RC-1136 adds Grievous to his Photo-Novel Dios...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, April 30 2020

"I took some more action shots and they came out well. With a proper backdrop, these will become top quality dioramas. Might look into a green screen."

That sounds like a great idea. I am anxious to hear the story and see the action!

Darth More shares more great resources...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, April 30 2020

"New forum member Flo Joe is working on an Ewok Village based on the original vintage Kenner version. We were considering which material to use and I went out scouting for him at some local dollar stores.

I started working on my lake on Endor as part of my “peaceful scenes” series. This video by Battlefront Mods on YouTube is a nice source for reference:

And here’s what I found:

I’ll defintely make some boats/rafts for the Ewok fishers with these eco friendly appetizer bowls!"

He also has an update on his diorama we featured yesterday too. The dude just does such great brick and stone work on his dios!

Chuckles is really planning his Shelf Dio well...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, April 30 2020

"Here's something cool that I hadn't mentioned yet. When planning the smaller buildings and mini-dios to go on the big dio shelf I've limited their width so they can fit on the shelf sideways. This way a mini-dio can be used along the back wall, or against one of the side walls.

Or, fit two near each other to make an alleyway."

Nice, very nice!

Chuckles shares two new customs...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, April 30 2020

"And this guy I did last night and this morning. I've had these parts sitting around for awhile, but if I'm going to airbrush some primer on a project I try to make it 3 or 4 projects at once. It saves airbrush cleaning time. It's mostly a Marauder Contract Ops figure, with a Marauder WWII head, a Marauder vest that has been altered to mount the kit from a BBI Elite Forces (Patriot) figure."

He also has a new Team Guy for you to peruse after you check out this post.

Spudafett is back!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, April 29 2020

"Tap. Tap... Is this thing on?

Whoooooweee. It's been a while since I popped in here. Looks like my last post here was sometime in 2015?

So, I'm still alive. I've been busy with other hobbies. Started building cigar box guitars last year... This pandemic has me with more free time than normal... So, after finishing up some other projects and having found some black series figures for fodder recently I decided to pull all the old customizing stuff out and do a few figures.

I've almost exclusively switched to collecting and customizing the 6inch figures. I just can't do the fine details like I used to... and (if you're familiar with my old work) I can't stand the 5 POA crap being put out in the 4inch lines nowadays.

So, here's a couple customs I finished up today.

20-T Railcrawler Conveyex Transport Engineer (driver)

And one that I've been mulling on for over a year now.

What if Star Lord, but in Star Wars?"

Talk about great seeing him back and man what great soft good work on that Driver! And Starlord as a combination Mando Stormy Guy. Awesome!

RCW Creations starts new dios...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, April 29 2020

"I am making another figure display, this one's a corner of an attic. Again the same measurements as before 6"x6"x9". This piece is mainly made from bolsa wood, using foam board for under the floor and the cladding over the slats. I have ripped parts of the foam to reveal the slats behind the board."

As if that wasn't enough he also started on a seventh diorama.

JDeck adds to his Spaceport...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, April 29 2020

"Here is an update on my Droid Workshop. I just finished spackling and painted using Woodland Scenics watercolors. I added some lights I had still in package from Evan's Design. I made a lampshade out of a chrome plated spaceship parabolic dish. I think it was the Odyssey kit."

Trust me folks this is just the start of all the great stuff he did to it!

Clonehead adds his graphics to his mini-arcade...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, April 29 2020

"I got a couple of those front panels wrapped on the Astroids Deluxe machine earlier in the week. I need some practice but it looks ok. I need to get the other three on the riser box.

Waiting on a part to customize a different cabinet in a different way that could show up tomorrow."

He even hinted that certain Wal-Marts are doing some mega clearances on these machines and he has heard of prices going for as low as $1! I checked and didn't find any deals that nice, but who knows. It doesn't hurt to check!

Wow, these eBay Sellers have a ton of great stuff, very reasonably priced!

Chuckles shares some Dio Shelf and Office Updates...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, April 28 2020
"Last you saw of these pieces I had covered them in black. That's a sealing layer of Mod Podge mixed with some black paint. Next I sprayed on a primer color (mostly to get the 1st door color started), followed by the base building color.

I also built this throne thing for my custom Hutt. Gave it a base layer color, and some darker slop sprayed over it. This thing is going to get some heavy dirty wash and weathering."

He has also repainted some small shelves he has made for his custom action figures.

Chuckles adds to his Dio Shelf...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, April 26 2020

"Working on some smaller scenes and buildings that will fit on my large shelf environment. These will be built outside the shelf environment and placed as need on the shelf dio. That way I can move them around for different looks.

It's not as fun though. I like making figures more.

First, in case you haven't seen it, this is the big shelf environment. It's an IKEA shelf with some dividers left out, and other dividers cut to make doors. It's been painted, and I added LED lighting. You can see a ton of greebles on the shelves that will eventually be placed in the environment."

Folks, it is really turning out awesome!

RCW Creations working magic on his Mandalorian Dios...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, April 26 2020

"When the filler had dried, I created a dark sand brown wash, shading the entire floor and crevasses of set.

While that was drying I turned my attention to the pipes. Painting the parts with Games Workshops Retributor Armour, then dry brushed with Necron Compound. After this had dried both parts where glued onto the pieces.

I added filler mix into the crevasses between the pipes and the wall. Dry brushing the mixture over the pipes to weather them.

Using the sand brown mix that was originally made and added to the filler, I have painted the border and dry brushed the floor with. Once the filler around the pipes is dried then I'll dry brush the wall."

It looks so great up against his first completed mini-door dio!

I really like this one I won't lie as the Mandalorian is my favorite thing about SW right now. I am also glad to be able to report he has already added a new diorama that will go on the side of this, kind of like a connect a dio!

I am still amazed at Mauldalorian's build!
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, April 24 2020

His 6" Scale Clone Wars Finale Bo-Katan is just amazing. This morning I want to just showcase how great the sculpting is on this figure by focusing on the face.

Hasbro has this great new 3D Rendering Technology that supposedly lets you get great realism, but tell me they could get Bo's Facial Sculpt this good if they make one (and man I hope they do aftering seeing Mauldalorian's!).

RCW Creations shares final images on three of his dioramas...

The goal is to display a majority of my figures and vehicles in one giant modular display. The Spaceport will be based on my fictitious world of Galgrebaa, during the Imperial Era. However I will incorporate figures from other eras and universes that I think are cool."

RCW Creations already starts a new diorama!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, April 22 2020

"While working out what to do for the final two pieces for my 8 piece commission. I thought I'd do something small Star Wars based display piece.

After watching The Mandalorion I wanted to base it off the series. Either the spaceport from the first couple of episodes or the desert planet Arvala-7/Tatooine.

The measurements are 9? x 6? x 6?. The back wall, base and wall braces are made from foam board using a piece of 10mm and 6mm glued together. The wall I have added another piece of 6mm to frame around the door. The door is made from two pieces of 2mm bolsa wood, the top pieces I have cut rectangle shapes, sanded them down and glued the two layers together.

There is some great new stuff coming out for the anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back (my favorite movie). I am also running out of collection space (I know build more right!), but I just did a quick comparison of the new Slave One coming out with the older Amazon Exclusive Version we got however many years ago.

So, after seeing the comparison, do you feel a new purchase is warranted? Is there just enough difference to justify it? These are the perplexing questions occupying my thoughts this morning and I thought who better to help me than the Yarders!

-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, April 16 2020
"So Dad was much better at posting on the forums than I am. In fact, I have been absolutely terrible about it. We have done quite a lot of custom action figures since our last post here. I will even have a few more to post up this weekend. Anyhow, here is what we have been up to."

Folks, trust me when I say this is one massive update. I was stoked to hear they had created some molds of some of the impressive casting this dynamic duo had done for the Jedi Younglings. The ones you see above are the second iterations of this great group. Trust me, you won't regret persuing their customs thread.

Darth More does a nice job customizing up a Snail Tank!
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, April 15 2020
"NR-N99 Droid Enforcer - modified and repainted - Version 2

"The NR-N99 Persuader-class droid enforcer, colloquially known as the Corporate Alliance tank droid, CAD and the snail tank, was a tank droid constructed by the Corporate Alliance at first to silence its opposers and later to combat the Grand Army of the Republic."

Hasbro released the Corporate Alliance Tank in their Clone Wars Line in 2009. I had been hoping for a debut of this vehicle since I watched Episode III for the first time.
This version of the NR-N99 appeared in the Clone Wars Series in different colors, but I expected Hasbro to release a repaint of this tank in the following years."

Darth More just creates what he wants and really shares some great fixes he made out of trash parts. Make sure you scroll around and see the entire operation. Philipp is one very thorough customizer!

Chuckles uses his COVID19 Time wisely...
-- Posted by Tamer on Wednesday, April 15 2020
"Some days this whole work from home thing is so nice (Tamered down version).

New custom figure! Trinto Duaba legs and belt, Wioslea upper body and arms, Ree-Yees hands and head. And I used Vilmarh Grahrk glove cuffs to lengthen the arms, and keep the Ree-Yees hands articulation. Don't remember where the soft goods skirt came from."

Darth More adds to his Battlefront Project...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, April 14 2020

"Tactical Rescue Commando
--- TRC ---

All these fan-made addons and mods for Pandemic's original Battlefront II avaiable for free in some forums added so much to the variety and gaming experience of this already epic title. If I could program those features myself I would design a Trooper that Looks like this."

JDeck shares a new custom figure...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, April 14 2020
"Here is another Galgrebian citizen. Fleezum N. Cheatem was a Ranat junk dealer on Galgrebaa during the Imperial Era. His junk business was mostly just a front for his more lucrative Black Market. He would buy and sell anything, Spice, weapons, stolen goods, speeders ships, whatever anyone would ever want."

Clonehead customizes up some Arcade Riser Boxes...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, April 14 2020
"Since the only thing made by these guys more rare and hard to find than a centipede machine is the riser boxes that raise the cabinet by a foot, I bought some 1/2 inch MDF this weekend and built a couple. Some paint and some stickers and they will be fine."

Man, I just want to go to Clint's house and play for an afternoon. I am so so so tempted to start down this path myself.

RCW Creations shares a new diorama update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, April 12 2020
"The back wall I built up the wall using a combination of 6 mm and 10 mm.

I think this is moving away from being a cargo bay to corridor on a spaceship. I might need to cut an inch off each bulkhead?"

It looks pretty awesome to me!

Chuckles adds to his Dio Shelf...

His shelf is gonna be spectacular when finished. Great update.

Darth More shares a custom figure update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, April 12 2020

"Blue Snaggletooth (Modern Version - complete repaint)

With yesterday's reveal of the Cardback for the TVC Power Droid I thought I'd make a surprise for you guys here. I have no idea about original Kenner figures, but recently I came across Snaggletooth from the Vintage Collection 3-Pack for quite cheap! I got my first one from tunghori for $16.99. Found the second one on ebay last week for 4,25€."

It is a great custom!

ARC Trooper Hot Spot

Clone Medic First Aid

Clone Scout Groove

Clone trooper Blades
"

I just really enjoy cross-overs. What a great idea! I hope he makes some of these as action figure customs!

Padawan Painter is back!
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, April 11 2020

"Well, I haven't post on these forums in a long time! Got busy with life. Anyway, along with posting on my Instagram, and possibly allowing my wife to start selling off pieces to make room on my shelf, I'm going to try posting here again.

This is one I finished probably a month ago? Anyway, sometimes I create a backstory for pieces. This is what I came up with:

"Galactic Marine of the 21st Nova Corps, several months Order 66. This particular Marine previously received airborne training at Republic military facilities on Corulag. He has upgraded his helmet with advanced optics and comms for scouting operations."

It is great to see him back and with another excellent mini-diorama to go with his custom figure too!

JDeck shares two new customs...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, April 11 2020
"I'm shifting focus from imperials to citizens. I found myself only buying imperial figures because the others didn't fit in my collection. So I have an idea how I can incorporate Rebels imperials and random figures on one display.

Eskar-Goh was an Ithorian freighter pilot stationed on Galgrebaa during the imperial era. He ran a lawful business, in fact he refused services to Rebels or Rebel sympathizers, because he viewed them as criminals. He was an exceptional pilot having never lost a client's cargo to pirates. Eskar had a protocol Droid named AP-1D , who was his interpreter, copilot, navigator and inventory Droid."

Nice JDeck, very nice!

Darth Anton shows how to make a great Imperial Medic...

Just great stuff folks!

Gentle Giant sends word on new mini-bust...
-- Posted by Tamer on Saturday, April 11 2020

"The Ahsoka’s 332nd Clone Trooper mini-bust is based on the armor of the new season’s 332nd Battalion, who have sworn allegiance to Ahsoka Tano by painting her markings onto their helmets. This 1/6 scale, approximately 7-inch bust features that orange helmet pattern, with the blue body markings of the 501st Legion, and includes multiple interchangeable limbs, with a variety of blasters and pointing hands."

Seems pretty awesome to me.

Chuckles shares a great Chef Custom...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, April 10 2020
"Jabba's chef needed a sous chef. (Simple custom, but effective.)"

I would agree. And he looks so at place in his day to day job.

Mauldalorian is doing some Autobot Themed Troopers...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, April 9 2020

"With all this spare time, I wondered what Autobot Prowl’s color scheme would look like on a clone trooper?

The idea came to me via Clone Commanders Doom and Thorn based off of Dr. Doom and Thor

I started off with designing Prowl as the Clone Commander

Then I felt he needed his own corps"

RCW Creations starts a new Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Thursday, April 9 2020

"Since buying Disney+ I have been watching a lot of Star Wars which has reignited my love love for this. Its where the inspiration for the Mos Eisley spaceport diorama I built for InspirEd Workshops came from.

This piece will be The Ghost cargo bay from the series Star Wars Rebels. While I am building this, I am building a commissioned pieced for InspirEd, which I am covering in a separate post."

I am looking forward to both of these builds!

Thanks for your patience.

RCW Creations finishes up his Tatooine Dio...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, April 7 2020

"Unfortunately it's given it a shine and lost some of the dry brushing I had done to it. I've included a few pictures of what the floor looked like before I added the varnish.

This has inspired me to make my own Mos Eisley set and many more Star Wars sets.

Usual finished pictures to follow."

This just turned out great folks.

Chuckles shares a new custom droid...
-- Posted by Tamer on Tuesday, April 7 2020

"I got a couple spare parts over the weekend, but didn't have the correct legs so I used what I had, a little paint, and a random greeble antenna to make this easy-custom droid.

Also included side-by-side pics of the original so the uninitiated could get a better sense of how little the paint apps were."

Wow, I would loose what eyesight I have left painting that small. Great work Chuckles!

Chuckles shares a new custom Ewok...
-- Posted by Tamer on Monday, April 6 2020
"Made a new murder bear!

I love the Winnie the Poo inspired color, but dirty and maybe a little evil. And I had an extra headdress from a Mola Ram figure that I used for another custom, so evil priest ewok makes sense to me."

How cool is that!

Darth More updates us on his latest projects...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, April 5 2020
"Started painting the Commandos. Found some perfect shades in Citadel’s assortment. Still have to mix some. Also continued painting the next NR-N99 tank droid as I painted the RC’s visor in the same metal color.

I had to clean a 4,300 square feet parking lot yesterday. That took me 7 hours and also kept me from painting. So here are just a couple quick w.i.p.s:

Have a nice Sunday everyone. I’m glad the forum is accessible, again. Thanks for your support, Tamer!"

You are quite welcome Philipp. It was an interseting Saturday too. I would have rather been helping clear a parking lot. Still, some great new work by Darth More!

RCW Creations updates us on his Tatooine Diorama...
-- Posted by Tamer on Sunday, April 5 2020
"The pipes and other wall accessories where painted with GW Leadbelcher, shaded with Nuln Oil and dry brushed with Necron Compound.

Using the Tan acrylic mix I painted the inside of porch and dry brushed the wall, braces and porch with it.

Just a couple of finishing touches to be done and then this piece will be finished."

Talk about looking awesome!

Clonehead creates some new parts!

Darth More is prepping some Custom Republic Commandos!
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, April 3 2020
"I just fixed the shoulder joints of the 3 RCs. I used some plastic glue that also solved the paint and part of the plastic. If I could apply the regular (solvent free) all purpose glue this precisely, it’d be the perfect solution. I kept rotating the arms once in a while. And now the figures can hold their arms, again!

I also covered all parts that I don’t want to paint with wax. Clay also works fine. I think Grievous’ eyes look just fine. I cannot paint them better myself."

Click through to see his latest plans for a heavily damage and now reconstructed RC Squad. Anyone remember the Million Dollar Man? I kinda have that theme song stuck in my head now. Darth More is fixing up his perfect squad!

RCW Creations shares a diorama update...
-- Posted by Tamer on Friday, April 3 2020
"While trying to decide which way to go with the walls, I also wanted to break away from making another obvious box diorama. I located and printed a picture of Mos Eisley. Under present Corvid19 lock down I only have access to my own A4 printer. To hide the edges of the paper, I’ve cut out an archway. This now creates depth to this piece.

When I’ve decided which way to go with the walls, I’ll glue the picture to the foam using spray adhesive, then coat the picture with a layer of matt varnish before coating the walls."

Wow, talk about adding a lot of detail with one print and application. It is really taking shape!

Here is a fun quick figure, a Rebel Assassin based on Taxi Driver. Basically he's a Starkiller Han repaint and Joe Colton head with sculpted hair and goggles. I'm not thrilled with the goggles but the Joe Colton looked too much like Bruce Willis."

I could so see this custom figure fitting in so many AF Verses.
