The Wroonian
« on: December 27, 2009, 11:21:18 PM »
INFO: The Wroonians were a blue-skinned race of Near-Humans from the planet Wroona in the Inner Rim Territories, a world in the same sector as the Bestine system.

RACE: Wroonian
HEIGHT: 1.6 Meters Tall
SKIN: Blue
DISTINCTION: Blue skin, yellow irises
LANGUAGE: Wroonian

HOMEWORLD:
Wroona was the homeworld of the near-Human Wroonians, located in the Wroona system. It was a small world, located at the far edge of the Inner Rim Territories, in the same quadrant and region as Bestine IV. It was covered by great oceans divided up by long continents, creating thousands of miles of blue-sand coasts.

Wroona had a long tradition of seafaring, naval commerce, and materialistic spirituality. It was a wealthy tradeworld in the galactic community, located on the Keller's Void hyperspace shortcut. The Wroonians established many colonies, such as that on Saleucami. The planet was represented in the Galactic Senate by Chi Eekway during the Clone Wars. The Wroonians were more than willing to engage in military force to ensure Palpatine would surrender his emergency powers.

With the rise of the militaristic Galactic Empire, Wroona's strategic location gained new importance. The Empire established an Imperial garrison, dispatched an Imperial governor to rein in the Wroonian trade guilds, and built a small but vital shipyard and resupply post, the Wroona Stardock. Starship Outfitters and Wholesale Firearms were two businesses there.

BIOLOGY AND APPEARANCE:
Wroonians could be distinguished from baseline Humans not only by their blue skin (even blue lips), but by their yellow irises. They shared physical characteristics with the Pantoran people.

CULTURE AND HISTORY:
Wroonian society has always emphasized personal gain and material possessions. Each Wroonian has a different sense of what possessions are valued most in life, and what kind of activities to profit from. Wealth could be measured in credits, land, the number of starships one has, or the number of contracts or jobs a Wroonian completes.

This need to obtain wealth is balanced by the Wroonians' carefree nature. If they were more dedicated and intense in grabbing at their material possessions, they could be called greedy, but the typical Wroonian seems friendly and easy-going. Nothing seems to faze them. They're the kind of people who laugh at danger, scoff at challenges, and have a smile for you whether you're a friend or foe. They always have a cheery disposition about them. Call them the optimists of the galaxy if you want, but Wroonians would rather see the cargo hold half-full than half-empty.

Wroonians have evolved with the growing universe around them - although they haven't chosen to conquer the galaxy or meddle in everyone else's affairs. Wroona entered the space age along with everyone else. They're not big on developing their own technology, they just like to sit back and borrow everyone else's.

Wroonians were renowned for telling boastful stories.
