This weekend's project is sorting through my 49 gallon tote full of "greebles" (customizimg/model building slang for bits used to create tech/mechanical detailing). I have been customizing for over 30 years now and have amassed several hundred pounds of parts. I have been organizing them over the years to make finding specific parts needed for whatever project I am currently working on easier. I have separated them by type- i.e. all engines in one box, all vehicle mounted weapons in another etc- and then further sorted them so that all of the same parts are in the same bag in the same box as I often need multiples of the same part for a project. I had sorted everything in this manner except for my greebles box and now it is time to do so as I need a bunch of these parts for my next project. This is a daunting task but I am about 50% finished at this point.
The first pic in this post represents what I have already sorted and the second represents the unsorted remains. These bags are 2.5 gallon heavy duty ziplock bags, I use these as they resist puncturing from the often pointy or sharp pieces in them. These bags are all sorted by parts type (1 bag is full of "G.I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra"/"Retaliation" spring loaded launchers, another is full of pipes/cables/wires, another is full of various projectiles, etc.).
I should be working on this for a few hours a day for the next 2 days.
