SKIN: Tan (HAIR: Black)
DISTINCTION: Sharp fighting claws on four digit hands; large, wild looking eyes; tusked mouth; short horns near their ears; wide, bony brows; large nostrils & ears; covered in fur everywhere save their faces, palms, & soles of their feet
LANGUAGE: Trunsk

HOMEWORLD:
Trunska was a planet located within the Trunska system of the Colonies. It was cool and rocky, with a thin atmosphere and many rivers. The Trunsks evolved there and spread out along Trunska's large network of waterways. The Trunsks eventually developed agriculture and formed cities, which grew into city states and eventually competing empires. Tyl the Deplorable finally conquered the entire world during its Information Age. His reforms led the Trunsks to new heights of technological advancement, and the species soon spread beyond their homeworld and joined the Galactic Republic.

During the reign of Palpatine, Trunska came under the domain of the Empire. The Trunsks were designated a slave species. The planetary emperor, Belgoa, publicly decried the enslavement but secretly cooperated with the Imperials as long as he had final approval over who could stay or go. The Trunskan emperors were served by a large Trunsk police force.

Trunska enjoyed brisk trade with other worlds. However, in the Imperial era, the sale of weapons was strictly forbidden there.

BIOLOGY AND APPEARANCE:
Descended from predatory mammals, Trunsks were stout fur-covered bipeds with large ears and nostrils, well adapted to their cold, thin-atmosphere home. Their wide, tusked mouth, vestigial horns, and sharp fighting claws gave them a fearsome appearance. Trunsks typically had a fierce temperament, and were paranoid towards outsiders and strangers.

CULTURE AND HISTORY:
As they progressed from agricultural settlements along the rivers to continent-spanning empires, Trunsk warlords continually feuded with each other. Eventually, the planet was unified by Tyl the Deplorable. By this point, the Trunsks had developed information-age level technology. Without wars to slow their progress, they rapidly developed hyperspace technology, and joined the Galactic Republic.

When the Galactic Empire came to power, the Trunsks lost their freedom, becoming one of many legally designated slave species. The Trunsk ruler, Emperor Belgoa, became an Imperial puppet who publicly denounced the enslavement of his people, but secretly allowed the Empire to take slaves (especially Belgoa's political enemies.) The slave trade continued, even though the defiant nature of Trunsks made them unpopular as slaves. Even free Trunsks on Trunska were not allowed access to armed spacecraft or personal weapons, a law strictly enforced by Belgoa's police.
