Some Jedi around 3475 years before the Battle of Yavin, still trained with a sword. The lightsaber only came into use in more extreme situations. Others wished to hold onto tradition. Yet, others saw swords and swordsmanship as a lost art. Malrook “Mal” Grep’n was of the latter."
That is just the start of one great custom and backstory.

"Here's a new custom painted BLURRGFACE GONK DROID I've done. I saw some artwork online and liked the look of the old airplane nose art shark mouth style. Once I completed this droid's paint work he reminded me of a Blurrg which is a two legged reptile creature used as beasts of burden and mounts in the Star Wars universe. This custom droid is 1:18 scale for use with other 3.75" action figures.

"Hi All,
The Star Trek starship battle dio I was doing is now completed. I named the dio -Battle at the Delvian Belt.
The custom decals haven't arrived so instead of calling the ship U.S.S. APACHE NCC-1968 I used decals from the Polar Lights Enterprise and Botany Bay kit and called the ship U.S.S. INFERNAL NCC-167.
Just completed another ST dio for the comp this weekend.
Galileo 2 shuttle - is an old AMT kit which I have had for over 20 years and I misplaced all the seats so that is why I blacked the windows and have a figure in the door way.
when I first got this kit my dad re-crafted the rear thrusters so they had more depth to them by using plastic card and card board. The extra greeblies at the back I did using plastic card and the step on the left nacelle is also plastic card. I was going to paint the shuttle completely white but after seeing photo's of other people's shuttle I decided to go with the grey and white two tone color."
Trust me that is just the start of the great description and recipe for these awesome dioramas.

"It's been a while since I posted any custom figures, after the past few that I have done I felt like I needed to practice and master some techniques of painting figures. With the release of the Warhammer 40K: Conquest magazine which every week you get a paint and some miniatures, I thought this would be perfect to try out and master. Now I know this is for custom figures and what I am about to post isn't really customising to what normally goes on here but I am doing it anyway.
Final pictures of my Streetlight diorama are now finally complete (boy has it been a busy couple of weeks with 1 or 2 distractions lol!)"
Well, first off that is customizing and sure is what we do here and your miniature work looks fantastic! I sure know how that works with loosing time too. I really like both updates.

I also dress up the cheaper Hasbro kits for fun just so they don't look so toyish. I customized this AT-ACT as a gift for a friend."

"SAW GERRERA
Here you have a reworked version of Hasbro's 5POA (3,75") Saw Gerrera from the Jedah Revolt battle pack. The figure is pretty much a complete repaint. I tried to bring out all the little details on the medical suit. I also used thin wire and fabric strips to bring more details on the figure.
I used Revell enamel colours. For the weathering I used different washes and pigments.
The display stand is made of nut wood. The symbol of Saw's militia is sprayed with white Tamiya spray paint.
I hope you like it."

"Hi All,
While I'm waiting for the decals to arrive for the Trek dio I showed this week I decided to make a custom Federation ship for the comp.
The ship is a 1:650 scale Enterprise from Polar Lights, I made it into alternate variation of the Kelvin class starship that was is the STAR TREK remake with Chris Pine but did it in TOS design.
The difference is I didn't add the neck section going from the saucer section to the hull. I used the decals that came with the kit and just removed a number to make it NCC-170 and removed letters to make it the U.S.S. STERN.
I sprayed it matte black and then light Grey and once the decals were applied I gave it some weathering using pastel chalks.

"Barada, joins the custom vintage collection 2018!
This was a tough figure to get right, gun holster works which allow you to store his weapon and and has a removable backpack. This figures is about 97 percent hand sculpted. Took about a month to sculpt , mold, and cast. It has 17 points of articulation. I going take a break from the skiff figures ( two left) for a while so I do not get burn out. Next four will be from planet of Yarvin, for on a new hope."
So he is gonna leave the Barge for a bit. I can't imagine how cool his Barge is gonna look!

"Hi All,
Almost on the home stretch on this dio. I have glued the ships in place and just waiting on the decals to arrive so I can add them to the Federation ship.
I also have to add phaser blast coming from the Federation ship hitting the Klingon ship on the top right wing. The damage on the Klingon wing was done using scarp plastic card and cotton wool.
Once I get the above mentioned things done I will post my usual outdoor pics.

"Hi All,
Started a Star Trek dio for the annual model comp coming up in two weeks.
Ships - The ships are from Polar Lights and are 1/1000 scale, I built the Klingon ship straight out of the box and the Federation ship was originally the Enterprise but I have always wanted to convert one so this is my design.
I gave them a prime of matt black and then went over them with Tamiya's Light Grey. The decals are from the kit and I'm just waiting on some custom decals for the Federation ship so I can call it USS APACHE, N.C.C - 1968. I still need to weather them and do some phaser damage to the Klingon ship and finish of the base.

"Lately Elias has been picking up my slack. His latest effort blew me away.
Miraj Scintel was a female Zygerrian who served as the Queen of Zygerria during the Clone Wars.
To make this action figure, I used a Clone Wars Assaj Ventress action figure.
Both the Convor and the hilt of her electro-whip were fabricated by hand and sculpted in ProCreate. The yellow electricity was taken from a Comic Pack Lumiya action figures accessory.

"Yesterday, I went to the biggest of my local Comic Shops. Haven't been there for over a year! But as much as I want to support my local Comic Shop, prices are just nuts there. I don't have the extra money to overpay for action figures. Even the Rogue One 4-Pack with Hovertank Pilot got a 44€ / ~$50.40 USD price tag there...over 50 bucks for four 5 POA figures!!
So I did what one does in a Comic Shop: I bought a comic! And here's what I asked for and they had it:
This is the first of six parts of the Doctor Aphra comic series translated in German."

"Went back to my Church Ruin last night.
The right wall I have built it similar to it's predecessor, using a combination of 10mm and 6mm foam board. I marked out and carved 1" x 1" brick work on this wall. Glued a 1" x 8" pelmet over the door which I will be taking my rotary tool too like, marking out 2 x 0.2" top and bottom border. Taking a sharp knife I removed pieces from the top corners which will be used as rubble to scatter round this piece, damage was applied to the brick work similar to the last piece."

"I wanted to create a more articulated version of the character from this time period.
This 3.75" super-articulated figure is as easy to make as it gets. Just take a Black Series 3.75" ROTJ Chewbacca and give it the bandoleer of the Force Link 2.0 Chewbacca from the Solo toy line. The goggles are from the Target Exclusive Vandor-1 Playset Chewbacca. "When the base coat had dried I went over the paving slabs with a light blue/grey, the curb using a light grey. Taking a fine brush I painted in between each slab and crack with a dark brown. I dry brushed a dark grey over all the cracks, the tarmac at the back and the edges of the curb. Using a thin brush to dab black into all of the cracks, dry brushed black over the tarmac at the back, dry brushed white over each of the paving slabs to complete the base of this piece.
While this was drying I turned my attention onto the lamppost, painting the bottom and the neck join using the light blue grey, then the rest of it with a light brown, with a coat of metallic silver cover it.
When the lamppost is dry I will see how it looks before starting to weather it."

"Here's some Rebels from Return Of The Jedi.
Major Haash'n (Mon Calamari Engineer): I managed to get a few TBS Admiral Ackbars recently at a reasonable price, which is what the head, arms and modified torso are from. Upper legs section from TLC Obi-Wan Padawan, with added pockets cut and modified from the Rebels MS05 2-pack Boba Fett. Lower legs from a Russian Soldier, with custom gaiters. Skirt modified from TVC Naboo Pilot. Ammo packs cut from 2 SW Saga Endor Rebel Soldiers.
Rebel Technicians: I did these a while ago, they are a popular custom, as the Indiana Jones Russian Soldier is already most of the way there. Heads are modified from Indiana Jones German Soldiers. I made the custom headsets from the silver ring you get in the middle of some ballpoint pens; then added a few bits of plastic to it, with the mouthpiece cut from a plastic product tag."

They have sent out a great video link showcasing a few of their processes on creating this new Sail Barge! From an extensive CAD Process to creating over 250 parts to a new process called Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), this update is pretty cool. Like I needed even more reason to get geared up for February!

"Darth Malak is 6 inch scale an is made from a black series kylo ren. Mouth cover is made from thin plastic covered in duct tape and the cape cover is made from a water bottle cap cut down an covered in tape, cape is fabric scrap. Belt piece is also tape painted black."

"Inspired by jodo's design I present sergeant jyn erso in her eadu outfit, jyn is made using parts from the rogue one 5poa figure. I removed the arms on the articulated jyn an slid the vest over then reattached the arms, the head i had to modify to fit the neck peg."
He also has a pretty good looking Mandalorian Bounty Hunter to peruse too.

"Hey all! Ok, finished up the B-Wing project. This one wasn't nearly as involved as the AT-IC or the Tydirium, but did bring some new challenges to learn on.
I think it was towards the beginning of doing these that I did a B-wing, and it's cool to look at what I've learned and how I've gotten better. The original B from back in the day lives with a collector in Greece now. I think this winter I might do another classic TIE..."

"Here's a couple of straightforward head swap figures that I did to make use of POTJ Imperial Officer figures I had taken the heads off for the other custom Imperial Officers I made.
I still really like this sculpt from the POTJ range, despite the lack of articulation.
Death Star Superlaser Operators: Both use POTJ Imperial Officers; one with head and helmet from POTF2 Death Star Trooper, the other with head from POTF2 Imperial Gunner.
Removable Imperial Gunner flak vest made from POTF Sandtrooper pauldron fitted with elastic straps."
I agree, sometimes static is downright nice. These look great.

"The back wall as with the former I etched in 1" x 1" brick work before marking and cutting the top of the wall off as I did before. Like before all the broken pieces will be reused as rubble for the final piece."

I have always wanted a figure of this guy (gal?). This is probably my favorite character design from Rogue One, and I wish we could have seen some more of them in the movie. It is just a shame to me that we didn't get more articulated RO figures, but given we didn't even get all the main characters, I don't think the Partisan Scout ever stood a chance at being produced."

Rally Point Alpha, North Peninsula...
The planets beige white beaches turned more redish orange the closer to the rally point as far as TK-1979 could see. The sands of the northwestern peninsula kicked up dust and dust swirls in the wake of the biker squad unit lead by Major Araed.
The squad raced through the morning and saw the encirclement of vehicles and supplies at Major Gridon's rally point. The unit arrived mid morning and dismounted to refuel and assess the situation. Major Araed hopped off of her speeder bike as soon as it was in line with the rest at the refueling containers. TK-1979 Corporal Zaym dismounted as well like the rest of the biker unit. A few gray jump suit wearing technicians came over and started hooking up fuel lines into the speeder bikes fuel cells."
That is just a small taste folks. He is a great writer.

"OK... so the workaround to higher resolution images is to split them up into a smaller selection of images. I'll leave it up to you guys to multiply the images and adjust the scale on you own computer, either in Photoshop or in some version of "Word."
He also offers insight on printing on decal paper. What a great way to put great looking eyes on your customs.

"Here's the last of the Imperial Officers. I never understood why Hasbro were always changing the grey that officers were made in. I've repainted most of these to standardise them.
AT-AT Commander - General: Mainly repainted TAC Death Star Trooper with repainted armour and skirt from TVC AT-AT Commander, repainted helmet from SW Saga Han Solo (Endor Strike).
AT-AT Commander - Lieutenant: Repainted TVC AT-AT Commander, with repainted arms from TAC Death Star Trooper."
