1977 Figure Stand
« on: September 11, 2010, 10:01:07 AM »
So my wife was out walking the other day and she spotted this on top of a recycling bin.

It's interesting that it doesn't say "Kenner" but rather "General Mills."  Without having looked it up, I'm going to guess this was part of a promotional tie-in, something you'd save up General Mills cereal boxtops and send away for... which I'm guessing makes this thing pretty darned rare.

Not that I'd ever sell it, but I am considering starting a collection of actual vintage figures, since their peg-holes are the only ones that could accommodate this thing's pegs.
I have altered the action figure. Pray I don't alter it further.

What you have is the mail-a-way display stand and in anycase finding it for nothing is a great item. The early SW items were marked General Mills as Kenner was a subsidary at the time.  All part of the General Mills Fun Group if I recall correctly.
