Legacy Captain Needa BD No. 40
« on: June 16, 2009, 06:48:54 AM »
Picked this one up a couple of weeks ago and opened it today.
Finally we get a nice imperial officer sculpt on a super arty body. This is the other figure that I wanted from this wave and he doesnt dissapoint. Paint color and application look great as does the sculpt for the body and ball mounted head. Rank insignia are glued on and can be removed for easy customization into pretty much any rank imperial officer that one would desire. Cap is removable and quite an attractive piece. Figure comes with the usual floppy plastic imperial blaster from that era.

This fig comes with left leg to build the U3-P0 BAD figure.

TY, buddy. Here are some pics of him wearing my shortened Veers chestplate and a very misshapen stock Hasbro Veers helmet.

Since that one looks so bad, I broke out the better version which is still attached to that GM face after I converted it to use as a master for a mold.

Nice figure. One of the few I will buy this year.

Maybe someday they will make an Imperial Officer that will sit properly.

Till then my Stand-Up Chairs are still in business..

My complaints with the Needa figure:

- right ankle is not lined up at a natural ankle

- ankle joints made from gray plastic rather than black to match the other boot parts

- hat had oddly-shaped hem-line  (I think this was just on my particular fig, tho)

Otherwise, decent fig.  Hopefully, the next variant they use his body for will at least use the right color of plastic in the ankle.  I mean, with the rank and code-cylinder as a separate piece, you *know* that mold will be getting reused!!  Wonder if they used it for the new Imp officer dealing with Endor Luke in that new battle-pack ...

I wondered what the Veers armor would look like. Now I know.

Just made an astonishing discovery this evening!  Captain Needa uses the same legs - with the same right ankle problem - as the Death Star Commander!  I knew I'd seen that ankle issue before, but finally found where.
