INFO: Annoo-dat was the name used by two separate species who lived as a single culture on Annoo, an agriworld in the Mid Rim.
The original Annoo-dat were four-eyed reptiles indigenous to the original planet Annoo. They abandoned their homeworld and conquered Gelefil, and the Ret natives of that world. Afterward, the Ret called themselves Annoo-dat as well, and Gelefil's name was changed to Annoo. Xenobiologists called the original Annoo-dat "Annoo-dat Prime", and called the Ret Annoo-dat Blue. The two Annoo-dat peoples had a unified culture, however, and did not pay attention to such distinctions.

HOMEWORLD:The planet originally known as Gelefil was an agricultural world between Ingo and Ko Vari. It was one of seven inhabited planets out of a total of fourteen in the Annoo system of the Nimat Corridor of the Outer Rim Territories. It was inhabited by the peaceful, long-lived Ret. The planet was later renamed Annoo after it was conquered by the Annoo-dat.
In about 322 BBY, the Annoo-dat of neighboring Annoo abandoned their dying homeworld and conquered Gelefil. Within a century, the Ret adopted Annoo-dat culture and they became a single civilization, both species referring to themselves as Annoo-dat and to Gelefil as Annoo. To distinguish between the two species, xenobiologists referred to the Ret as Annoo-dat Blue and the original Annoo-dat as Annoo-dat Prime, however the Annoo-dat did not use such terminology.
Agriculture on Annoo became highly industrialized on the southern continent (the northern continent remaining much as it always had) and the Tra'ang'a language of the Ret fell out of use, all Annoo-dat speaking Dat-an.
In about 27 BBY, General Ashaar Khorda attempted a bloody coup, but he was defeated by the Galactic Republic forcing him to go into hiding.
During the early years of the Galactic Empire, the notorious crime lord, Sise Fromm, had a stronghold on Annoo from where the Fromm Gang plotted the takeover of the other major gangs. At the same time, Demma Moll and her daughter, Kea, had a farm complex on the planet and formed a resistance cell in opposition to the Fromms and the Empire.
Annoo was the homeworld of the original Annoo-dat species, referred to by xenobiologists as Annoo-dat Prime. Centuries of warfare left the planet desolate. Developing space travel, the Annoo-dat left the planet in a mass exodus and conquered Gelefil in the same system 322 BBY. Gelefil was then renamed Annoo.
BIOLOGY AND APPEARANCE:Annoo-dat - Blue: The Ret were sapient reptilians, indigenous to Gelefil. They had heavy-lidded eyes and scales which changed colors with their emotions. They were also long-lived with the average lifespan of hundreds of years.
Annoo-dat - Prime: Four-eyed reptilian warriors, they desolated and abandoned their original homeworld Annoo, and conquered nearby Gelefil, thereafter known as Annoo. They were known to have preternatural strength, reflexes, and speed. As well as being reptilian in nature, they had the ability to see into the infrared spectrum, and taste the air in a way reminiscent of snakes.
CULTURE AND HISTORY:Annoo-dat - Blue: When the Annoo-dat conquered their home planet, its name was changed to Annoo after the original homeworld of the Annoo-dat Prime. After a century of Annoo-dat rule, the Rets came to call themselves Annoo-dat and the two cultures largely merged with the Dat-an language replacing Tra'ang'a as the most common language on the planet. To distinguish between the two species, xenobiologists called the Ret Annoo-dat Blue and the original Annoo-dat Annoo-dat Prime. Neither species made such distinctions.
The notorious crime syndicate, the Fromm Gang, was based on Annoo and was comprised mostly of Annoo-dat Blue.
Annoo-dat - Prime: Annoo-dat Prime where also known on rare occasions to be born with two pairs of functional arms, reminiscent of their reptilian ancestry.
