Zuru has just released a fun little subseries for their popular "5 Surprise" blind box series of toys called "Dino Strike".
"Dino Strike" is a series of small dinosaur (and a few dinosaur skeletons) action figures with armor and weapons that come disassembled in a segmented round container. When assembled, the dinosaurs are about 3/4 the size of a Mattel "Jurassic World" "Attack Pack" figure. Several of the figures have action features which are almost unheard of on such small figures. The weapons are all spring loaded and can be swapped between all of the different dinosaurs due to a common connection system in the armor. The armor pieces have additional connection ports to add additional weapons so you can make heavily armed dinosaurs.
Zuru mostly plays it safe on the species selection focusing almost exclusively on widely known species (that have also been the focus of Mattel's "Jurassic World" offerings) with the exception of a Therizinosaurus (sadly not feathered). If these sell well, hopefully they will branch out to lesser known, more exotic looking species in the future.
It looks like they have an MSRP of $9.99, which to be honest, is a bit high for what they are. Add in the blind boxed nature of not knowing what dinosaur you are getting (no identifying codes have been found as of this writing), and it makes them a bit less desirable in my eyes (I detest blind boxes, I like to know what I am spending my money on).
