Clone Wars 2010 Anti-Hailfire Squad battle pack
« on: August 20, 2010, 05:09:27 AM »
Anti-Hailfire Squad battle pack

Hailfire droids present a significant challenge to the clone trooper army. They quickly establish a special squad to fight those rolling devastators. Bantha Squad includes specialists in heavy weapons, aerial recon and demolitions. With these combined skills, the squad can pinpoint these droids and attack them with the weapons and firepower necessary to immobilize and demolish them early in any assault operation. (from the package)

the pack includes:
* two clone troopers (with two DC-15A blaster rifles)
*one aerial recon trooper (with jetpack)
*one clone commander (with new ARC blaster pistols
*one laser cannon
*four stands
*four battle game cards
*one die

the clone commander
The commander of Bantha Squad is an expert in heavy weapons and demolitions, making him uniquely qualified to formulate successful strategies against the droids.
(from the package)

The clone commander is basically a repaint of the 2009 clone tank gunner figure but he has now a kama with new holster for the brand-new ARC blaster pistols.

articulation:
*ball-jointed neck (helmet is not removable)
*ball-hinged shoulders
*ball-hinged elbows
*ball-hinged wrists
*swivel torso
*swivel hips
*ball-hinged knees
*ball hinged ankles

the aerial recon trooper
Aerial recon troopers monitor the enemy forces from the air and relay the location of the hailfire droids to their squad members on the ground. (from the package)

The aerial recon trooper is a repainted Denal body with the same jetpack and a repainted version of the Echo helmet with micro binoculars. The figure comes with a DC-15s blaster and two projectiles for the jetpack (one for display and one for playing).

articulation:
*ball-jointed neck (helmet is removable)
*ball-hinged shoulders
*ball-hinged elbows
*ball-hinged wrists
*ball-hinged torso
*swivel hips
*ball-hinged knees
*ball hinged ankles

the clone troopers
The troopers use a modified version of the Turbo Tank's heavy laser cannon to bombard the droids with weapons fire before the final application of explosives.
(from the package)

The troopers are repaints of the controversial Stone figure but without the removable helmet. Both troopers come with the DC15A blaster rifle (big and small version).

articulation:
*ball-jointed neck (helmet is not removable)
*ball-hinged shoulders
*ball-hinged elbows
*swivel wrists
*swivel waist
*swivel hips
*ball-hinged knees

the laser cannon:
The laser cannon is a modified version of the Turbo Tank Gunner Crew deluxe pack laser cannon with a new gun carriage. The gun carriage includes a fold-out  platform for one clone trooper.

rating:
All in all a nice pack and a great addition to every CW clone collection.
The paintwork of  Bantha is very nice but the articulation of the clone troopers could be a lot better

8.5/10

got mine yeterday ,am seriously unimpressed (clint was good enough to pick me one up)i found the plastic felt decidedly cheaper than previous clones also the stone mold figs are awful (shoddily put together) also found that generally the paint apps were very sloppy as well ,the commander ,jet trooper and cannon were the best parts  in my humble opinion...

I agree with you Jay. The pack is quite disappointing. The main reason to buy this pack is the Clone Commander, he is by far the best part.
Is there a chance to see a YouTube review from you about the pack?

I picked up enough figures to comprise a version of this pack, without both of the 2 Stone sculpted troopers.
It has 2 of the aerial trooper versions, which I like better.

The only thing I am unhappy about is not having the packaging diorama backdrop.
I am still looking for this on sale or clearance in hopes of picking that up.
Great pics and nice review.
