"I've been working on my big trees. I made them out of mailing tubes for posters or whatever., 3"×24". I mixed up some "paper mache" but its like paper pulp mixed with plaster basically. I formed a rough tree shape, thicker on the bottom and used my fingers to make the redwood bark lines going from top to bottom or bottom to top."

"I got some super magnets from Amazon. They're not as strong as I was hoping but it was a pack of 10. So I cut out a piece of foamcore the diameter of the moon, then hot glued the light to one side and 5 of the magnets to the other. Then stuck the other 5 magnets on the other side of the black backdrop. I put the light on the lowest setting but it's still pretty bright. But it's a success, I'll take it. The third shot was turning the moon light off, and shining a light from under the moon. Interesting effect.
Beware of the Endor Moon.
Steer clear of the moors."
Talk about one great effect!

"I was excited that Hasbro was making a ROM Spaceknight figure. Not so excited when it was part of an SDCC exclusive bundled with a bunch of other figures. At $100+ for that one figure on the secondary market, you make your own! So here's my ROM figure.

"This one is REALLY exciting! My wife is out of town for the weekend so I've been painting a lot!
This is another 3d print project, but mixed with Disney Droid parts. The head, chest, crotch, and glue-on shoulder armor are 3D prints from Cal Keb (@audes_workshop on Instagram).
The arms and legs are (expensive fodder) from the Disney 4-LOM figure.
The chest and crotch pieces have ports that fit the Disney BAD arm and leg pegs so this 3D custom is fully articulated! But probably a little more delicate than a Hasbro figure."
Man, sign me up. I would love to have a figure in our SW Verse like this!

Have wanted to do a figure of this species for a while, was designing it off a Jazwares Halo Brute figure (which just felt too big) when Soundrel's Stock put the exact head sculpt up on their site. So back to the drawing board to produce a figure I'm really happy with:
Letarius Vasso – same species at Jastus Farr; a Jedi “Brute” (from the ROTS video game) who was off-planet during the Purge, on mission to his home planet – a closely guarded secret – to recruit potential new Jedi Peacekeepers."
These are all awesome. a Jedi Brute is a great idea. Love to see the Naga influence too.

"Final Faction" Accessory Sets Series 2 Review:
Tonight, I opened all of the "Final Faction" Series 2 Accessory Sets I had purchased yesterday after work. This time around, instead of vaguely themed accessory sets like the majority of those in series 1, each accessory set in series 2 is specifically intended for a specific character. These sets are a cheap and easy means of accessorizing the figures from this line (or any 3.75"/4" action figures), but are also a bit of a mixed bag depending on how you intend to use them.
The sets intended for the Alpha Team heroes are primarily made from hard plastic while the sets intended for the Kharn villains are made from soft and flexible vinyl."

These types of characters are so fantastic and so needed in our Star Wars AF Line. Man I would buy multiples. I love his idea about cooking droids too.

"I played around with some night shots. I need to figure out how to make a moon without photoshop.
I think i figured something out. I have this clear plastic dome that I accidentally frosted, and was made useless for the thing I was making, but I kept it, and it'll make a cool moon. I can mount it to black foamcore using strong magnets, so I can move the moon wherever I want and use the remote to turn it on, off and change colors."
It is really looking fantastic already and he is still working on it.

"And back again for my once in a blue moon post showing my latest miniatures.
I have recently picked up a resin printer (Elegoo Mars 3 for those interested) and have been very busy printing and painting when I have the time.
First batch of minis are official Star Wars Legion clan wren mandalorians painted up as a few of my guild mates characters. The rest are all 3D printed courtesy of Seb Miniatures now Anvilrange Studios."
Love the detail on such a small scale here!

"Today is a rainy day, so I started basing the trees I've already made. I have 13 trees so far each with their own base. They can be arranged in any way I want to create different configurations.
I just took some foam, whether floral or insulation foam and made irregular shapes and rounded them off. Then I painted them using my special formula of Modge Podge, brown paint and cocunut substrate for texture. Then I sprinkled them with my Endor forest litter, then apllied ferns and bushes.
I made a couple mounds out of floral foam bricks, that I can stack my tree bases onto. The pink/purple area is going to be my subject area, that ill leave flat so I can add figures and plants or whatever."

"This figure was made with a painted head that we purchased from the online store of Spartan 118 Customs. He has a lot of fantastic painted heads to choose from. When we saw his Episode III Obi-Wan Kenobi head, we knew it was time to swap the head out on our ROTS action figure. We had to modify the original figure by reducing the ball joint and then we also needed to increase the size of the hole in the head itself before attaching it, but we love the results. This figure looks absolutely fantastic now.

"TIE Crawler conversion kit now available. Turn your TIE fighter into a crawler! Simply pop off wing the snap in the treads. Features side cannons and slide open doors to deploy troops or hold cargo. On the inside of the tread bodies there are two slotted pieces. My idea is to make "add on" modules so people can adapt the crawler for different tasks by simply sliding in different modules. Anything from a dump truck bed, troop transportation, a gunner station, etc. Any ideas would be welcome. FYI, I used the TVC cockpit. The mechanics of most TIE molds are pretty much the same so the treads should work for any with the pop off wings. However, some modification may be necessary. Even with this one, the one side attaches nicely, but the other doesn't like to stay on near as well.

"I knew I wanted to do more than one villain for my gf's Mando character, and I knew I wanted at least one of them to be a female Mando. So while I was finishing up Klaev Viddek, I got the idea to do a female counterpart in the same, or a similar style as Klaev. While they look very similar in their armor colors and designs, I wanted the female villain to be a bit more extreme and evil than Klaev.
Meet Rael Kyvvith, a mysterious and brutal Mandalorian assassin. While not much is known about who she actually is, her reputation precedes her and strikes fear into the hearts of other Mandalorians and those with bounties on their heads."

"Hi All,
Awaiting Rescue 1:12 scale. I was originally going to have the scout firing his sniper rifle but thought it would look more realistic him leaning up against his destroyed speeder having injuries which he sustained in the crash.
Recipe.
Scout/Speeder - are from Hasbro's Black Series line and I glued and puttied up the joints and the head is from Mezco's Batman Ascending Knight figure and I added putty to his left eye and forehead and the blood is a mix of clear resin, bright red paint and matt black paint.
The tarp is a dried baby wipe which was painted and weathered using Vallejo's Pastel Green and Beige Brown and I used Vallejo Paints to paint and weather both the scout and speeder.
Base - is high density foam cut out to the desired look, the tree is a branch which I I cut to size and then soaked in methylated spirits to kill any bugs and stop it from rotting.
The ground work is a mix of spakfilla/potty mix and sand and the small ferns on the tree are from Greenstuff World and the larger ferns are from the local craft store and the smaller clumps of foliage are from Joefix Studios and the grass tufts I got off ebay

"A skiff guard and a couple of throwaways this time.
First is Barada. Dithered with this one for a long time trying to find a collar solution. Needs more disco, but this is the best I can do without sculpting.
Next up, I replaced some horrible joints on a Saga Legends Plo Koon.
Lastly, I slapped together a Snivvian pathfinder just to use up a few Endor Rebel parts and keep Orrimarko and his crew company."

"KEEP IT ON THE CARD" PACKAGE
Painted up these two offerings we got from Rebel Kid Creations. Really wanted to display these two on our collection shelves but didn't want to open my carded figure from my new HasLab Razor Crest. This "Keep It On The Card" Package was a great solution! It includes all the extra accessories needed to accessorize one of my Outworld Jawas and convert him into the Jawa Elder. All I needed to do was apply a little acrylic paint.
The figure is just a cool bonus. Really love the likeness in the headsculpt!

"So I have this idea to make a modular Endor forest, so I can set up different scenes take pictures and pack it up. If you know me I like Endor, so i have plenty of Endor forest diorama materials.
I bought some coconut lizard substrate for ground effects. Made a ton of forest litter using mostly ground up moss.and found materials. I think it was Darth more who gave me the idea to use palm tree tops for ferns and they work great! I just stuck some scewers in the bottom so I can later stick the ferns into the foam bases.
I made a bunch of shubbery using Crape Myrtle sticks and woodland scenics fine leaf foliage. I have about 14, but I have a lit more materials left. It's all about the layering."
Folks this is just the start of two great dio updates.

"Hi All,
Smurf Trek.
This was a commission for a friend.
Recipe.
Smurfs/Tribbles - are from Jakks Pacific and I repainted them using Vallejo Paints and I printed off the emblems and cut them out and glued them on. The phasers/tricorders/communicators are from Mezco One:12 Star Trek figures and the tribbles are just small fur balls from the craft store which I dry brushed.
Base - is high density foam and the dirt is a mix of spakfilla/dirt/sand and applied and once dry it was painted and the mushrooms were printed using my 3D printer and the tall fury plant stems I removed from some plastic ferns I use for Endor diorama.

"Did some minor accessory modifications to the "Halo" gravity hammers. I added pegs to the handles (donated from the SPNKRs from the Armory Set) so my Brute Soldiers can carry them on their backs as secondary weapons similar to how they would be carried in game."

"The custom momentum continues to flow and I just finished another custom Mandalorian. I plan to make myself as a Mando to join my girlfriend's Mando on our shelves (as soon as Hasbro releases the 6" Death Watch Mando figure). In the meantime I figured it'd be fun to make us some villains to face off against together.
I present Klaev Viddek, a Mandalorian warlord and big game hunter. When he's not conquering planets and plundering cities with his band of marauding Mandos, he hunts fearsome fauna across the galaxy."

"Emperor Roan Fel
I bought an extra Imperial Knight Antares Draco figure to customize into Roan Fel. In the final act of the Legacy comic run, Fel wore a variation of the Imperial Knight armor with an additional collar boasting the Imperial symbol.
I saw a custom on worthpoint that used the Starkiller head for a Roan Fel custom, which is ingenious. I took it a step further by sculpting hair over the head to match his hairstyle in the comics.
Additionally, I sculpted the collar on over the armor.
I also made a lightsaber hook for the belt with a corresponding hanger on the hilt so that the hilt could hang from the belt.
Here's the finished product! Referencing another comic panel, I cut his lower robes to be knee-level."
This just turned out awesome!

"There's a new arrival at Outpost 423.
A little more than a year ago the custom Star Wars community lost one of its best to Covid. Stanley Opiel II was a prolific and talented customizer. His goal was to bring every character from the Original Trilogy to life in 1:18 scale, remaining faithful to the modern Hasbro aesthetic. I'm serious, if you are unfamiliar with Stan's customs you should definitely take a few minutes to go check them out.

It was literally Stan's community building that made this figure happen; one of Stan's long-time collaborators, the uber-talented sculptor John Evergrey, made (and painted) this outstanding head sculpt which allowed me the chance to put a Stan figure in the Outpost.

"So I brought home a new cabinet last week.
Walmart had dropped their price on last years Simpsons Arcade1Up by $130 so I went ahead and pulled the trigger and brought it home.
After reassembly, the coin doors look great.
This is a pretty cab anyways, I think
The original arcade game had the miscolored blue shirt on Bart and it carried over for this port."

Mathematically brilliant, they can seem cold, aloof, and rude to others. Their physiology doesn't help either, being associated with monsters or other creepy creatures from many species' nightmares."

"The new Grunt Mule figures suffer from a rather poor design in that they are supposed to carry 3 additional weapons on their backs, but with all of the Halo accessories having posts on their lateral sides, you can only really fit 1 weapon on the figure. By removing and relocating the posts to the dorsal sides of the weapons, I can now fully stock each Grunt Mule with a full compliment of armament.
I do, however, require several additional Covenant weapons to fully kit out all 6 of my Grunt Mules."
Now that is some smart thinking.

"A thousand Jedi died cursing Darth Desolous! Now you, too, shall scream my name."
Those two lines immediately stuck with me. After fighting through imperials guarding the creepy, sad Temple ruins, encountering this character topped off the whole experience.
Here's Darth Desolous:
The figure is mainly a Revenge of the Sith Utapauan Warrior. I cut off the crown from the headpiece then glued it to the head. The lightsaber hilt is a piece cut from the figure's staff. For the collar, I used soft goods. The cape is from a 5POA Chirrut Imwe figure. Enjoy!"

"Hi All,
Pirate Smurf.
Recipe.
Smurf/house/items - the smurf is Grumpy form Jakks Pacific and I added the eye patch and belt using pleather and the buckle is from a 1:12 rifle. The mushroom house is from Scheilch and I removed the back so you can add the figure and see inside better and the table and chairs on the bottom floor and top floor are made from balsa wood and the dock/flag pole are also balsa wood and the flag I did using PSP and the items like ships/barrel/bottles/weapons/candles/lantern/ship wheel and shells are all 3D printed
Base - is high density foam and the sand is a mix of spakfilla and dirt and once applied to the base I sprinkled fine sand over it. The low tide water was done using clear resin and the palm tree was done using a thick piece of dowel and then I wrapped string around it and the palms are just cheap ferns I got from the two dollar shop.

"WIP update, I have added a couple of ledges running around the building demonstrated here by Snake Eyes. I will be adding another one to the roof and two smaller ones to where the bricks start and finish before I add the cornerstones.
It's slowly coming together before I start work on its surroundings."

Vishar stood and ran at the shirtless man who was concentrated on Sylvon's body. The man was too engulfed in Sylvon to notice Vishar running at him. The shirtless man quit trying to pull on the piece of shrapnel protruding from Sylvon's collar bone and instead moved to her trouser's pockets searching them. The man never heard Vishar but rather felt him smash his arms into him as Vishar's shoulder thrust him into the sand next to Sylvon's twitching body. The pair of men grunted and struggled as they rolled on the ground. Neither man heard the “blsswoop” of the blue rings of a stun bolts washing over them and sending them both back into the sand unconscious."

"WIP update, in the midst of packing up a house for moving and work being chaotic, I finally found some time to go back and work on this piece.
I have marked our and scored the brickwork on all three levels. For the core, I have cut out 5 windows, 2 on either side and 3 at the front and widened the door. Using a ball of tin foil, I rolled it over each layer of the bricks to achieve a rugged texture.
The next step is to add all fascia bits like cornerstones etc."
Looks great to me.
