"This was almost a 100% sculpted action figure build that used the body of a Vintage Collection Aayla Secura that was sanded down to produce framing to be sculpted onto and the head of the 3.75" Black Series Ahsoka Tano that was also sanded away to make room for the new sculpt. Most of the head of the Ahsoka was removed completely before being sculpted onto. In the end both figures became skeletons used only for their joints."

"Sanding the discs into pegs is actually pretty easy with hobby sanding sticks. These aren't the exact style I use but you get the idea. 150-180 grit makes short work of the plastic.

Just to explain the process a bit better, I found a pic from an earlier custom showing the disc sanding in progress. Sand until the new "pegs" are about the same as the originals, and then clean up with fine grit paper."

"A few quick and easy Jedi customs:

First is a slightly upgraded TLC/Saga Legends Saesee Tiin. I replaced the original swivel elbows with the arms from a TAC comic pack Obi-Wan.

Next is an Aqualish, using a TVC Kit Fisto body and the head/hands from a BS Ponda Baba. Threw in a TVC Qui-Gon robe and sabers from the fodder bin.

Last is an Imzig, using a TAC Secret Apprentice Jedi Galen Marek base. I replaced the swivel elbows with the arms from a TLC padawan Obi-Wan."

"I've added decals to the walls, cables to the junction which run up and across the wall to another junction box. I have added door handles to the left building door and then weathered the door. Each of the dock doors was given a switch and a cable running to the top of each door. I have dry brushed over the potholes on the floor."

"Here's my work-in-progress Mandalorian Bounty Hunter character, Maysh Fel, from the SWTOR game. Painted the eyes, brows, and lips. Sculpted the hair and chest armor. It's my first time sculpting armor. This has been really fun so far! Hope you like it!

I'll definitely be posting more pictures as I make progress on this."

"I have used a black wash over the light grey building and over the silver-painted corrugated. I used a brown wash over the corrugated roof and over certain bricks, I used the brown wash on the raised dock platform, brick walls and the steps. Finally, I dry brushed silver over the manhole cover and applied a dark wash into recesses on the floor.

The next steps are to apply the brown wash over the red walls, repair the window frame which was damaged while painting today, paint the window frames and door."

This is really looking stellar.

"After I marked out the base I applied a black undercoat to all pieces. Once that dried I sponged on the first coat of light grey onto the floor and a darker grey over the right building and steps. I am thinking of painting the rest of the stonework brown/red."

"I haven't made a figure in a while. This started to be a self portrait figure, but he doesn't look like me lol. I just took the Bespin Han and added hair and a beard usung green stuff. Then I added the scarf which was a piece of an old shirt. His cigarette is a piece of styrene rod. Of course the goggles came with the figure. I dry brushed the jacket with a lighter blue, for something close to a jean jacket."

"Hey Yarders

Here’s my 3D Loje Nella build. It’s not finished, but I couldn’t wait to show these WIPs.

I have given up on free hand sculpting. 1/18th is just too small, and I need to wear magnifiers that destroy my depth perception. Don’t get me started on sculpting media work time. It was all too frustrating.

My GF got me a resin 3D printer for my birthday, and I love it. Thank you Cal for talking me through my baby steps.

I’ve printed a few things, but I decided to try Forger for iPad. It’s only ten bucks, which is much more reasonable than Z-brush.

Anyway, I decided to start with something relatively simple, Loje Nella. He’s another blink and you miss him character from Jabba’s palace."

"I finished weathering the brickwork and added a corrugated roof to the centre wall. I have also cut a foam base to which I need to add a manhole cover, cracks in the concrete etc. I also need to add a door and window frames to the left building, before I can start painting."

"Hi All,

Ghostbusters 1:12.

Recipe.

Figures/ghost - the GB's are from Hasbro and the ghost is a dinosaur skeleton which I took the back legs off and covered it with PVA glue mixed with green paint. The plasma streams are just wire repainted and can be removed to display the figures without them as with the ghost it can also be removed.

The diorama is made using foam and I carved the brick work and pavement using a sharp pencil, the fire booster was made using dowel, plastic parts form the parts bin. The lights work and are just book lights and the safety poles are dowel and the roller door is corrugated cardboard, I painted and weathered the dio using Vallejo Paints and pastel chalks.

The rubbish bins were made using cardboard tube and corrugated cardboard and plastic rod for the handles.

"Hi All,

The Search Bookends 1:12 scale, this was a commission for a friend.
Recipe.

Troopers - are form Hasbro and I just covered and fill in the joints and then painted and weathered them using Vallejo Paints and pastel chalks, the comms pack is a Snowtrooper back pack with wire for aerials.

C-3PO is from Bandai and was built straight out of the box and he was weathered using GW Agrax Eartheshade and pastel chalks.

Base - was made using foam for the base and then I used a mix of spakfilla and sand and applied it to the base and once dry I painted the mix with Vallejo's Iraqi Sand.

Here are the final pics of the DS Book Nook dio.

The base is made using foam board and balsa wood and I used clear contact for the floor and lights and the actual light are small LED's. The walls are 3D printed by a mate of mine and they were painted and glued onto the sides of the nook.

"I woke up at 4:30 this morning and carried on for a couple of hours (boy is today going to be a long day!)

The two buildings have been glued together and the bricks weathered. The door frame on the left of the building has been widened and roofs added to both of them.

The next steps are to weather the other walls and maybe adding a corrugated roof to the central wall and work on the floor."

It is sure looking nice.

"Today I scored the bricks on both buildings, adding doors and windows into the left of e and cut out what will be a closed Dock door into the second. Created a raised platform to surround the front of the right building. The next step is to create an inside wall for the left building and roofs for both of them before working out the floor."

"I then marked and scored out the brickwork on the three other pieces, modelled before you with Deadpool, who as you can see was having a little too much fun! The centre wall I have cut out a doorway. When the other two pieces have dried I will score the brickwork and cut out the doors and windows. When the overall structure is worked out, then I will start making the floor."

"Today I've started a new diorama and again it's going to be another "small" piece. This piece will be a loading area at a warehouse, it's scaled for 6" figures and to model for me this evening will be Marvels Logan and Deadpool. I have cut the foam to make the basic shape, I am now cutting the extra layers for the walls and glueing them together. The next step is to do the same for the two buildings and marking out the brickwork."

You can already see the great potential in this.

"Next, a little work on Leia. Hasbro has done a better job with the braids/bun on previous figures. I transplanted the Saga Bespin Gown Leia braids onto the new Vintage Collection head. It feels a little more substantial."

"Back in September JohnnyStarWars shared his idea to modify VC86 Darth Maul on his YouTube Channel.

In my opinion he is on the way to make this figure the definitive version of the character - especially with the latest photo-real update. He replaced the softgoods skirt with the vinyl skirt of the 5POA Darth Maul of the SOLO toy line and also used some of the updated accessories.

Two weeks ago I was finally able to make his custom Darth Maul myself and I tried my best to take some more detailed pictures of the process. And I'm really impressed by how much the level of detail has developed since 2012.

Eternal Alliance Heavy Skytrooper

Skytroopers were the symbol of the Zakuulan Eternal Empire in the Old Republic era. Co-opted by the Alliance, these droids could be seen guarding Alliance bases on planets like Iokath."
