"Real quick custom. "Twi'lek Alliance Commando."
This came about while sorting through extra figures and the tails of an Ayy Vida figure just popped right off in my hand with no effort.
So I had to think what would be a cool head that could make a good twi'lek. So many purple twi'leks in fan art, but none in figure form, so I dremmeled off the hair and ears of a Resistance figure.
And then I sorted through the fodder to see what neck she'd fit. I have very little left in terms of usable fodder after a productive month, but I always wanted to do something with the Deena Shan "commando" body and it was a perfect fit."
She looks awesome.

"I've added a platform where a Canon can be mounted and a viewing balcony demonstrated here by Grand Admiral Thrawn.
I have added a layer of 6mm foam board to the inside of the front wall, not only to strengthen but also a guide for the first floor to sit in between."

"I finished painting the fuel tank. I mixed up some brown and red to make a hull red, similar to the A-wing color. Then painted white, and washed it away. Then gave it a black wash. I added a couple of Texaco decals. In hindsight I should have added them before I washed out the white, but meh it's a background piece."
I think it looks awesome!

"I got another tabletop gaming staple today, that will work great for 3.75. Tube blocks. They're plastic tubes made for toddlers. You can connect them and make plumbing, apparently kids like it. They have a few different connectors, straight, elbow, X, and T, along with horns and wheels. The set I got is 136 pcs for $20.
Painted up they would be really cool in a Star Wars Dio or an industrial scene."

"I've been asked to build a Star Wars diorama for a friend's son to display his 3.75" figures on. So I'm building him an Imperial Bunker because nothing is better than the Rebels infiltrating an Imperial compound!
It's will be 16" high, two levels plus a rooftop landing platform. Garage and side door entrance and has to be ready in two weeks! I like challenge!
So far I've cut variation of 14" high lengths, widths of 6", 4" & 3", cutting out doors and windows. Then gluing this all together as one piece."
You can tell this one is gonna be fun!

"Super Heavy Infantry Mandalorian
Using the heavy infantry mando as a base I added a few bits and pieces to his armor and swapped the head with a modified Jango helmet cast. The boots are pieces from the Solo range trooper (I figured they made sense as a mechanism to balance him while using the BFG). I added an Iron man rocket launcher to the jetpack, it looks like a perfect fit to me tbh.
The gun is an old missile launcher from the 25th gi-joe line with the gun barrels from some random fodder bin piece.
Bigger is always better..."

"Hi All,
Ghostbusters Toon Ecto 1.
Recipe.
Ecto 1 - is from a company called Titan Merchandise and is a vinyl toy which is around 4.5" long. The vinyl toy is nice but it needed a paint redo to it which was painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints and then I used a gloss varnish for the windows and lights. (Note-the last picture is what it looks like out of the box before painting)
Base - is high density foam and the arch way was cut out and I made doors using balsa wood and the windows are square plastic card section. I got the GB sign of the net and resized it and then glued it to some plastic and the rod holding it to the building is a piece of paperclip I cut to size.
The newspapers and the Ecto 1 number plate on the front of the base were also of the net and resized and glued into place."

Ruhr Trooper Cosplay makes an Ion Torpedo Launcher!

"I built an ion torpedo launcher from Battlefront and Clone Wars. It is almost 155 cm long and weighs almost 8 kg.
Installed in the launcher is a Raspberry PI, two powerful batteries, almost 50 LEDs, a 15w sound system and two fog machines.
The ion torpedo launcher consists of 3D printed parts and various plastic tubes, aluminum strips and plates.
The complete construction time including programming was about 200 hours.
My next project is a Z-6 Rotation Blaster and a complete lifesize "Fives"

"I've been working on and off on a supply Depot. Just collecting crates and cannisters and things like that.
Today I built an old Tibanna gas cylinder from a mining platform. It leaks, so they just keep it in the depot. It's made from a TUMS bottle and model kit parts. I made a weld effect on the end caps using wood glue, then painted and weathered."
I am really enjoying his space port. It would be awesome for Hasbro to come out with a realy playset like this.

"The base coats of the cabin walls are now finished, I've used a dark brown for the interior floor, nut brown for the porch floor and one of the doors.

Composition: He's resin with some little fabric bits.
Process: This began a month or two ago. I found a few .stl files of the character but wasn't satisfied with any of them. This crumb is the product of four designs spliced together with a few additional touches. There are a couple other heads as well, but I only had the energy to paint this one tonight. His arms, head(s), and tail are articulated using hot glue, although I am also trialing a ProCreate socket. I also finally picked up a new set of paintbrushes (~$20, nothing too fancy) since the ones I've been using were becoming awfully ratty. They are performing their duty so far."
Talk about being thorough when it comes to customizing. And remember this is him 3D Printing!

"I've added a chimney breast using three 10 mm strips glued together, then scoring in bricks. I've also marked out 1" thick slats running the length of the roof. Just need to score these and then it's off to do the doors and windows."

"Last night I got the graphics upgrade set added to the Space Invaders machine. Another of seller gulfcoastdecals sets, this one includes yellow pinstripe material to use on the riser box exposed edges to match the factory paint on the cab edge. There was plenty of stripe material left over and I applied some on the black upper and lower frame of that aftermarket lighted marquee I had installed some time back. A Bit chunky but definitely better. I also added the remote sensor to the marquee so you can leave the unit plugged in and use the remote to turn the marquee on and off."

"So sorry for the delay, busy times.
So it must have become obvious by now that
the $50 final fight was to get a facelift become a custom Tempest cab. I had purchased a used 6 in one PCB and swapped it out with the old pcb.
I did get the rest of the graphics set in and I had an extra clear deck protector to boot. My spare 6 in one control deck came in so it went on Asteroids deluxe and the control deck with the arcade spinner mod got the Tempest control deck graphic. I ended up just taping the decal with backing onto the deck protector and used an exacto knife to trim the button and switch holes with. I figure rather than trying to stick the decal down, I can just leave it unloose under the deck protector, safely screwed in place."

"With the floor completed, it was time to bite the bullet and make the roof.
Cutting two pieces 23" x 5.5" which gives 1.5" over hang on both sides and two smaller pieces which fitted inside the frame of the cabin. The roof pieces where glued onto them with PVA glue, when the pieces are dry I'll score the detail onto them.
The last piece to make before making the doors and windows is the stone chimney."
He is really making fast progress on this!

"Just a couple of quick customs.
First is an Ugnaught spacer named "Short Run". "Short Run" is an efficient pilot, he often underbids his competition and always delivers on time. The other pilots hate him, but he doesn't care. He makes it clear he's not looking to make friends.
Second is "Bandit" a Star Wars version of Bandit from Smokey and the Bandit. Bandit is the wingman for his partner "Snowman". Bandit draws the Empire's attention, while Snowman gets away with the goods."

"I've been commissioned to create a log cabin for the new 6" G.I.JOE Classifieds series based on the classic 80's comic.
The specifications I've been given are 30" x 15" x 15", it is to be made from foam board and designed to be flat packed. I have been asked to do both exterior and interior.
Unfortunately I do not own a 6" Snake Eyes, to help model the construction of this set will be Arnold."

These Marvel Fans are not messing around. Now they will be able to get two alternate head scuplts. Looks like the next tier unlocks at 9,000 backers! I look for the fans to have that done by the end of the morning!

This build marks a few more firsts for me. Bo's armor and accessories are once again composed almost entirely of 3D resin printed pieces. While most have been scaled down from full-sized armor files and edited extensively to fit, this time I built some of the designs entirely on my own! The 3D printer has really been a blast so far, and I'm excited to continue using resin prints going forward. Someday I'll share my thoughts on and experiences with operating a printer for a couple months in a separate thread."
Folks that is just the start of the great recipe and description of his process. Talk about getting started 3D Printing the right way. Notice all the cool accesories he printed for her! This is just so cool folks. I don't know how to express its awesomeness!

"This pair of figures include a new one (the Mandalorian) and a previously posted one (the Jedi) about 3 years ago.
Mal'kar was a Mandalorian general 3475 years before the battle of Yavin. As one of the best leaders Mandalore had, he was tasked with the major push in expanding the Mandalorian Empire coreward. Campaign after campaign, he was unstoppable. As his forces were mounting their attack on Shaldrin IV, a lone small shuttle approached them. The only occupant identified himself as Hin Nisan, a Jedi. Nisan challenged Mal'kar to combat. Not very Jedi, which intrigued Mal'kar. Mal'kar accepted the challenge and the two combatants met on the Kadilero Mountain Range near the equator of Shaldrin IV."

Have you ever heard the story of Darth Plagueis the Wise?
Okay, so I took a lot of creative liberties with this one. I can't stand the Muun species. They're just goofy looking and I know Plagueis is a Muun. I went to google images for my inspiration. I poured over many different EU photos, Comic incarnations, and fan based art work to come up with something that satisfied me. He's still a Muun... just from the southern region of their home world. I imagine he has kind of a hick accent too. ;D No, just kidding. "Hey Darth Sidious! Why don't y'all come on over to the camp this weekend fer some vittles and a training lesson."
Anyhoo... here he is Darth Plagueis. The mask is removable and he's 6" Black Series."

"After doing some final touches, like door scrapping marks on the floor and a little more dry brush work, I varnished the piece marking its completion.
Final pictures of last of an eight animation diorama commission are now done."

"Range Trooper 2.0
I liked my modified at-at driver using the range-trooper gear so much I wanted to do a snowtrooper version. Thanks to finding a snowtrooper at an antique/collectibles store and a 17.00 rangetrooper from amazon I was able to do that today.
Getting the snowtrooper apart was a challenge. The kama, belt, and pouches were glued in...
I also had to trim down the rangetrooper kama. I did so by slicing it down the seam on each side, trimming away excess, and then gluing it back together once it was small enough to fit around the snowtrooper's smaller waist. I also added the belt of a regular stormtrooper with holster."

"Hi All,
World War Toon - Panther Tank.
Recipe.
Panther and Figure - the Panther is from Meng and was built straight out of the box and the figure is from Yufan Models. I used electrical wire for the head set and speaker cords and both the tank and figure were painted using Vallejo Paints.
Base - is high density foam and the ground work is spakfilla and once dry it was painted and weathered. The fence was done using balsa wood and the grass tufts are from Army Painter and the lower shrubs and the taller bushes are from Woodland Scenics."

"While that was drying cut and carved a piece of 6 mm foam to be a double door. This and the corrugated card where painted metallic grey. The edges of the door where then painted with a metallic blue and washed with over with a black solution. Both the doors have been glued into place.
Mixing a dirty brown wash, I have washed over the floor and walls to age this piece.
With the bulk of the painting done, time to start with some decals."
It is looking pretty nice to me!

For first time we present to you new tusken weapons in 3.75 design by a Chris and Izzy Mel. Big thanks to AJ , Kai, Chad, Ivo and Travis for support In this project."

I started a thread awhile back after seeing such cool projects 3D Printed all over the web. We have gone back and forth, but its seems seeing is believing!

"A couple of Rebel spooks:
Findar Leemas was a member of the Sembla Resistance whose father had fought alongside the Grand Army of Republic during the Clone Wars. On a scouting mission, Rebel intelligence agents encountered Leemas and immediately saw his potential. They recruited him to Alliance Special Operations. During a recon mission Findar "liberated" the enslaved Nosaurian, Bera Fire-eye from an Imperial installation. Bera has remained a constant companion to his Vurk hero ever since.
I finished the fifth member of the Jedha Phantoms "Team Auresh" - Wegit Yot, an Ugnuaght from Cloud City. He didn't want to fight his best friend to the death in a blood duel for a job. So, he found a spacer who would take him off planet in exchange for working as a technician and mechanic. The arrangement worked reasonably well."

"Hi All,
World War Toons - Tiger Tank.
Recipe
Tiger and Figure - the Tiger is from Meng and was built straight out of the box and Painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints and the figure is from Yufan Models and is a resin kit and was Painted using Vallejo Paints. The figures headset and mouth piece once attached had wire attached using wire from and old electrical cord.
Base - is high density foam and the road and bridge were cut out and attached then I used a pencil and carved out the stones work and cobblestone and then I used a piece of stand stone and tapped it over the foam. The rails were made using plastic rod and tube and the top of the posts are ends of Russian ammo shells, The light pole was also made using plastic tube and plastic card and the bulb is an old fairy light. The foliage is from Army Painter and Ammo Mig and the whole dio was painted and weathered using Vallejo Paints."
Ron always does such great work with whatever he works on!

Composition: VC Mando torso, legs, and boots, JoyToy blank arms, Planet Green Valley hands and rocker ankles. Resin printed armor edited primarily from full sized designs by this incredible digital artist . Leather and stainless steel belt/bandolier/holster with magnetized rifle strap. Resin printed child designed by this incredible digital artist .
Process: Arduous. More info later, perhaps.
Edit: I see I took no photos of the jetpack, because of course I didn't. *sigh*"

"What do you do when you wake up at 4:30 am and can not sleep, I get up and start back on this project
I've added load bearing columns to either side wall along with a bit of brick and floor weathering. I've cut a piece of corrugated card for one of the entrances and now just need to add a set of double doors to opposite side.
With that done then I can start painting!"
Now that is using your time wisely!

"I made another Galgrebian citizen. He's a mashup between Creature from the black lagoon, and Bossk. I've seen this custom before, I think with the Kenner Bossk, but I can't seem to find it. Maybe I dreamt it. Anyway I used the Saga Bossk and Funko Creature.
Captain Gillman is an importer/Exporter of exotic seafoods. Galgrebaa is a mostly aquatic planet, home to many immigrated amphibious species, from planets such as Mon Calamari and Nepotis, creating a demand for foods from their homeworlds. Brackeesh Na-Buzarru being from Nepotis is one of Captain Gillman's largest clients."
