"So here's the issue I am having with the free 3d files I'm finding of most helmets and armors: Because they are made as full scale cosplay pieces, when they are scaled down to 1/12th scale they become so thin they don't print correctly... In addition to this, MOST files are for helmets that do not have the visors in place, because to be a wearable helmet you want that to be blank so you can attach a visor in later."

"I don't know if I shared the little ball light that I used on the security droid, but here is the light source that sits in the magnetized treads:
I've been doing a little experimenting with foam insulation board. I extended the Lars Homestead playset by creating a cover that slips over the base. The texture was achieved with cornmeal mixed into acrylic paint.
I've added a few figures as well...
One of the last things I worked on with our dear friend, Stan was Aunt Beru (I contributed the soft goods for the figures we put together).
I also started experimenting with watercolor pencils (they were used for Luke's facial injury, not the YouTube backdrop).
and an R3 that I used the pencils to do some cleanup on my poor attempt at repainting. He cleaned up fairly well though.

Triple Zero is a B.A.D. repaint that will eventually have swappable hands.
Zuckuss repaint and soft goods upgrade (re-did my old one and created soft goods for a commission)
and a not so simple Leia headswap...
trimmed softgoods, new head with sculpted earrings and hair from POTF2 Leia, new chain and collar and full costume repaint."

3d printed belt buckle and lightsaber clip. I put a piece of plumbing wire through the cloak to hold the lightsaber hilt"

"I have finished painting this piece all that is left to do is add a couple of accessories and then this piece will be completed.
What I did to complete the painting was with the walls, I added a black wash to all grey bricks and ledge, when it was dry I dry brushed a light grey over it. The three unpainted areas were painted with a dark grey, which was then lighted with a lighter grey, sponged over the top. I finished off by sponging on a muddy brown wash over the areas of the model and blended them."
It is really turning out nice!

We have been having a discussion after each new episode of the Bad Batch (warning spoilers apply here) and are coming to a general consensus that the show seems to be moving away from our squad.
What do you think? Are you ok with Omega being the main focus of the show? Do you think Bad Batch needs to have the first part of their name changed (as in removing Bad becuase they don't seem tough anymore)? Maybe it should be I hope I get myself out of trouble again Batch?

"Now the 6-week trial I was a juror for has finally concluded, I have taken today off to unwind and catch up with this piece.
Last weekend I undercoated it with black poster paint, it's cheap and wanted to see how it would work as an undercoat. Yesterday after coming home, I sponged on a deep red/brown mix over all of the brickwork and left it to dry overnight. This morning I used a muddy brown wash over areas of the brickwork and selected bricks. After it dried I painted some fresh mortar around some of the bricks and then dry brushed a paler brown over the brickwork. Once dry, I have then painted the cornerstones and ledge with a light grey."
Looks pretty awesome to me!

Black base, some more gloss black, then acrylic black for his neck mesh, and some more gloss black, and I think I added another layer of black?
Used Molotow Chrome Silver for the joints, white paint for red LEDs and clear red on top!"

"I've completed the brickwork on the small building and added a roof, once it is painted I'll add an electrical box to the side. To finish I have added a smaller (what will be an air duct/chimney), again free standing for my client to a place where he wants. I ran out of time last night to add brickwork to it, this will be quickly sorted before I undercoat the piece."
His rooftop dio has really come along nicely.

"Hi All,
The Phantom, Devil and Hero.
Recipe.
Figures - The Phantom is from Neca and I picked up a body suit from GPSlot on Ebay and I picked up a light grey body suit and dyed it purple and then dry brushed it with a lighter purple to bring out the muscles. Devil is a 3D print my mate printed for me and Hero is from Breyer and was brown and I painted it white and then washed it with greys and then dry brushed it with white. The saddle and reins are also from Breyer and I had to cut the reins to fit on the horse.
Base - is the one I used for my The Last Phantom figure as I didn't have time to make one for these figures.

"Finished my ATST conversion, lots of small increments and efforts were put on this one. I'm really happy how it turned out as I'm aiming to replicate the movie model as best as I can. It's not 100% movie accurate, but it's satisfying."

"I recognized just today that the artist is located in Greece and not in the U.S. I supposed he was because the prices are in USD. And the Bespin Diorama sold after you shared it on the frontpage, but he sold 6 of them in total, so it isn't a one of a kind. Today he even relisted it, which makes sense to me if he's a professional model builder who makes a living with these.
The most amazing thing to me is though, that the Bespin one isn't even the most impressive one of him! You can take a look at his other projects here:

"Held off on sharing these minor repaints but seeing the new upcoming Rogue One wave, nows a good of time as any!
Repainted Director Krennic, and used the leftover decals from the bandai 1/12 Shoretrooper kit on a Archive Series Shoretrooper to make the Captain. Painted in the spots that the decals couldn't wrap over.
Repainted layers of Khaki/Bone for the armor
Really love how it turned out!"

Drybrushed a few different layers of brown and washed the panel lines here and there

"For the past 3 weeks, I have been on jury service with another 2 weeks still to go! Because of that, I have not been in the right frame of mind to build and wanted to be near my family (not a fun trial!) Today I broke that mindset and started up on my latest commission piece. I've been asked to build a rooftop to fit a deltof.
This morning before leaving for court I cut the four side pieces (2 14" x 6" & 2 12" x 6") with another four to which were glued onto the first four. When I returned this evening, I cut notches into the two larger walls, added magnetic tape, and added the side pieces. Notches were cut into the inner pieces and a roof piece cut giving me the basic shape to work on.
The next steps are to build a ledger running around the top before starting on the brickwork."
We wish him luck with his jury duty and his new dio!

"I've been really liking Bad Batch so far and I had to go ahead and get the Hunter and crosshair figures in the black series line (I've got tech and wrecker on pre-order)... but I realized that Hunter is essentially a republic commando body (duh, they are special clone commando force!) and I've had it in my brain to do a 6" scale republic commando ever since getting the hunter figure. So, I got lucky and found a second one at Gamestop and started getting to work."

"Hi All,
Commissioned Boba Fett 1:6 scale resin statue.
Recipe - the figure and base were printed in resin from a mate and I painted and weathered it using Vallejo Paints and Pastel chalks. the flames were done using Woodland Scenics Water Effects and spreading over a piece of non stick cooking paper and once dry I peeled it off and painted the smooth side with red, yellow and orange and then wrapped it around the existing flames which were just vertical lines.
The smoke was done using cotton balls and then ripping them apart and applying them to the base and then I used Rust-oluem Matt Black and Light Grey to make the smoke colours.

Picture Frame Display Diorama
It's finally here: My first attempt to recreate the botany of Felucia. The display stands I found on ebay recently inspired me to combine them with a picture frame.
Work-in-progress:
So I decided to incorporate one of these action stands into my next diorama. My first Felucia test diorama was on my list for years now and a modified & repainted BARC Speeder is planned to follow as well. And coincidentally the arms of the displays I got recently fit some Class I vehicles perfectly.

Today when I checked my recent orders the TVC AT-ST "Raider" was shown to me on Amazon.de - and to my total surprise, it's available to pre-order here in Germany from Amazon UK!
Before I moved it to my cart, I checked Amazon UK and USA for availability - sold out. The GBP is still stronger than the EUR and even the USD so it makes no sense to me that Amazon only sell this one here in Germany. Not even in France or Spain...Germany seems to be a strong market for Amazon - definitely the strongest market in continental Europe."
