Mattel "Jurassic World" Attack Pack Minmi Review:
Mattel's "Jurassic World" Attack Pack dinosaurs are the most basic dinosaurs available in the main 3.75" scale range. These small dinosaurs are not always in scale like the rest of the series but are great, low cost dinosaurs to help flesh out the line.
Most of the dinosaurs in the "Attack Pack" series share the same articulation- swivel shoulders/hips and a hinged jaw on the carnivorous dinosaurs. Some dinosaurs have additional articulation like the ball hinged head and swivel tail on the Minmi I am reviewing today.
The Minmi is a species related to my favorite dinosaur of all time, the Anklyosaurus, but lacks the weapon on the end of the tail.
The dinosaur is cast in a pale pea green plastic with tiny flecks of darker green plastic embedded in it. The majority of the bony knobs on the dinosaur's body are made of a soft, pliable vinyl. The remaining knobs and spikes on the head are painted a matching color to the vinyl knobs. The knobs on the tail and the one centered behind the head are unpainted on my sample but as I have only ever seen the one example in person I do not know if mine is defective or if the entire run lacks the paint on these knobs. Additional paint apps on and around the eyes complete the look.
This is the second of the final 2018 wave of Attack Pack dinosaurs that I have gotten my hands on. I am still looking for the Proceratosaurus to bring me current.
I really like the Minmi as, in addition to being related to the Anklyosaurus, is also has a very otherworldly, alien appearance. I would like to get a few more eventually.
For the $6.97 these figures run (at Walmart, slightly higher at Target), they are fun little dinosaurs that are not hard on the wallet.
