Dioramas / Re: RCWCreations diorama's
« Last post by RCWCreations on November 08, 2024, 04:01:38 AM »
I’ve started a new personal project. This diorama is a Transformers display scaled to Hasbro’s current line. It will be a combination of foam and 3D prints, styled from the 80s cartoon and details taken from the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games.
I’ve started by building a two-tier foam tower with a 3D-printed floor for the second tier. I’ve cut an opening in one wall and a balcony for the opening.
Using a piece of 10 mm foam, I’ve scored some detail based on the cartoon. I used the closest colour I could find and sprayed it as a test piece. When the paint dries, I’ll add a black wash and then dry brush it silver for the metallic look.

Fan Fiction / Re: The last orders of Captain Kai...
« Last post by Rezikai on November 06, 2024, 09:27:10 AM »
Above the grasslands...

Inside his tie interceptor Captain Kai's breath labored and groaned as the g-forces pushed against his torso as he increased his fighter's speed racing towards the center of the western grasslands of the main continent. His scopes had been relatively clear save for a few farther off rebel fighters engaging his aerial screening fighters. Kai cursed under his breath as a pair of his tie fighter group blinked out of existence on his readout leaving a lone X-wing barely within sensor range was remaining.

Then just Kai gritted his teeth at the thought of the loss of two more of his pilots a tiny blip came into his sensor range in the opposite direction of the X-wing. Across his display Kai's sensors spotted a tie racing towards the north-central of the grasslands beyond the X-wing's position. “There...” Kai spoke aloud in his helmet. That was Lt. Riyval's fighter. Quickly Kai keyed in the frequency the techs back at the rally-point gave him they recorded Riyval's chanting on and burst a transmission to Riyval's tie.
“Riyval! Listen to me! You can break the incantation!” Kai shouted through the comm-channel. “Wake up from it! You have to get control of yourself!” Kai barked through the comm but to no avail, Riyval simply continued the chanting over and over. Kai continued his verbal barrage “ Riyval remember yourself. You went to the the flight academy on Caridia! You're a pilot of the ISD Koumo!” a few seconds after saying the last sentence Riyval quietly relented his chanting and reach up and pulled his helmet off his head. His body was sweating profusely his eyes and ears were bleeding with red streaks dripping down his skin. His face was so pale it looked as if it had drained of all color and only the weakest of breaths escaped his lips as Riyval tried to speak “I, must... obey... captain...”. Kai cursed back at him through the comm-channel before he heard static and then silence as Riyval turned off his receiver entirely. Kai's mind raced he knew he had to stop Riyval from his getting to his target the destruction of his tie fighter would be miniscule compared to the mass destruction that he knew was awaiting. After a few more moments Kai looked back at the sensor scope and the previous reading of the X-wing had gotten stronger and closer it was coming towards Kai and Riyval.

Inside his X-wing Luke Skywalker increased his accelerator as R2D2 gave some troubled whoops and beeps at him. “I know I know! These others aren't racing away they're heading inland. I'm going to make sure they don't try loop around the rest of our fighter group!” Luke felt the rage and hatred trying to creep into his thoughts his sweat trickled down his nose and chin as he raced towards this new pair of imperial fighter signals. Suddenly as Luke was closing in on the closer tie and interceptor R2 whooped and beeped and alert and Luke looked down as his translation display screen. Luke saw the message and had to take a double take and then replied to R2 “Fine, put the imperial pilot through.” a momentary sound of static came over the Luke's speaker then it became galactic basic “ --epeat, Rebel X-wing if you read my transmission, destroy the imperial fighter I'm pursing at 340.82 mark! He carries a mass destruction device! He has to be stopped!”. Luke stared at his display readout for a moment he was almost within weapons range of the interceptor and would be able to catch the Tie/LN fighter in a few minutes. The angle and vector of the interceptor seemed more like it been trying to overtake the Tie/Ln fighter, not giving his cover. Luke gave a long exhale “What do ya think R2?”. R2D2 replied with a worried whine and a small set of beeps before his reply came over the readout display. Luke looked at the display and winced his young face trying to imitate the kind he had seen his Uncle Owen do so many times growing up when he was telling Uncle Owen a sly lie that somehow Owen knew wasn't the truth but wasn't able to prove young Luke was lying. After a second Luke punched the comm-channel and replied “This is the rebel X-wing pilot, will it detonate if I hit it with a proton torpedo?”.
Kai heard the rebel x-wings pilot reply across the open comm-channel asking about destroying Lt. Riyval's fighter preventing disaster. “No! Blow him out of the sky! If he gets to the edge of the forest it'll be too late! I don't know if I can reach him before he reaches the detonation area!”. Luke listened to the imperial's plea and almost felt like asking him satirically “What will happen when he gets there?” but instead stifled the humor as a cold rage started to creep over him and he in turn tried to use the force to repel its effect on his emotions.
“Good.” Was Luke's actual reply through the comm-channel. He raced the X-wing towards the second imperial fighter bypassing the interceptor. A moment or two later R2 replied that the Tie/Ln was nearing firing range to Luke's attention. Luke gripped his control yoke tight as readied his finger to fire his torpedo.

In his tie interceptor Kai gritted his teeth and saw the vector the X-wing was coming in on was much closer than his own. He gambled the rebel would take his offer of mutual assured destruction and glad the rebel took him up on it but he decided to start down thrusting and arcing away from the pair of other fighter vectors, he knew the X-wing could destroy Riyval's tie but Kai was unsure if he'd get there in time and he didn't want to be within the aura's range should Riyval outrun the rebel pilot.
R2D2 gave some trouble wobbles and beeps to Luke's attention who say the interceptor start to change course and furrowed his brow “Yours will come soon enough.” he thought at first then suddenly took a deep breath “N-no.. that's not how a jedi thinks.” Luke said aloud to himself to which R2 gave a startled reply beep to looks words but just then the X-wings display lit the targeting information as the tie fighter was in range of his torpedoes. He gritted his teeth and lined up the tie's vector with his shot which was surprisingly easy as the tie flew straight with no sign of evasive maneuvering to avoid being destroyed by the chasing X-Wing.  “R2, is there a life reading on the tie?” Luke called out to R2 which gave an affirmative beep before the same message of a positive life identification came across the translation display. Luke thought for a few moments and kept the darkness of hate from surrounding his eyes as he took a long meditative breath and reach over and clicked on the comm-channel “Surrender and land Imperial, this is your only warning.” Luke waited a few moments but only static was the tie's reply. “Is he receiving us R2?” Luke said to R2 in his microphone and R2's reply came over the display as the little astromech droid beeped and whooped. “Turned off his transceiver huh? He must know we're behind him.” Luke pushed his X-wing faster towards the tie, his torps would have to travel but were in range of the imperial by now. After a few moments Luke noticed his speed catching up to the tie, he was now within long laser fire range and gave a wince as he opened up with his quad lasers to the starboard side of the tie fighter as a final warning. Suddenly a burst of static and shouting came from his comm-channels “What are you doing!? Destroy him already! He's probably too close now as it is! KILL HIM!” Luke snarled at the voice from what he assumed was the other tie pilot shouting for him to destroy his former comrade. After a few more long seconds Luke felt the cold threads of hate and anger swirling over his face and around his aura and finally gave a long exhale and mental cleansing jedi ability to clear his mind “N-no... this is... wrong. Something's wrong.” Luke said aloud “KILL HIM!” the voice shouted over his comm-channel and Luke turned his receiver off taking another breath in the quick silence before “DESTROY YOUR ENEMY!” came over the now inactive receiver and Luke eyes went wide with a touch of surprise and fear at the inert receiver still allowing the other imperial to shout at him. Then Luke sat back in his grav-couch realizing it wasn't the other imperial's voice it was his own mind, or his own rage being amplified by the dark side of the force surrounding him and nearly everything else on this planet.

Luke gave a long breath and pulled away from chasing the Tie Fighter, he thought perhaps the tie would acknowledge his swinging his X-wing from the chase but it continued on its mad dash towards the northern grassland. Luke reach over and clicked on his comm-channels again only to hear nothing but a pair of pilots on the main squadron's frequency talking to each other, voices he thought he recognized. “Who is this?” Luke shot out over the comm. “Boss? It's Rogue Four, me and Janson are searching for Rogue 2 he ejected out here somewhere.” Luke's eyes went wide as he realized he may have made a horrible mistake “Hobby!? You say Wedge's out here somewhere?” Luke shot back at the others to which a deeper voiced Wes Janson replied “Probably not out this far but we wanted to make sure.”. Luke turned his head to look in the direction of the Tie fighter nearing the area of the north grasslands where the edge of the forest started and reach out with the force straining as the darkness around the planet wanted to stifle his abilities but he couldn't feel Wedge around himself. “Rogues I don't think he's out here turn back and head west I'll follow in a moment.” Luke ordered and the pair of other X-wings acknowledged and started their return vectors. Luke turned his X-wing back towards the racing Tie and realized his decision was the correct one for himself but may not have been for the safety of his people. R2 beeped a few worried beeps at Luke in a questioning tone as Luke raced back after the Tie Fighter he reach out with the force to feel the other pilot but he was moving so fast and far he could only get a second to touch the other pilot's mind in doing so. Luke reach out with the force and made contact with Riyval's mind and when Luke did images of darkness of hate of rage and spite filled his own a grandiose cathedral of chanting beings sacrificing another at an altar with a mental image of a huge monstrous being above them delighting in the hatred. Luke nearly let go of his control yoke and had to shake away the cold evil feelings from his mind as his subconscious's eye had shown him horrific visage's of something, perhaps the same evil that permeates this planet. Luke decided it was enough and lined up his torpedoes and fired.
Luke sat back in his grav-couch from firing his torpedoes at the racing tie and just as they were starting to get within a few hundred meters of the tie fighter it dropped from the sky and impacted on the grassland in a fiery explosion. Luke watched and for a moment felt relieved he wasn't the one to needlessly kill a pilot that was non combatant and that no doomsday device had went off with the ties explosion. Luke watched the pair of torpedoes he shot still track the tie fights trajectory racing towards the fireball it created when it impacted. Luke let a calm relief wash over him for a moment then the feeling hit like an imaginary sword of ice slicing through his sternum. Luke gasped for breath, trying to calm the overwhelming feeling of piercing cold going through him. Just as he gained enough strength to look at his display he saw his pair of torpedoes standing still. It was a strange sight on his read out even more in live action. The pair of torps had gotten within 50 meters of the crashed tie's burning wreckage and frozen in place. Luke knew they'd both self destruct if no target was reach within the next half minute but Luke turned in his cockpit to see the two far off exhaust trails and tiny exhaust lights in the distance standing frozen.

Suddenly a beam of red black light shot from the fiery wreckage of the tie fighter causing a red pink rain to fall from the pillar of light extinguishing the ties wreckage. The pair of torpedoes finally exploded in place causing little to any disruption in the pillar of reddish dark light, what Luke did notice was that the pillar stopped about a kilometer into the air and its top mushroomed out and had the same pink white particles in it that the planet's red mist cloud above seemed to be made of. As if on cue the great mist cloud above the main continent slowly started to encircle the pillar of red and black light as if it was a drain and the cloud water running down it. Luke thought back to the tie interceptor pilot's words and shouted back at R2 “R2 lets get out of here, give me everything the engine has!”. Luke kicked in the engines at full throttle as he vectored his X-wing away from the red pillar of light and raced over the grasslands trying to put distance between him and whatever that pillar was doing.
A few long moments passed and suddenly the red mist cloud that had been so prominent over the continent's skies had been nearly totally absorbed by the red pillar of light all except the mushroom cap to the pillar which was nearly flat at the top of the pillar but curled into a half kilometer circumference around the apex. Luke felt massive turbulence hitting his X-wing as he shouted to R2 and tried to pull up to get into orbit away from the disruptive energy waves emitting from the pillar of red and black. R2 gave a surrendering whine as most of the scopes started to die and his engines gave away to powerlessness “No, what the!” Luke shouted as his X-wing started to fall lifelessly towards the grasslands with no response to his repeated pulls on the control yoke or buttons for power.
Luke knew he had only a few seconds before he was going to be a fiery pile of wreckage like the Tie fighter he had just seen crash, he slapped the ejection control to send himself and his grav-couch and part of the cockpit. But instead he was met with the same inert response his flight controls had given him. Luke's mind raced as the X-wing fell through the sky towards the ground, finally Luke reach out with the force trying to slow his X-wing's descent but the strain of the use and the darkness of this planet made his concentration nearly impossible to maintain, just as the X-wing came within meters of smashing into the ground Luke used the force to kick the X-wing forward to displace the force of the impact. But still he crashed with a thundering boom!

Inside his interceptor Kai could see the pillar of red energy shooting up from the old Kithicor Forest area. He knew he had to get away from the radius if he wanted to keep aloft. The interceptors engines whined as he pushed them past their standard limits trying to get every last meter between him and the coming death that the pillar was to erupt. Blast that rebel fool for not blowing Riyval out of the sky when he had the chance if only he'd done what he asked. There was no use worrying about it now he had to get clear as he pressed forward on the control yokes Kai opened his comm-channels to listen to the traffic. Most of it were rebel fighters from the orbiting ship exclaiming about the pillar coming from the planet, while a small bit of chatter was from his own forces mostly pulled back to rally-point alpha. Just as Kai reach the edge of the grasslands where it turned into the crags and cliffs his forces had tried to make a stand at he heard the high pitched wailing of a strange signal coming through his comm-channel. He knew it wouldn't just be his own transceiver that received the whistling wail but every receiver within range. For the shortest of seconds the wail lasted then stopped as Kai felt a shutter through his tie interceptor. He had cleared the radius he thought to himself as he tore off his helmet and looked at his twin ion engine readouts, he had overburned his engines with that race out of the grasslands and would have to land soon. Kai hoped there was enough of the rally point to make landing safely. Because he knew the only safe area on the continent now was the small peninsula he had ordered the rally-point to.

-

As his X-wing fell from the skies Luke Skywalker focused as much as possible to kick his X-wing horizontal to try and slow the descent of his X-wings inert body as it came crashing down into the planets surface. Luke held himself still with the force but also made sure to brace against the sides of the cockpit from the impact. For a split second he thought he saw his consoles all light back up as if the last drop of power from the generators tickled in before the readouts died again. Then he collided with the ground as his own force push pushed against the X-wing's body trying to displace the energy of the collision.
Then the impact and nothing, blackness. Some minutes later Luke slowly awoke in his cockpit. He gave a cursory glace around the cockpit. It was still intact and not much or rather any damage had gotten inside Luke surprised even himself at his luck, at that moment he expected a secondary voice of doubt to hit him or a spiteful thought of trying better next time to wash over him but it wasn't there. As if the planets own hateful aura had been washed of him. “Whew, R2 what's your status?” Luke said in a long exhaling breath. But silence was R2's reply. Not even a whoop or half whine of discomfort. After a few silent moments Luke unbuckled his grav-couch harness and pushed open his cockpit shield. He took a quick stock of the area around him. It was odd, the X-wing looked upright almost as if it had hit the grassland and bounced but stayed upright. The skies around him had turned deep red with black clouds, behind his X-wing a huge circle was formed from the top of the spire of energy coming from the area the tie fighter had crashed.
Luke's attention scanned over from seeing the spire of energy to R2 directly behind him on the X-wings rear where the droid socket was. R2 was still there but all the lights that were usually blinking or shifting were dark. Luke didn't see any damage. Maybe the power drain that hit the X-wing also drained R2. He'd have to get him powered back up and make sure his memory circuits weren't badly damaged in the energy wave he thought. Then Luke turned his vision to the ground to hop out of the X-wing and that's when he realized it. His fighter wasn't on the ground it was levitating about three meters from the ground itself. Luke wondered if it was his own force ability that was holding it in the air and tried to displace it but nothing. He tried again and again the X-wing remained hovering over the grasslands as if it was in low altitude flight mode. Luke decided to get out of the craft and take a look underneath, maybe they were on something he couldn't feel or see. As Luke pulled off his helmet he secured his light-saber to his belt and hopped out of the cockpit. As his feet landed solidly on the grassy surface. There he saw more of this strange situation then he expected. The underside of the X-wing was burned and torn up pretty bad. He had indeed hit the grassland surface causing enough irreparable damage that he knew his X-wing wasn't flight worthy. He noticed his two port side blaster canon tips had been torn off the wings totally as well as a massive amount of damage to the undercarriage of the X-wings fuselage itself. No this bird was grounded... well at least not more then whatever force is keeping it hovering in the air.
After a few awkward moments of trying his sleeve communicator and then his standard one in his flight-suit pocket and receiving no reply. Luke decided to get R2 out of the X-wing before whatever ability is keeping it aloft a few feet off the ground stops and the fighter finishes crashing. He gave himself a force leap to reach the back of he X-wings fuselage and leaned over R2 who was still inert in the droid socket. Luke found out pulled R2 out of the socket was going to be a task in and of itself as the little droid isn't what you'd call light by any stretch of the imagination. A few unlocked clamps and a trio of immense tugs with help from the force R2's silent body was freed from the X-wing. Luke slowly floated R2 to the ground and noticed how hard it was for him to use the force to do that. As if his ability in the force was straining him to use it or he thought the planet was draining his energy with the force itself.
As Luke hopped off the X-wing a sense of warmth came over him and he could feel his energy start to come back. As if something had started to replenish him. A look stood and looked to the sky feeling the warmth he heard the sound of metal screeching and twisting and a CRASH! As the X-wing came to the ground smashing itself unto its underbelly as the landing gears had no power to deploy before the wave of energy drained the craft.
Luke turned around to view the wreckage he probably would have survived and so would have R2 but they may have had a lot more bruising and damage had they been in the fighter. Suddenly a loud sound of thunder clashed in the sky above Luke and he turned his attention skyward. As he did R2 gave a few low whoops as if power was coming back to the little astromech. Could it be what made Luke start feeling reengerized was also helping R2? He thought. Luke knelt over R2 checking his systems and making sure no permanent damage had been done to his little companion sometime during the diagnostic checks R2 whooped a slow alert sound and Luke took it for the R2 remembering the crash at first but then his force sense felt it to as Luke turned to see something he didn't expect.
About a two meters behind him stood a tall long glistening sword sank blade first into the ground. The blade at least the part above the grassy surface had a shiny metallic finish to it with an ornate white hilt and pommel. At the center of the cross-guard was a shiny blue metallic gem. The blade itself was broad in and of itself about ten centimeters wide and who only knew how long. Luke held that thought looking at the strange weapon before him. Who would know, curiosity was getting the better of him as R2 finished powering all the way up and gave some warning whoops as Luke slowly tread over to the large broadsword half sank into the planets grassy surface. R2 deployed his center tread leg and started to move over to Luke to stop him from getting closer to the strange sword but suddenly was frozen in place unable to move.
Luke either didn't sense R2's constraint or did but decided to wait on what happened as his minds perception was too focused on the half buried sword only a few steps in front of him. Luke was in reaching distance he reach his hand to touch the sword and as he did a wave of warmth washed over him. Valor, Love, Honor, Zealotry, Guardian, Hunter, and a myriad of emotions swept into him as his fingers touched the grip of the swords handle. As Luke wrapped his fingers around the grip he pulled the sword up from the ground and found it easily slid from the earth of the grasslands almost as if it had no weight to it. In a slow gesture Luke turned the sword upright pointing the long broad blade into the sky and felt the rush of warm energy hit him again. Luke exhaled feeling the waves of energy penetrate his own aura and his own fore senses. After a moment the sword shattered into misty pieces of ghost like aether and flitted away into nothing. Luke took in a deep breath and looked at his hand his mechanical hand still hummed with energy as he at it where it had held the broadsword only moments ago.
A second later R2 gave a wharbled whine as the force holding him still let go and the atromech wheeled over to his master with a concerned few beeps and whines. “I, I don't know R2. It just... called to me.” Luke said in a strange tone of wonder. Suddenly a loud voice let out a booming belly laugh, it was everywhere around Luke and R2 but nothing could be seen. “I told you, he was the one.” The voice claimed after the laugh. It sounded like a man's voice in a chuckling sentence. Then a very soft feminine voice joined the first “You did and I didn't believe you. Your tally is still far below mine though dear brother.” the womanly voice said with a slight hint of an invisible smirk in her tone. “Aye, that I am one day dear sister I'll learn from your hunters ways.” the male voice said in a loud but non threatening tone before continuing “So young Skywalker.” the mail voice bellowed “How does it feel to be a chosen one?”.
