The Yarkora
« on: December 23, 2009, 06:00:54 AM »
INFO: The Yarkora were bipedal, anthropomorphic beings resembling cameloids. They hailed from an unknown desert world presumably in Wild Space or the Unknown Regions.

RACE: Yarkora
HEIGHT: 2 Meters Tall
SKIN: White, brown, blonde, green, gray
DISTINCTION: Camel-like humanoids
LANGUAGE: Yarkoran

HOMEWORLD:
The Yarkora come from the Yarkora Homeworld.  This world has yet to be found.

BIOLOGY AND APPEARANCE:
Yarkora spoke the Yarkora language. Yarkora had immense three-fingered hands, a long snout with wide nostrils, smooth fur, and rough tufts of hair. Despite being so tall and looking as strange as they did, Yarkora more often than not didn't attract attention to themselves.

Yarkora were known as crafty con artists and scoundrels. They would masterfully dissect information from others, despite almost never talking about their own past, culture or interest. There were few known Yarkora force-users.

CULTURE AND HISTORY:
The first recorded encounter with a Yarkora was dated 3 BBY. Since that encounter no one has been able to find their homeworld. Despite this, Schurk-Heren was a Yarkora smuggler, and was captain of the vessel Uhumele when the Jedi Dass Jennir tried to hijack his ship to escape New Plympto after the end of the Clone Wars. It is unknown if they developed their own hyperdrive technology or if it was given to them by (or stolen from) another spacefaring species.

During the Galactic Civil War, groups of Yarkora helped the Rebel Alliance with counter-espionage, while a few served the Galactic Empire as couriers; others worked as scouts and t'bac farmers. Their presence in the galaxy at large had increased after the formation of the New Republic.

Yarkora were at some point seen on Phaeda and some also worked for Grappa the Hutt.
