Spice Rack Displays!
« on: November 14, 2011, 03:36:18 PM »

I had been displaying my figures on an old Kenner display stand, but things were just getting crowded beyond belief.
Luckily, the wife is a genius and recommended I use a set of spice racks as a display stand.  They're black and gray, with a metallic-looking plating.  (Sorry for the weird composition on the panorama shot... my phone's camera isn't the best thing for doing this, but I couldn't find the transfer cord for my camera.)

The full cast list:
-Jango Fett
-5 clones
-my custom Bel Terrick figure with his 'droid
-General Greivous
-Young Obi-Wan
-Hoth Luke
-Bespin Luke
-Yoda
-ROTJ (Attack on the Death Star) Lando
-Admiral Ackbar
-Dengar
-Boba Fett
-Old Obi-Wan
-Stormtrooper
-ANH Luke
-ANH Leia
-C3PO & R2D2
-Han
-Chewie (who seems to have been composited out of existence in the picture!)
-Darth Vader
-Iron Man
-Captain America (with Indiana Jones' pistol)
-Thor

In the background are my three lithographed prints in their protective covers.
Spice racks!  Who knew?  And I only had to go to Bed, Banthas, and Beyond (just off the Kessel Run) to get them!
My next step will be to run a fiber optic rope behind all the characters on each step to backlight them.
I have altered the action figure. Pray I don't alter it further.

Thanks!  I actually changed my mind on the backlighting right after I submitted the post.  Since the racks are just thin plastic, I can score them with a soldering iron; I'm going to make them look like this instead:

Those spice racks are great! I have been using similar ones for over 10 years (check my Star Wars Room thread and you'll see many, many different models on my shelves holding figures :) ).

Will do!  Of course you realize I reserve the right to copy any displays I deem cool enough! ;D

Okay, finally found the transfer cord for the camera.  Here's a proper photo of the display!
