DarthSinister's Workshop
« on: October 23, 2017, 12:07:55 PM »
My oldest girl (I have three) decided for Halloween she wanted to be Sabine Wren from Rebels. Of coarse she decided this at the last minute, so my wifey ordered the costume from amazon. She just got it last week and was underwhelmed. Especially with the mask. It's just a one sided plastic mask with a band to hold it on.

I couldn't have that, so I worked on it for a day this weekend and she's happy with the results. It's not perfect, but for one day I think we couldn't get any better. I used some craft and EVA foam and a dollar tree knight helmet... glue, duck and 3m tape and a paint job. What do y'all think?

The original...

I think this rocks. Why Hasbro won't release their full helmet boba in a sabine paint job is beyond me. I do look for them to at least do one of their high end helmets in boba one day and maybe then we will see a good version, but till then yours is hands down awesome and only one day using a dollar store bucket. Fantastic. My own girl would love to have one of these! Off to share.

And that’s what good dads do! I remember my dad making me a Boba Fett helmet out of an old motorcycle helmet (the legit version at costume shop was too expensive).

Update on the parts...

Added some foam armor to the store-bought jumpsuit. It's held on with Velcro and hand painted.

Foam gun belt. Double holsters with tie-downs and two custom painted dollar tree blasters. They flash a red light and make a sound that's sounds like a blaster shot.

3 dollar wal-mart laser sword was perfect for the DarkSaber after I tweeked it.

Foam strap-on Jetpack. Hand painted, sink drain and some plumbing fittings for the rocket booster. Outdoor clipping lashing straps from wal-mart secure the pack. This project cost me about 10 bucks.

Group pic 1 sword off. Group pic 2 sword on.

I've got a happy little girl! 1 weeks work. We'll do some dressed up pics too.

My middle girl wanted me to make her a wand for her witch costume. I used The Song Of The Sea characters to carve it out. She loves that movie... anything Irish.
