Kyle Katarn and Yuuzhan Vong comic pack
« on: September 21, 2009, 02:31:39 PM »
This is a pack I picked up a few weeks ago and never got to, until now.
The comic is a pretty good read, and is a reprint of SW Tales #21. It is a good story and the art is pretty good, but not entirely my favorite. The story makes up for it though.
The Kyle Katarn fig is a New sculpt with a ball mounted head, ball jointed  shoulders, elbows, and knees. He has swivel waist, hips, wrists, and no ankle articulation. He has a nice holster and his trademark pistol along with his blue light saber. He also has a removable rubber shoulder pad on his right side mounted in the hole and post method. Over all a very nice fig.
Now the Yuuzhan Vong figure is just HUGE. It is a new sculpted figure with SA shoulders, elbows, knees and ankles. He has swivel head, waist, hips and wrists. He has softer rubberized barbs throughout his vonduun crab armor attached in the sculpt of the fig that are not removable, and comes with a harder rubberized and painted amphistaff matching his reddish armor color. This guy is awesome except for the lack of head articulation, and maybe the wierd look to the head/body size comparison. This guy makes the original darktrooper look small.
Overall I am very pleased with this pack and am very happy to have found it.
pics to follow...

Without seeing this in person, I may change this initial opinion but the Vong figs just isn't what I was hoping it would be. I will have to hunt for one of these as the Vong was one of my most anticipated figures when I first saw it was slated for a release.

It is super articulated everywhere but neck, wrists, and waist. there it is only swivel type.
I hoped they would be big and lanky looking to fit the novels description better, but they are well made(except for the head and more particularly the face which seems a little small). Tight joints and posable although it is a litte top heavy.

I do like it, the figs and the book are great in my opinion.
I have only seen one, which I bought. So I dont know where to find them, but I did get mine from Target.
The price was normal comic pack price of $15 or so.
