action fleet checklist
« on: October 27, 2009, 01:50:16 PM »
here is a weblink to a realy good resource for checking off your collections.  I realy like this site as it gives photos for most every ship and lists everything.

http://www.starwarsactionfleet.com/swaf.cgi?s=archive#Unproduced

from this link you can access rebelscum's photo archive of action fleet sets (box art and in box images of the ships only unfourtunately)

http://www.rebelscum.com/galoob.asp

if anyone else knows of a good reference online or would like to type one up and put in here for everyone that'd be awesome.

Here's another site, possibly one of my favorites. Has many shots of all the different ships, also Titaniums and Micro Machines to go with the Action Fleets.

no problem...

the star wars action fleet series holds a special place in my heart.  It was what got me big into star wars collecting.  I never cared for action figures as a kid as I wanted to play with the ships, reanact the dogfights and space scenes.  When I was little I got an allowance and every month I'd buy a new action fleet ship with my money.  I remember alot of times getting forwards on my allowances and not having allowances for an entire month just so I could get an action fleet ship at the store during a trip to wal-mart/toys-r-us....

of course that's when they were retailing at 9.99 a pop.  If they were for sale now they'd probably want 20 bucks for them! gah...

anyways, bottom line is that this is where most of my actual star wars collecting is.  I do action figures for customizing mostly, but action fleet is my pride and joy....  so many hours of childhood fun.

There are 2 more sites about Action Fleet and MicroMachines:

http://www.miniempire.ca/index.php?page=fleet&cat=main

http://starwarsmicromachines.wordpress.com/

Too bad Sicqnus' site, which was the most comprehensive Action Fleet (AF) and MicroMachines (MM) site is down for a year already.

Action Fleet is what got me into collecting Star Wars. I've been a SW fan since I watched ANH in childhood in cinema, and that is something to say remembering that I live in Romania which back then was under Communist rule. I watched then ESB and ROTJ the first on on cinema and the other one was not allowed in cinema so watched it elsewhere but this is another story.

My little  cousin Roby had a car accident in 2001, and he also liked SW, I got for him a few AF ships and vehicles and then got them for me as well. Thus I started collecting Action Fleet. Never was interested in Hasbro action figures, but the cool AF ships were my favorites. I got them all plus the playsets, even got into the MM playsets (which I also have all - even the rare ones) because the MM playsets were excellent for AF mini-figures and ships.

It's so nice to see other collectors who appreciate Action Fleets like I do. AFs are my favorite line. I remember picking up my first ship in the mid-90's (an X-Wing, I believe it was Porkins). To me they have just been the perfect size, not too big, not too small. I've been going after Titaniums now, but it just doesn't have the same feeling as AFs do.

I feel the same way red-two.  It's a shame that the titanium ultra line didn't last longer than it did... I realy thought with the popularity of action fleet the larger titaniums would take off..... oh well.

I've been an active member on SirStevesGuide on Action Fleet and MM section when these lines were still available - SSG had the best AF/MM section on any forum back then - there was a superb community of fans.

I never got into collecting Titaniums, I only have a couple and looking for Ultra AT-AT (to display with my MR AT-AT) - I always thought Titanium line were the cheap replacement of AF. Even the Ultras were poorer quality than AF...

Here's another website, recently been made. It's created by Unreality86, who posts on Deviantart and youtube under the same name. The site is geared more towards customs, as well as different techniques.
