"Hi All,
GI Joe and the Search for the lost Idol 1:12 scale.
Figure/snake/idol - The figure's is from DamToys and the head is from Hasbro's BS 6" Death Star Trooper and I added a beard using putty and the snake is from Schleich and the idol was printed by a mate.
Helicopter - was made using plastic card and plastic rod/tube and I also used parts from a 1:35 scale tank and the jets I got from my Lego box.
Base - is foam board covered with a spakfilla/sand/dirt mix and was applied and dried I painted it. The ruined stone wall was done using foam, the grass tufts/shrubs are from MiniNatur and the vines are roots I got from the local bushland.

"I made up a very pale brown and dry brushed over the entire piece. Not only has it picked up the highlights, it has also lighted up yesterdays shading.
With the painting done, it’s time to start the final touches."

"Hi All,
80% done on the speeder, I just need to add more greeblies and also add buttons/switches and do some minor sanding.
The seats were done by cutting foam board in half and then using a pencil I scribed to foam to make it look like cushion seats. The panel lines were done by using a sharp knife then scribing the lines with a pencil.
The brown parts are from two 1/35 Maschinen Krieger kits and the outer raised panel lines were done using plastic card.

"Time for another instalment of Movies That Influenced Star Wars.
This time I'll be discussing The Mandalorian. The Mandalorian is basically about a warrior who suddenly finds himself being the caretaker of an infant. This basic idea derives from Lone Wolf and Cub. This is a pretty old story with two different versions. One version a Samurai's wife is murdered and he sets out to avenge her death but along the way he has to care for his infant child. The other version is a Clan leader (Daimyo) dies, back in medieval Japan if a ruler dies the throne will go to the Grandson."

"Hi All,
Imperial Patrol speeder 1:12 WIP.
So far the speeder has been made using foam board for the main frame work and I have used soft drink lids and 1:35 scale tank parts for the intake and thrusters.
Under the speeder I have used 1:35 Maschinen Krieger hover plates and the exposed side panels are also from the Krieger kit.

"Hi All,
Nothing to special today, I picked up a few of the new Hasbro 6" Stormtroopers to see what they are like. My only nitpick is that mine had different size shoulder armour which the left side one was almost 5mm shorter then the right side.
This one I Ieft the shoulder armour on as the pauldron covers the right side shoulder armour, I decided to something simple and just really gave him a repaint and light weathering using Vallejo Paints.
Imperial Comms Trooper 1:12 scale.
Trooper - as mentioned is from Hasbro and the comms unit is from a First Order trooper and I added the antenna section using left over parts from my Bandai Troopers. The rifle is from Bandai's Shoretrooper and the holster is from a Bandai Stormtrooper and the slogan on his helmet says Rebel Killer.

"OMG I suck, I mean suuuuuuuuck, at painting eyes. I guess maybe I'm ok with it on this guy because he's supposed to be ugly, right?
Anyway, here's a new custom henchman. The head is a cast from Outer Rim Traders. The bandolier, and a couple new belt pouches are from Marauders Gun-Runners."

"Excuse the pink look, when I took the outside pictures, I had my flash on which makes the set look pink.
With this done, I will make up a very light brown, which I'll airbrush over this set before painting the door and metallic parts and bricks."

In 2018 we launched HasLab with a dream: to make something fans had been requesting for years, Jabba’s Sail Barge, the Khetanna, the biggest Vintage Collection vehicle yet. And thanks to the fans, thanks to you, we did it. Now we’re back at HasLab with another dream project, and we need your help again to make it happen.
After the success of the Barge, the team spent some time thinking about the best product to follow up. We thought about dipping back into the Original Trilogy or maybe making something from the latest movie entertainment. But time and again we came back to something that was right there, on our TV, tablet, and laptop screens. Star Wars: The Mandalorian introduced a ship that quickly became an iconic part of The Mandalorian lore. It already has more Star Wars screen time than any ship besides the Millennium Falcon and was the centerpiece of some of the most memorable scenes in the series.

"I recently started a 'figure of the day' project. I'll be posting a picture of one figure each day, so I have enough figures for years. I assume I'll miss a day here or there, but so far it's fun so I'll go until it's not fun anymore.
Mostly it'll be unaltered figures from my collection so I won't be sharing them here, but there will be customs in the mix so sometimes there may be crossover.
Today is the first 'custom' in the project. It's the 2010 Vintage Collection Fett figure (VC09) depicting his appearance in the Return of the Jedi, but I've customized it with a better helmet sculpt from the 5-POA Solo & Fett two pack (2017). In my opinion this is now the definitive ROTJ Fett figure."

Took some creative liberties here and there but based these two off background characters from the S5 Mandalorian Episodes
Made a Rocket firing effect out of wire, cotton and hotglue. The rocket is removeable and can attach the SFX or just be a plain ole rocket!
The circle is almost complete... really need that CW Blackseries Ahsoka.... that is only available in the US

"I made another batch of crates. Mostly crime syndicate crates. In my world crime syndicates marked their crates to deter thieves. I have Pyke Syndicate in Yellow, Hutt Cartel in red and Crimson Dawn in blue (large). I already made a Black Sun crate. Also since I'm a Futurama fan I had to make a Planet Express crate in light grey. Finally, a Mining Guild crate in blue (small).
This is a rough mock-up of the docking bay/shady "storage facility". I want everything to fit in this 22"x24" footprint, so I took the wing off the far side of the Slave I, so I can push it back further. It's way out of scale anyway so the farther back the better. I might move some stuff around before I make a final decision, but that's the gist."

I was surprised yesterday afternoon to see this awesome box from Hasbro sitting on my front porch. Inside was this awesome Darth Revan Elite Saber. Talk about one beautiful saber folks.

"Cutting four strips 3" x 12" and glued them to form the curve. I then cut a smaller piece with a doorway at the beginning of the curve.
The next step is to make a static door and then a few more strips of different widths to finish the back wall. After that I will be adding a fascia to the front of the underneath of the walkway, a roof to the curve along with pipes."
It is looking great to me!

"One of my favorite videogames of all time is STAR WARS: Revenge of the Sith. My brother and I love playing the duel mode and co-op missions together. Sometimes we even fight each other with our eyes closed and see who wins at the end - just for fun. When both of us play as General Grievous, one of them has 4 red lightsabers. This lead me to an idea...
I then thought, why wouldn't I give Grievous a full repaint? As I was spray-painting the figure with Citadel's primer, I decided to make a black version of him"

"I used to check ebay power sellers etoystores, cutesource and wiwus on a regular basis, but over the last months I got busy with other stuff. Meanwhile they listed more and more different sets of lightsabers and other accessories. The blue and green ones are sold as "genuine", but the red ones are nothing behind regarding quality.
They also seem to change their names on ebay on a regular basis or open dozens of different stores just to confuse you finding the best offer. So take your time and compare prices. It pays off!
So if you need to complete your action figures with lightsabers and blasters or need some acessories for your custom figures, they might have something for you!"

"3D printed Aircraft control - D shape spade grip used in the Meteor RAF aircraft. This was also used as the flight controls for the Tie Fighter and Darth Vader’s Tie Advanced. I made this so I can scale it down for a 1/6 cockpit controls in my tie fighter design. Hope you all like it. Thanks for watching."

"Update on my work in progress:
Finished marine no. 5 and could not resist to do another customizing :) This is really big fun but you have to watch yourself and not get carried away. Anyway the figures to me are some sort of comic characters and so I decided to really give this guy a heavy look, mounting granates on his thigh and adding this little box of bones (spare part from another set of marines). I had to do a little sculpting on the belt using green stuff so it really fits to the ammunition pouch."

Anyway, here's my newest custom Ewok! I used most of Kneesaa and I used her alternate caped hood so I like to think of this as her sister. My favorite part is the added Boss Fight fur accessory on her back."

"Hi All,
GI-JOE, Adventure Team. Secret of the Mummy's Tomb 1:12 scale.
Figure - The body/hands/boots are from a Damtoys German SS officer and the head is from a Hasbro 6" BS Death Star Trooper which has had a beard and small scare added using putty.
ATV & Sarcophagus - has been made using foam board for the shell and then plastic card was glued over the shell to give it more strength and the wheels are old Lego wheels I got from my Lego stash and I removed the studs from the hubs and glued 28mm shields to them.
Base - has been made using foam board and the walls and wall pictures were done using a sharp pencil. The sand was done by mixing sand and spakfilla with a little sand coloured paint added to it then applied to the base.
The palm tree was made using a cardboard tube with string wrapped around it and then tissue paper was applied by soaking it with watered down PVA glue. The palm throngs were made by painting A4 paper and then cutting out the shape and then cutting the leaves."
That is just part of the awesome description and image update folks. This is just breath taking! Hemble for president!

Recently I had a custom-figure client ask about purchasing a couple figures so I started working customs again.
I made this second cook for Jabba awhile ago, but my client wanted it with a different head so I rebuilt, and sold him."

"Well, you can now call me officially insane :) for I ordered a lot of miniature grass and turfs and not one, not two but four boxes of WH40K figures. Just because they look soooo cool - and also they were 12% off. So now I can mix my Space Marine teams and I also have some Battle Sisters.
Meanwhile I made some progress on my Reivers. Figure #4 marks also my first tiny pimp: I added the small additional handgranate to his belt. The base was textured with playground sand and tiny stones/pebbles out of my garden.
I also worked on my experiments regarding terrain and made snow out of "Kaisers Natron"

"I've been looking at the space between the two towers on the first tile, thinking it need something. I've added a small structure which is fitted between the bases of the towers. I then started to add cracks and texture to surfaces of the tile.
Rather happy with how this has turned out."

"I already got one of these Ugha Warriors from Hasbro's Indiana Jones line, but I ordered 10 more on ebay, because they are great for customs and come with useful accessories. If you need a male body, ths figure is a great base. I'm going to make a custom of Darth Sion with one of them.

"Now, I have a co-pilot!
So on ebay I found a customizer who sells this 3D printed, life-size replica of The Child aka Baby Yoda! His name is Jens and you can also find him on Facebook. Just send me a PM if you're interested.
After the head, hands and feet (optional) are printed, Jens sands down the printing lines, spray-paints the skin and adds all the details. Eyes and nails are painted and the hair is applied with spray-glue.
His girlfriend makes the costume, which looks spot on in my opinion. Perfect match between both here! All parts are attached to a foam core."
That is just the start of a very detailed description. Man, talk about one awesome creation. I will see if I can find you some links for this customizer!

I have to admit I am not very familiar with this action figure line so I did a bit of snooping this morning while waiting for the grass to dry enough for to me to mow (I hate mowing the grass)!
I thought all they might have is military figures and they do, but boy is that just a drop in a very large barrel. The articulatioin and paints apps just seem top notch. Needless to say this line is ripe for customizing!

Being the 3.75" action figure purists that we are, I never saw myself creating a custom in the 6" scale. However, when a client reached out to me asking for a character as awesome as Ahsoka Tano, I couldn't resist.
STAR WARS REBELS "HONDO OHNAKA" created by CUSTOMS FOR THE KID
This was a figure that my Dad had started prior to stepping down from his role here at the blog. He did both the build and the sculpt for the figure.
Seeing Dad's almost completed work just sitting there inspired me to pick up where he left off and add some color to his sculpt. By the time I put the figure down he was fully painted, Hondo symbol painted on his back and all."
Now this is just nice work all the way around. Love that Ahsoka and glad to see some 6" work!

"A friend of mine from high school is about to get done with his Master degree in Engineering. Since he’s very much into computer aided design and manufacturing he gave something he made on his own from scratch to me for my birthday:
A scaled replica of Count Dooku‘s lightsaber. It was made with the selective laser-melting technology using a special aluminum alloy."

"Woke up ridiculously early and thought I'd carry on with this building. I've given it a pelmet, a roof (which I'll add something else to it), a fixed door, I've added another to the layer to base, when that's dry I'll add in steps. When it's painted I'll add piping, just wanted to see what it looks like."

"I pretty much finished the weathering on the crates. Painted up the last three, and black washed them. I have some Tarkin initiative decals coming. They are black so I don't need to re weather, but I dunno I kind of like it the way it is. I will probably set it up just like this in the background. Set up the assault tank in front, that might be cool. Honestly I could use six more lol."

"I finally got my Xcavations series 1. It was held up in DC for a week, but I realize that it's basically a box of sand, so it's pretty hefty. Anyway I got 7, plus a loose Hutt skull. I emptied all of them and ended up with, 2 Rodians, 2 Zabrak, 2 Monkey Lizards 1 Trandoshan, so I'm missing the Gamorean Guard, the one I wanted the most, besides the Hutt. Speaking of the Hutt, I would say he's closer to 1/12 than 1/18, but it's pretty close.
The boxes are what I bought them for so, let's talk about them. They have a similar design to the Jedha Tarkin initiative Kyber containers, but tall instead of long. The only drawback is the Star Wars lable on the top, but what can you do? It is what it invariably is. Otherwise they will make cool imperial crates."
He has painted up a few of them and they look great going 20/20. You will see what he means when you click through.

I wanted to make sure I shared the link today for Bad Mother Customs. They make some awesome waterslide decals for all the different action figure lines.

I agree with Darth More. It is worth a dollar a bubble tape dispenser to make some shield generators!

"I've done a little more work with the latest section. To start with I cut away the small section of floor to the left, scored in some brick work,the layered a piece of 6 mm board over the top. Later down the line there will be extra pieces added along with cables and pipes.
The next section to start will be bar area which will have a beer garden area, along with another wall brace.
With the extra pieces not glued into place I can play with the layout until to see which works better."
It sure has a great look so far!

"I finished the first batch of crates. I used the decals I got from Bad Mother Customs. I really like the Amazon one. The fading on the blue one came out cool. I used grey to give the more colorful decals more contrast. I need to make more, at least twice as many."
He is gonna have a massive crate supply. These look fantastic!

"I'm experimenting with weathering my pencil box crates. Like I've done before I take these Walmart/Michael's pencil boxes. I take off the lid and lid latches, then super glue two together. Then spray primed then spray painted in this case Tamiya Dull Red. Then I started dry brushing using different shades of red then silver. Then I added the decals."
