all the parts I used. I used both types of spray mechs, and some soap pump parts. I decided to make a Moisture Vaporator/ Star Wars fire hydrant/ water pump thing. It's small enough I can set it pretty much anywhere I want in my spaceport project."

Now this is just a great idea and excellent execution.

"Nothing particularly complicated this time. :)

First up is Endor Han. My biggest complaint with the factory version isn't actually the torso, which is largely concealed by the vest and coat. It's the legs. Something's got to be done about the legs! Since the upcoming Endor Han will apparently be a re-release of ol' Barrel Chest, I decided to work something out.

Next, the ISB needed reinforcements.

For some reason many of my Imperials look similar. Can't figure it out. I used Vallejo ochre brown to make one of the scanning techs a blond, but still... For the badges, I stripped the factory paint with Winsor-Newton brush cleaner, then masked the areas and painted the entire badges with Testors aluminum."

Trust me folks I just scratched the surface of a great update.

I think everyone knows by now that the actress that has played Cara Dune on the Mandalorian has been fired for a series of political posts on social media. I myself have been up and down on this one and wanted to know what you think.

Darth More has started us off on this subject and I can really respect the replies that have been posted so far. Once again, we respect differences of opinion here at the yards, but not trolling or outright flaming.

"Before doing the final pictures, it's time to start the next one.

I've been commissioned to build a small Star Wars diorama, measurements 5" × 5" × 5" for a 3.75" figure. I have been give free reign on what it can be off in Star Wars, my client told me he wanted this for his Black Series Clone Commander Wolffe wearing specializes desert gear, I am going to base this diorama around the figure’s appearance in Star Wars The Clone series.

This piece will is made from underfloor insulation foam board and measurement are 5? x 5? x 5?. I have started by cutting the pieces the required which are a floor with two side. The side pieces are two pieces of 10 mm and 6 mm glued together with PVA. After they have dried I will start carving stone work into the them."

This is gonna be a fun one too. I really like what he has done with his Nevarro Dios.

"Yuup droid is reddey! I built yet another Gonk using the saga one. I got one more after this and that's it, I promise. I had to glue the feet together, because of the dumb walking feature, that prohibits the droid from standing. Then i cut off the button on the side and greebled it up. I base coated with black, then yellow. I don't know why my yellow spray is coming out so thin, I need a new can. It's just weathered. It's been used, screwed, bruised and tattooed.

HO-12 was a larger version of the HO-9, with a gas cooled generator. He ran on liquified Tibanna. When the Tibanna converts from liquid to gas, it cools the generator while providing fuel."

I am really enjoying this Gonk trip JDeck has been taking us on lately.

"I have a casting of the Pre Vizsla dark saber for reference.

I like this shape but need to compare it to still shots from the Mando series to see if the more modern design of the newer released sabers hilt is more screen accurate.

With that one are the factory six inch Moff Gideon dark saber and a shortened resin mock up that I’m planning on using as a master part to mold."

"I have finished these two scaled for 6" figure. I completed this piece by spraying adhesive over the floor and dry brushing the pipes and doors.

Each can be individually displayed or placed alongside each other to make a street scene. The measurements are 12" × 9" x 6" perfect to pose you Star Wars Black Series and create a scene from The Mandalorian."

New dio/display WIP and this one is going to be a book nook diorama which I will use between my books. I still need to wait for the wall lights section to dry that’s why the unpainted ones are in the dio.

I’ll also have lights in the roof using LED’s with the on/off switch attached to the back. The walls are 3D prints which a mate did for me and they are great as I also used them for the Vader and Tarkin dio I did.

diameter: 61,5mm or 2,42"
hight with the display stand: 96mm or 3,78"
retail price: ~25€ (2020)

I used these colours to paint the kit:
-Revell light grey USAF 34176 acrylic spray paint as a primer
-Tamiya german grey TS-4 acrylic spray paint for for the internal parts
-Revell enamel paint grey matt 43 for the drybrushing of the internal parts and the details in the dish
-Revell Aqua Color grey silk matt 374 for the panels and cotton buds
-Valejo bright bronze 72.057 for the details of the internal parts

The kit is very detailed for the small scale and like all Bandai kits it is very clever designed. All parts fit well together but there are small gaps here and there. The trickiest part for me was painting the panels. The raised panels on the Death Star are darker than panel lines. I primed the the parts with Revell light grey USAF. Afterwards I applied Revell Aqua Color grey silk matt with a cotton swab to the surface."

"Seems like folks are missing the 3 3/4 stuff.
More favorites from that scale, hollow phase 2 Arf and the good ole Pre Vizsla Dark saber are going now.

About that Dark saber, if anyone else noticed, the new Moff Gidion Dark Sabers in both available Hasbro scales are a wildly exaggerated reminder of what this closer to screen accurate version represents. That blade in the six inch version at least needs to be fixed.

I plan on tackling that task in the future."

Needless to say, the parts look great.

"Hi All,

Imperial Recon Sniper 1:12 scale.

Nothing to special with this one as I had a spare trooper and just wanted something simple to do.
Recipe.

Trooper - is from Hasbro BS 6" line and I repainted all the black areas and also the blue, silver and grey areas on the helmet, The rifle is from SW Bandai trooper and the throw over and green wraps around the rifle are dried baby wipes painted green.

Base - is two SW Bandai bases with balsa wood sides and the ground work was built up using foam and the rocks are pieces of high density foam which I ripped apart.

The ground work was built up using spakfilla and sand and then once dry it was painted and then I used mulch to cover the ground and the ferns are from the local craft store and the grass tufts and coloured tufts are from Army Painter.

"I wasn't happy with floor of the 3.75", using scenic foliage and stone on a base of pva glue. I have shaded the crevices of the doors and windows and edged the walls. I have just some final touches to do and these will be completed."

He has since added some updates to the six inch versions of these he is doing too.

"Using my airbrush to apply different tones of grey over the these pieces. Applying gunmetal grey to the doors of the larger pieces, a brown and metallic brown doors to the smaller dioramas. I would like to darken the floor and still need to finish the doors before calling these complete."

"Here is a new head for a custom Osi Sobeck action figure. Dad made a placeholder head for him when he made the figure for a "Customizing The Clone Wars" epiosde covering the Citadel arc from the show. Dad said we would be revisiting the head during the episode, but neither of us thought that it would take 4 years to get around to it.

"I made a couple more GONKs. The first is a mixed franchise Star Wars Futurama Planet Express GONK. It has a similar paint scheme, using mostly Tamiya Cobalt Green Spray, Vallejo flat red. Also I had some Planet Express decals that I put on there. Not many Greebles, I had an old Cell Phone that was destroyed, so I took it apart and used some micro chip parts. They make really cool tiny details for computers and machines.

The Other is the Texaco GONK. I used Tamiya Dull red as the basecoat. I drybrushed different shades, added the decals then sprayed matte clear over it. Then blackwashed."

These are just great!

"So, starting off slowly, I have a bit of time and have made a few new molds and plan to make some more today. There will be a few 3 3/4 pieces in there but I started out with some 6 inch stuff. I couldn’t resist showing a Grogu with his stash shot before I really get started. Separate cast head on that guy, the rest of his body is just a static piece. I cleaned the parts with a knife but haven’t sanded anything yet. If you click the pic, you can see the embossed imperial cog and even the gentle shimmering steel effect pattern on the beskar ingots."

"Instead of making these as two seperate pieces like the other two, I decided to make these pieces interlocking. I made a new piece of flooring with the top layer a half an inch longer then on the other piece I cut half an inch off the top layer. Simple but effective.

All that needs to be done now is to glue the facades to the floor and then they are all ready to be undercoated."

He is really going to town on his Modular Star Wars Nevaro Dios.

"I made a Gonk droid, one of many I will be making. Being that it's made of hard plastic, I was able to spray paint it. Painting Gonks in the past I used acrylic, and it just scratched off. Spray paint is more durable. Then I added model kit parts. Then gave it a series of washes, and dry brushings.

HO-9 Was a modified Gonk droid owned by the Mining Guild. He was modified for high output. He sported a pair of heavy duty outlets, a water cooled generator, and a high flow oiling system."

Now this is one nice custom droid folks.
